COVID Used as a 'Reason' to Take Children from Parents

in Deep Dives4 years ago (edited)

Months ago an apparent fake letter made the rounds on social media. It had California threatening to take children away from parents who were allegedly infected with COVID-19. The letter was denounced as not real by some authority working for a department that it was purported to come from.

Later there was the Ventura County, California stating they would take people from their homes if they were infected and didn't have more than one bathroom for people to use.

"We also realize that as we find more contacts, some of the people we find are going to have trouble being isolated. For instance, if they live in a home where there is only one bathroom and there are three or four other people living there, and those people don't have COVID infection, we're not going to be able to keep the person in that home."

This doesn't exclude children from being taken. They didn't move forward on those plans right away, as there was an uproar against the statements of taking people from homes and put them elsewhere.

It seems some moves are being made to take children from their parents based on COVID as an excuse. In mid-June, a lawyer posted a shocking account of CPS recommended to the court to take a child away from his client.

Today in dependency court maddness, LA County Dept. of Children and Family Services (DCFS) recommended that the court remove my client's child from their physical custody after the parent tested positive for COVID-19. This is a non-offending parent. The judge ruled in favor of DCFS and detained.

Let that sink in . . . DCFS is asking for children to be removed from their parents custody due to COVID-19 despite the parent making the appropriate arrangements for their child.

Edit: To be clear, as the author of this post, I completely support taking appropriate precautions recommended by the CDC to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The judge listened to the "experts", and took the child away from the parents who did nothing wrong. The warnings of this coming, and the denouncements of "this can't happen here" are revealing who was right.

As far back as March, there were signs of authorities justifying taking children under the justification of COVID-19. A local CBS new station, WGME, reported that the "CDC recommends separating newborns from moms to help stop spread of coronavirus."

New CDC guidelines recommend separating new moms, who have the coronavirus, from their newborns.

That means they could be separated for up to two weeks.

The goal is to keep newborns from contracting the respiratory disease.

The CDC says the mothers should be involved in the decision and health workers should discuss the risks and benefits of such separation.

Some expectant moms are worried interrupting the mother-child bonding will have negative repercussions for the child.

The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital are among the facilities following those guidelines.

Johns Hopkins says the mother has the final say.

I went to find the CDC recommendation to verify myself. And I found it. Under the page "Evaluation and Management Considerations for Neonates At Risk for COVID-19" there is a section "Mother/neonatal contact". It states:

Although it is well recognized that the ideal setting for care of a healthy term newborn while in the hospital is within the mother’s room, temporary separation of the newborn from a mother with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 should be strongly considered to reduce the risk of transmission to the neonate.

Although temporary separation of a neonate from a mother with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 should be strongly considered in healthcare settings, it may not always be feasible. For these situations, the risks and benefits of temporary separation of the mother from her baby should be discussed with the mother by the healthcare team, and decisions about temporary separation should be made in accordance with the mother’s wishes.

The official recommendations are said to always be subject to approval by the mother. But if you have followed some cases of "medical kidnapping" where the authorities known as doctors and CPS work to take children from loving parents, you would know there is a lot of pressure put on parents to do as the authorities say. If you don't, they can threaten you and it can end in CPS taking your children away. I have covered some of these stories before.

As an example of this actually happening:

Washington State “health officials” kidnap newborn baby after false-positive coronavirus test of parent

Shortly after giving birth, Lindsay Wright, the Mom, was said to have tested positive for COVID-19. “Her [Lindsay’s] child was immediately taken from her arms,” according to Kelli Stewart of Washington State Peoples Rights Coalition. “The husband was removed from the hospital by the police.” CPS initiated efforts to strip the Wrights of their parental rights, on grounds of COVID-19.

Thankfully, they raised awareness in their community who rallied behind them in protest. Due to their fortunate support and protests outside the hospital, they released the baby after a second test declared the mother "negative".

The CDC and other "guidelines" from the medical establishment may profess to leave the decision up to the mother. But that demonstrably does not always happen as the authoritarian mindset takes away parental rights. We need to be vigilant in these times of people trying to take control over our lives and strip us of our rights.

Sort:

This smacks of the disappeared in Chile. Thousands of children were taken from their parents, who were often murdered, and adopted by regime families.

Particularly insuperable for this reason, as kids are almost completely regarded as immune to SARS2 harm. ~80% of deaths from this virus are people over 80, and almost none of them from kids.

This is rampant child abuse, and a crime against humanity.

Thanks!

Yup, it's maddening to see medical tyranny. There is a huge problem with treatment of children in the world.

I have read somewhere that the chance that a child dies from Covid is less probable than lightning hits it...

Children have a way more stronger immune system than adults...

Yes I've heard similar analogies. I haven't looked into how accurate they are ;)

This is disturbing to hear, but thanks for sharing.

I fear a lot of the power COVID-19 has given many state entities will not be easily given up when this scare is over.

Suriname recently eased lockdown and quarantine restrictions due to the hardship and mental health problems it was causing poor families living in small homes.

Yeah, they might ease the control in one place, but incraease it elsewhere in identity passports and tracing ...

Take a look at the fine print of the 'Holy Bonds of Matrimony' in most states sometime.

Yes some allow underage marriages. I learned about that in writing a piece a while back about mail order brides and how the state isn't protecting children from being imported to "husbands"... sick...

Something has to happen, and fast. Taking a newborn from a mother is traumatizing for both mother and child. Because of a test that shows over 50% false positives.

Yup the world has gone even crazier, power grabbing and more tyranny.

That appears to be "legalized" kidnapping of children, in a country that artificially inflates the count of COVID-19 positives.

@theissen

May I know what is wrong with my comment that caused you to downvote it? I just said my opinion which is highly relevant to the post.

People downvote because they don't like stuff.

@krnel

I am surprised by the downvote, because it was actually the first time that I was downvoted intentionally (I was downvoted accidentally a few times before, but they were withdrawn).

I looked at theissen's (@ tag intentionally removed to prevent notifying them) behavior, and noticed that they appear to really "don't like stuff", because of their unused upvote mana and low downvote mana.

By the way, thanks for your reply and upvote.

Yup, legalized kidnapping under bullshit false justifications.

Thank-you @krnel for submitting this post with the #familyprotection tag. It has been UPVOTED by @familyprotection and RESTEEMED TO OUR Community Supporters.
"Child Protection Agencies" are taking children away from their loving families.
THESE FAMILIES NEED PROTECTING.

This is really really wrong on so many levels.
