"They Got Money for Wars, But They Can't Feed The Poor..."

in Deep Dives10 months ago

It is estimated that in 2019, 690 million people were undernourished, and by 2030, this number is projected to rise to 840 million or more, according to Binance Charity. There is no doubt that world hunger remains a pressing global issue, but who is taking responsibility to address it?

Tupac had a verse in one of his songs that truly opened minds, saying: "They have money for wars, but they can't feed the poor." He hit the nail on the head. Just imagine how many impoverished individuals could be fed with the $715 billion allocated to America's military budget in 2022.

That's nearly a trillion dollars being spent on so-called "defense." Personally, I'm not buying into these narratives. If it weren't for invasions by other countries and America's financial support of wars around the world, they wouldn't need such excessive defense spending.

The war in Iraq cost the US a staggering $2.4 trillion, closely followed by the war in Afghanistan at $2.313 trillion. The ongoing war in Ukraine, which some argue is a proxy conflict, has already consumed $75 billion of taxpayers' money.

The official narrative surrounding this war focuses on Russia's alleged invasion of Ukraine, but little attention is given to the American-funded bioweapons and bio labs discovered by the Russians in Ukraine.

Is the US truly defending against these threats? Maybe, or perhaps it's also attempting to weaken Russia and its leader, Putin, who has been consistently exposing the elites' plans. These plans include depopulation, the destruction of moral principles and family values, and the dismantling of entire nations.

The crux of the matter is that America, and others alike, manage to find vast resources to support or initiate wars worldwide, spending trillions upon trillions on such conflicts. However, they still haven't managed to eradicate poverty or address the rampant malnutrition that likely claims millions of lives each year.

The individuals in power have no interest in feeding the poor or aiding underdeveloped countries in their growth and prosperity. Their interest lies in perpetuating more wars, expanding their control, and extending their dominion over territories and populations.

I do not advocate for passivity or constant foreign aid to underdeveloped countries where millions suffer from malnutrition and lack proper medical care. However, just imagine the transformative impact if the trillions poured into wars were redirected towards assisting these nations in their development.

Communities in Ghana are now gaining access to fresh water through initiatives like Hive, a blockchain-based social media society comprising a few thousand members. Interestingly, none of the trillions spent on wars over the decades has managed to reach such people and fulfill their basic needs.

Another blatant falsehood is the notion that the American defense services require such exorbitant funds. In reality, America is not utilizing any of that money to defend itself against any immediate threat. Most, if not all, of these funds are spent abroad. Ponder on that for a moment.

Anyway, I don't intend to turn this post into a full-fledged thesis on the topic, but I simply felt compelled to write about it. What are your thoughts?

Thanks for your attention,
Adrian

and we are waiting for World War 3, There will be blood

We don't know for sure.

Maybe you are right or wrong. But if you want to remain on the top, you need to always develop innovation to keep going with competition around the world.

On this premise world hunger will always lose against military funding.

I believe that governments exist mainly to facilitate the transfer of public money into private hands. Wars and vaccines make trillions for the arms and pharma industries. There's no profit in feeding the poor.

Good point.
