September HPUD Guessing Contest - Who are they?

In my last month's HPUD post, I talked about organising my Hive Fest trip. That is done now and I'm all set and ready to go in exactly two weeks' time. Can't wait to meet everyone. With that cost sorted out, I can concentrate on building my presence on Hive both in person and on line.

This month I made 13 posts, and grew my account from 79350 to 81000 HP. The breakthrough came a couple of weeks ago when I saw my HP was just a little shy of the Big 8. I couldn't resist myself and powered up 8.847 HP to take it so exactly 80k HP. Yeah! Another level was reached.

Some of you will know that I can be a bit pedantic with round figures on my HP. With all my Hive Fest cost sorted out now, I decided to power up a little bit more this month to take my HP to another round figure of 81k HP 😊

I'm very happy with my progress this year, and will let things take its course, it will be interesting to see where I end up at the end of the year (sounds scarey when we're talking about year end already!!)

September HPUD Guessing Contest

This week I've posted a couple times about the See Monster, a public outdoor artwork on a north sea oil rig.

20220830_211432.jpg

I've applied to become a volunteer and a couple of weeks ago I attended a volunteer induction day. A charity came to do a special training session for us so we can help a particular group of visitors when they visit.

Tip ....

If you read my previous post you can get some idea about what this See Monster is. My volunteer role is basically to hang around talking to visitors, answering any questions they may have and helping them in any way we can. The venue is designed to be all inclusive so everyone, no matter what age or disability you have can move around freely and enjoy the experience even if you can't see, feel, hear or touch some parts of it. My training was to help a very specific group of visitors should they come to visit the See Monster.

Here are a couple of photos from the day during our training session. The first one may give you some clue on what it's about as it has some equipment we used during training. The second photo is the charity's promotion material. This month's HPUD Guessing Contest is....

Which group of visitors was my training for?

20220822_160323.jpg

I'm not sure if this will be an easy or difficult challenge this month, let's see when you all come up with.

This month's prize pool is 10 HBD and will go to the person who guessed correctly. If there is more than one winner you will share the 10 HBD. And as always, if you HPUD today, I will double your prize if you guessed correctly. The contest will close in 7 days time so get your answers in now! Good luck everyone!

A big well done on hitting that big 8!
You do seem a wee bit Hivenumber OCD but why not eh.
The See monster does look like a small Southern Nothern Sea Gas platform, based on it's shape.
Oil and gas is my background and it is far too small to have been used in the Nothern North Sea, nor would I think it was an oil rig. Traditionally a rig only becomes a rig if there is a drilling derrick or drilling rig present. I doubt that the See Monster had one. As it came from Holland I would put my money on it being a retired Southern Nothern Sea Gas platform.

I actually saw an article where it was mentioned in The Telegraph this week as it is part of the UNBOXED celebration.

this led me down a rabbit hole to find that SEE MONSTER is one of ten major creative projects commissioned as part of UNBOXED: Creativity in the UK. However these projects are only in England, Northern Ireland and Wales. Scotland and its alleged leadership leaves a lot to be desired at times..

Back to the question you posed and kudos to you for vounteering, I would think it is aimed at children with visual impairments, based on the hand and dogpaw. So am thinking guide dogs, if so that will be interesting, many platforms use gratings as walkways, many dogs don't like walking on these.

Either way, I shall be looking for your update post. One good thing isthat you won't be on See Monster in the North Sea with gle force 8 winds and 100 foot seas. Not fun I tell you, especially when the weather stops the choppers flying and your two week rotation offshore becomes four 🤣

I never knew you were in the oil and gas industry, and I never knew there's a difference between Southern Northern Sea and Northern North Sea 😅

I think they mentioned that this was part of a larger rig, there were four bits to it, and they got the smaller bit. Does that make sense?

And you're absolutely correct about it being part of the Unboxed project. The project is so delayed that it's missed the entire summer holiday and is now target to open sometime this month. I have another newer post where they did a drone show to create awareness about the See Monster, luckily that went down well with the locals who were not pleased at all with the delays.

When I put my hand up to volunteer a few months ago, I said I wouldn't mind going on the top deck as I figured it would be lovely to be 35m high looking out in the sea. But now I'm not sure if I want to battle that in the autumn months and it gets dark much earlier. We might not get the North Sea force 8 winds here, but it's still pretty windy!!!

Quite often you had little clusters of platforms that are close together, so it might be one of those.
Yep was in oil and gas for many years and got paid to work all over the world, so was fun although most of the places were in war-torn countries. That is what oil greed and corruption does to people.

Yes I read it was delayed and then shocked to find it was only for two months. Well make sure you do wear some thick jackets when you go up top, although I am sure if it is too windy, they won't let visitors on!

Just watched the 400 drones video, that was epic, although seeing them all line up reminded me of Star Wars, and then seeing them in action was amazing however also terrifying to me, thinking about what could happen when they do that themselves.

I loved the animated See Monster, that reminded me of Nessie:)

Congrats on breaking the big 8, wow! Your stake has been growing impressively fast lately :)

Very kind of you that you decided to volunteer at the event. My guess would also be that your training was aimed at visually impaired visitors :)

@tipu curate

What a great achievement, congratulations on your success as a content creator and as a persevering person working towards your goals.

You very much deserve the reputation and the place you are today, when I grow up I want to be like you 😂.

Girlfriend, I always forget to powerup the first few 😩 I remember when I see your post.

I think you prepared yourself to guide visually impaired people, specifically children. @livinguktaiwan 😉🤗

Set a reminder on your phone on the last day of each month so you will remember to power up in future!!

And good luck with your guess this month!

Thank you. I will

This is another interesting contest to participate and also congrats on your HP that is achieved. My answer to this contest is that the group of visitors you were trained for was those that are willing to know more about see monster.

Thanks for your entry!!

First of all, congratulations to your hive power up 🥳

Secondly, I am thinking about the possible answer from the moment I saw this post 🤣

So yes, those glasses there on the table, and the image of the child that is holding something in its hand, like a stick (hmm, or maybe a dog 🤔 ) can mean that you were helping the visually impaired visitors.

But maybe we are all having a false answer 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks @mipiano!

Maybe you're all going in the wrong direction then you'll all get lost together 😃

I think that your trainng was for those that are blind based on the slide ont he projector. In addition, the clue of lending a hand. Congratulations on reaching and surpassing your goal.

Thanks @momogrow , good luck with your guess!!!

My guess is people with vision impairments.

Congrats on cracking 80k! That's a huge achievement.

Thanks @leaky20, took me a while but got there in the end

As other Hivers already said, this looks like a training for blind/visually-impaired persons, as the kid on the flyer is (probably) using one of those "walking sticks".

!LUV

Hi,. How are you? Good to see you in Hive,. It has beef a long time since we were together during steemit Malaysia days.

Good good! How have you been?

Yay, I'm so happy for you. 81k is like more than 40 times what I have. Awesome! Congratulations. And I see you doing 90k by year end.

My answer is for school children. If this is correct, you must be pretty excited knowing how you love to be with kids 😊

It's a big stretch to get to 90k by year end, I doubt I can achieve that. Let's see!

Congratulations for your new achievement.

Your training is for people that have physical challenges on how to go about helping them to live an happy life

Good luck with your entry!!!

81,000HP? Wow! thats a big number. Congratulations for it @livinguktaiwan.

You're training is to help people with disabilities particularly for a blind persons.

Thanks for your kind words! And good luck with your entry

Oh I am excited to know the correct answer @livinguktaiwan. Im right or not is okay and just happy and thankful for you to give or share your precious time as a volunteer to those group of people.

Thanks for your kind words @jenthoughts, that's so lovely of you

My guess to this is that your are been trained to help the disabled ones with sight problem.

Thanks for entering!!

Great growth @livinguktaiwan wow… what a beautiful number.

As I had my answer ready and some were already looking in the same direction.
I have to add.
The people that can’t see (well) and bring their guide dogs 🦮 with them 😉🤓

Happy power up day! 🥳🥳🐝🐝👋🏻

Hi Jackie, thanks as always for dropping by. Let's see if you are all looking at the right direction!!!😃

Ahh, I totally forgot it was HPUD today! Silly me, I don't think I have any liquid Hive available either!

Never mind, there's always next month!!

Happy Hive PUD @livinguktaiwan 💪🐝
See you soontm in Amsterdam

Look forward to seeing you again soon @arcange !

Hey, Congratulation to this milestone! The See Monster deserve such retirement, it is good the place will be use for Art and definitely will be a centre of attration.

As to the guss game, it is really looks like the community that is supporting the people with viisial imparement as there is a paw on the slide but also girl with a white cane.

I guess the See Monster definitely has a much better retirement result than many other rigs!

Good job to hive power up on first day
