For the second month in a row I'm glad I extended the amount of time I have to do the results back in October (bumped it up from the 5th of the month to the 7th for the Official Results), because I needed it this month again! Although this is the first month since September we haven't hit a new ATH (all time high) number of participants, we were only off by 3 - can't complain about that, especially given the power up total ended up being the highest this year (and maybe since we started back in 2019 - hoping to confirm that by tomorrow's post).
Now as always, a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to this month's Hive Power Up Day, either through powering up, posting, offering prizes, or spreading the word. As I said on @hivebuzz's Feedback from the December Hive Power Up Day post (and for the second month in a row, HiveBuzz hit an ATH number of participants!)...
In the cryptosphere, the bear continues to slumber through this crypto winter, but it doesn't seem too frosty here on Hive. Once again (and dare I say for the fourth month in a row without jinxing it) there's been a ton of excitement around Power Up Day today, and I have a good feeling about the participation numbers again for December! 🙂
Seems like we're also getting new faces joining in, which I think is one of the best parts of Power Up Day - seeing newer, smaller accounts taking steps to grow their stake, which also builds their influence in the community. What a great thing to be able to celebrate the first of every month!
As always, a big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in this Power Up Day by powering up, posting, and/or shouting out on all traditional web 2.0 social media. All of those things help shine a light on the blockchain, which in turn helps to grow our community. Special thanks to @hivebuzz for always BEEing such an incredible buzz-maker for Hive Power Up Day, and for continuing to add to the blockchain fun. And here's to all the Hiveans, new and old, who continue to increase their voting power and influence on the blockchain - congratulations to you all!
I wasn't entirely wrong - only two more participants would've tied last month, and three would've given us the ATH, but as I said - not complaining in the slightest, because all in all I think the results are...
So to break it all down, we had 126 qualifying entries for the prize pool (same as in November) with 207 total entries (compared to 209 last month) and 227 posts with either the #HivePUD, #HPUD, and/or #HispanicHPUD tags on the first (last month we had 229).
For the overall number, the power ups ranged from 0.008 to 6333.333 (my own personal best power up!) Hive Power for a grand total of...
35,116.131 Hive Powered Up!
By comparison, the total in November was 18,606.096. That's an increase of almost 89% from last month. Any way you look at it, I call that...

Hello, Amazing One. Hmm, I see that I've powered up 11 HIVE but I thought I'd done 10. Which means I probably messed up my HPUM! How do I check?? I mean, I guess I could just keep powering up 1.000 HIVE every day just after UTC midnight and see if I get the Hivebuzz badge at the end?
Nope, I'm pretty confident in saying you haven't messed up your #HPUM - because we have a worldwide community, Asher allows for a little wiggle room on either end of the 24 hours of the first (different from the UTC time zone requirement for the badges). The months I attempted #HPUM I had a similar thing happen, which is how I know. 😁
