in ecoTrain3 years ago

What's up everyone! Welcome back to another instalment of our What’s Up curation of posts on many great topics from the ecoTrain community. What makes our community so interesting for me is that there are so many great posts on various themes that are so important to everyone, and the world around us. There are more and more of us who are starting to make some changes and try things like growing food. It is a great journey and so rewarding. You will see some of our posts from our friends who share some great imagery and stories of their personal journeys. Its inspiring fun and educational all at the same time! A big shout out to @holisticmom who posted a great update about her cob building adventures. It always makes me happy to see people building, experimenting and just getting down and doing it! So have a scroll down and check out this weeks hand picked posts from the whole community. Let us know in the comments which post you liked the most!

Building With Cob Is Good For The Environment & The Soul

When we first moved onto our land, it was simply that. Just land. No outbuildings, Nada. Just Olive trees as far as the eye can see, set in a valley surrounded by hills. As much as I loved to shower outdoors and answering the call of nature with the breeze gently caressing my backside, we really did need a place to wash and do our business that was a little less exposed to the elements.

We had tried our hand at building with earthbags, but in the searing Spanish nighttime heat, this was backbreaking work digging up the soil, dumping it into the bags, and then carrying the bags into their final resting place. Perhaps if there had been a team of us it may have been easier, but it was just the two of us and a little help from the little dudes when they took an interest.

Esp/Eng Causa y efecto vida presente y pasadas/ Cause and effect present and past lives

Today we live in a present that we have created in the past; what we are cultivating today is the fertilizer for what we will harvest tomorrow.
Each one of us has different concepts about the value of life. We feel and think what things have more value and we go towards that direction in many occasions without being conscious of the actions and decisions we take to achieve them.
Some religions and spiritual currents, such as Buddhism and Tao, use the concept of karma or the law of cause and effect. The law of cause and effect states that people's actions have repercussions, sooner or later, in their own lives.
If our actions are good, we will receive positive consequences; if they are bad, the consequences will be negative.

WHO ARE THE MOST RELEVANT PEOPLE OF OUR TIME FOR ME?

With no doubt my father and here is a poem our fathers:

My dad love
MY dad is longing
MY father assumed him as he did
MY eyes are looking at me and looking forward to my life
Dad feel

MY father responds
My father, the distance will be long
And MY father, you can see my love for you
Own my heart and in myself
MY father blames ...

6 More Salvaged Curbside Recycling Items Resold For $733 (72 Pounds Saved!)

First sale: Litter Robot 3 Automatic Cat Litter Bin for $300 cash, 22 lbs:

The story behind it:

After staying up all night to list items for sale, I talked myself into starting my recycling hunt walk at 5:15 AM. Sigh. Exhausted, and not wanting to throw my sleep pattern off too much, I made a deal that I'd go home as soon as I found one item to resell.

Tire Blew, Grain, Travel, Hot Springs - Wednesday

Very early morning yesterday as I had to run to town to pickup a barrel of grain. I had toyed with the idea of loading the empties into the truck and just taking it but in the end chose to haul the trailer with. That proved to be a mistake. As I was heading home on the bypass I was just cresting the hill when the tire blew on the trailer. I limped it down the hill past a trooper in the median watching for speeders and then took the exit for @stryeyz work. I dropped the trailer next to the train tracks then mobbed home to get a tire and jack. I first had to empty the barrel though. In the background is the boat on its trailer which is what I had to steal a tire from.

Welcome dear readers of this prestigious platform, continuing with the approach associated with the effects generated by climate change, in this installment we will be studying the behavior of marine clouds and their influence on the regulation of global temperature. As has been constant in my publications, this conceptual approach will be shared through the @ecotrain community who are characterized by the dissemination and support of topics of environmental interest.

NEWS FROM THE MEADOWS - 20. May 2021

I spent the whole morning, and some hours around noon, taking photographs in the tall grass of the lush meadows not far from my hometown.

On these photographs you can see two spiders, two different but similarly shaped species with similar hunting style, that are present in big numbers in this habitat. On the left is the Tibellus oblongus from the philodromidae familly, commonly known as running crab spiders ... and on the right is the Pisaura mirabilis from the pisauridae family, commonly known as nursery web spiders.

@ecotrain is a global Hive community gathered around the concept of natural giving, living in harmony with nature and making our world a better place. Changing the world starts with changing ourselves and the way we live, love, work and create together as communities .

We deliberately and consciously curate those posts, blogs & vlogs which speak to the issues, challenges and needs of community living and the emerging Hive ecoVillage communities around the world.

Here are some of the topics we support and curate on:

ECOTRAIN SUPPORTS

Facilitating off-grid sustainable living, local trade & commerce!
ecoVillages is a new paradigm in self sufficient building and living, based on empowered groups that live off-grid with little to no bills or debt using earthship biotecture. What lies at the core of ecoVillages is that it is a model that embraces decentralisation in every way. We make sure every aspect of life is as close to home as possible, and under an individual’s control!

Our primary goal is to facilitate others to build and live in the most sustainable way using earthship biotecture, to provide a lifetime of self sufficiency with almost no ongoing bills and maintenance. Our model begins in rural areas with a lot of land available at low cost. Our model is decentralised and so homes will be spread out with each person or collective owning their land outright, but are a part of a strong and supportive community.
