Thank you to all nearly 40 of you who posted for this weeks QOTW! your responses were just perfect.. and im happy to say a great mix up too! It would have been a bit concerning if everyone would have posted that we shouldn’t have kids any more that’s for sure.,. as a few of you pointed out.. that might well mean the end of the human race as we know it!... There were so many wise words and stories shared.. no one can read it all.. that would take all week! but somehow i manage to go through each one and pluck out a relevant and meaningful sentence or two for us all to see in one page.
As a mother of 5 and 11 foster children, I say today: No (btw my children know how I think and feel about it).
The overpopulation crisis is important to control, so a maximum of two seems to be enough...
I think that having children is a decision for brave and responsible men and women. if we are prepared to have children, we must do so, and if it is in our ability to help or adopt a defenseless child, we can also do it.
Honestly I have some mixed views and feelings about this... there is no clear Yes or No for me. It is surely a very difficult time and a challenging task to be thinking of parenthood for the younger generation.
The activities handed over to us by our ancestors run in a circle, Birth-Grow-work-marry-reproduce-die, our children take it on and follow the same pattern, if one of the elements from this circle is removed, then human at a point stops existing.
We need to begin living more consciously, more connected, so that the next generation are more aware and more proactive. The change starts with us and continues with our children and surely that is a good thing!
Children's are love and we should love our children.
Kids are innocent and they should not be harmed or judged wrongly, as an infant your life is categorized by the people around you.
Government should set in measures in having kids and also measures in child support, so that to help curb the abuse of kids and by so doing the good GOD would help us in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
I do not think it is wise to cut the cycle out of fear, whether it is justified or not. We are not gods to decide if the earth deserves to be populated with new blood and a constantly evolving spirit.
have always thought that bringing children into the world is a great responsibility, I consider that if you can not offer them security and a standard of living that allows them to maintain and educate them, it is better not to have them, but that is only my personal assessment.
I do not believe that happiness in the world depends on the number of habitants, that the quality of life is limited to the fact that if we exist less there will be more for others, it depends on our empathy, on our ability to act to help others.
Children are gift from God and a blessing bestowed on a family to be care for and as the only possession in the entire life on Earth.
A child does not deserve to suffer in this world, and I feel it's best that if one can't care for a child, they should not even contemplate having one.
We should still give birth to children regardless of all the calamities going on in the world today, but we should always remember to impose them with good moral values, influence them positively ,and try as much to help them fulfill and achieve their goals in life.
Kids are the God gifts and their presence make our life more happening and happy. Mine does, their chirpy smile does take away all pain and worry.
In my opinion, couples who are living in poverty should wait till they are ready both financially and mentally before bringing kids to this world. We already have enough children suffering, let's not add to the numbers.
My submission to the question,It's is more ethical to have children than be logical about it. Apart from the joy, happiness, laughter that comes from having children, the survival of the human race depends on it.
I tell you with much satisfaction that my prayer was answered and not with one child but with three, my husband and I are very proud that although they grew up in scarcity, when we look at our past we remember the blessings we have had together, and that they are three young people with excellent qualities and morally and spiritually equipped to face difficulties.
I have seen that many people do not want to bring children into the world because of various problems. But I think it's a misconception.
Talking about having children today is not the same as in the past, the cost of living is not the same, there are more needs to cover thanks to the change of pace. It is also necessary to take into consideration the pandemic problem.
my answer would be yes. That's mainly because I love kids and moreover, I would love to see and hold my own flesh and blood round my arms and what them grow.
This is a very complex situation that speaks of an unprecedented social decomposition, where we are all responsible,
if you compare this to a normal period after a child is born. It's supposed to be filled with love and loved ones, which wasn't possible for them. I would not want to risk another child growing up in even weirder circumstances.
Each person has free will and decides what to do or not to do, in my case I have 5 children and all of them arrived in difficult economic times and served as a catalyst for a greater effort on our part.
If, in spite of avoiding having them in the ways we already know, you become pregnant, love and care for them. It is a double blessing that God has sent you. Only He knows the reasons why He has placed it in your arms.
Children can help fix the mistakes their parents made. So, giving birth to children is one way to get this done.
All the trouble in this world can best be conquered by raising children in the right way
Everyone makes their own decisions and this is mine: I don't want to have children for now and I don't know for how long.
I think having children is not the problem but the number of children is the problem.
If you raise your children any way like I raise mine, then they will spend a good share of their money, andtime, on truly doing good.
If all of us decide not to have children, the future of the planet would be in imbalance, and the human being disappears from the earth, that is why despite the adversities that exist on the planet such as the terrible Covid19 virus, I think that we must have a child in order to guarantee the existence of humanity, children are the hope and future of a country.
I truly agree it's important to have one of your own but after that, if you ever feel the need of having one more, just think about those kids out on the street and no one to look after. If you can, support them.
