Science at home! Fun homemade experiments for the little ones. Today we will learn about the Coanda effect!

in Education4 years ago

Hello friends of @hive, the education of our children is extremely important and we, as parents, have a responsibility to ensure that this is the best possible and not just leave this task to the teachers.

Through the experiments at home, we can teach our children certain concepts of science that otherwise seem boring.

Today we will do a very simple and practical experiment from home that will allow us to teach our children what is the Coanda Effect, so we will be very easy and fun.

But before starting the fun it is important that we know or remember a basic concept.

What is the Coanda Effect?

In 1910 the Romanian aeronautical engineer Henri Coanda (1886 - 1972) discovered that a fluid (gas or liquid) tends to follow the contour of the surface on which it impacts (provided that the curvature of the surface on which the fluid and the angle of incidence of the fluid are not very large).

Yes now! Let's go with the experiment!

Materials:

A spoon
A stream of water (can be in the sink, a sink or a hose

Procedures:

  • In order to demonstrate the Coanda Effect, we place a spoon under a stream of water and we look at the water's path.

What happen?

The fluid tends to follow the outline of the surface where it strikes. (Coanda effect).

As you can see, home experiments can be very useful when used as a teaching and learning tool, as parents we have the responsibility to offer our children the best education possible, for which we should look for the most appropriate strategies, our little ones They are full of curiosity and they love seeing new things and that is a point in our favor, the Cases of Experiments give us a universe of our knowledge. The opportunity to learn while having fun, just do not think about it anymore and put it into practice.

I never learned this in school. Now at the age of 56 I also know the Coanda effect.
Thank you for writing.

Thanks to you for visiting my blog! As long as we are alive, we will continue learning! Regards!
