What's Up! from the ecoTrain community Season 2 #4. Sustainable Off Grid Living + More

in ecoTrain3 years ago (edited)
Authored by @eco-alex

What's Up everyone! I want to begin this week by letting you all know that from now on all of the ecoTrain community posts are declining the rewards. If you didn’t know, that is what it means when you see the post value greyed out with a line through it. This is great for the ecosystem as it means that all of the rewards that would have gone to the ecoTrain account instead go back to the main reward pool for others to share.

The reasons for doing this is so that it is now 100% clear what we are about. That is to say, our message and our purpose is really to bring awareness to the many topics that the ecoTrain support. Over the past months there have been several issues where some people are either unhappy with curation posts receiving high rewards, or in some cases people have doubted our integrity and motives. Let it be said that at this stage in my life, i care much more about the health of Hive as a model and new decentralized paradigm than i do about rewards. I also care much more about supporting off grid living and sustainability in general.

It feels good to post with rewards declined, and i hope everyone can enjoy up-voting and supporting our posts and causes without any thoughts about rewards or who gets what! I really haven’t got time or patience to deal with these issues. Our main focus is HIVE, YOU, and making this crazy world a much better place to live in!

With that said, i would like to share this weeks best posts from the ecoTrain community! We support posts on many topics! We are about so much more than just homesteading, gardening or healthy eating. We cover a myriad of topics relating to living a natural, healthy and happy life, as well of course as living off grid and self sufficiently. Thank you to everyone who is posting in our community, it is amazing to see SO many of your posts getting great rewards and I thank all the curators on Hive for supporting them and the topics that we hold dear.

@ecotrain is a global Hive community gathered around the concept of natural giving, living in harmony with nature and making our world a better place. Changing the world starts with changing ourselves and the way we live, love, work and create together as communities .

We deliberately and consciously curate those posts, blogs & vlogs which speak to the issues, challenges and needs of community living and the emerging Hive ecoVillage communities around the world.

Here are some of the topics we support and curate on:
"Sustainability, ecoVillages, Community, Self-sufficiency, Off-grid Living, Homesteading, Permaculture, Alternative Energy, Alternative Lifestyle, Natural Health, Cooking, Eco-Building, Earthships, Recycling, Esoteric, Inner Transformation, Spiritual, Nature

Excesses (depression, stress and anxiety) / Excesos (depresión, estrés y ansiedad) (ENG/ESP)

A new week begins and with it many things to attend whether we have a job, to which we must move or perhaps attend from home, not counting personal life, home offices and those unforeseen events that were not in our schedule, but out of nowhere, often you have to run to solve them because sometimes you can not leave them aside, or at least not for long; this made me remember a video I received by WhatsApp from a friend, this man speaks or mentions two issues for which people always go to therapy and are: depression and anxiety, but he decides to add a third one and it is stress, there he chooses to call them the three Aves Marias for which people go to therapy more, each one is different, but they have a point in common and it is that they are all excesses. So, that video inspired me to write these lines, if you want to know more stay.

CORPORATE CAPITAL IN ORDER TO IMPROVE ENVIRONMENTAL IMBALANCES

Welcome dear members of the #hive platform. This publication serves as a mechanism that allows us to understand the role of companies in issues of social and environmental interest, for this we will use as support a survey developed in the Sustainable Work Environments Report 2021 As has been constant throughout my publications, I share topics of environmental interest through the @ecotrain community, who are trending in environmental care and preservation. In this sense, it is no secret to anyone, the serious planetary situation we are living, a situation that somehow has declined because of the confinement that has caused the current pandemic, where there is evidence that our air has presented a purification around 60%, in cities where pollution levels are alarming and threaten the health and welfare of the population

Drones that can act as pollinating agents for plant species

The most evolved plant species or Angiospermae have a specialized reproductive apparatus, with the capacity to generate pollen granules that after their physiological maturation are transferred from the male reproductive organ to female structures (androceo) (gynoecium).

The transfer described above is carried out by pollinating agents, mainly insects, including bees, which have a certain potential to detect variations in flower color and encode this signal and biologically associate it with a greater availability of carbohydrates.

6 More Salvaged Free Curbside Recycling Finds Sold For $466

Here are more household items I’ve recently plucked from my city’s curbs for free and resold. For those who may be new to my posts, I most often find items by walking my streets that are lined with piles of clear plastic bags, boxes, and trash bags... all loose and in plain view.

Some see it as waste. I think GOLD MINE and crypto funds.

While some people dabble in this practice here, I’m shocked that more don’t do this as a hobby at least. There’s an overwhelming amount of valuable stuff in sight during the day, despite my preference to have privacy and quiet time at night, which means that I likely miss some of the easy pickings.

The way our crop land is getting lost!

This universe is expanding. But our planet is specific. That is, the amount of land on our planet is fixed. We all know that the amount of water is more than the amount of our car land but the number of people on our planet is increasing day by day. And The number of crop lands is constantly decreasing. i.e. our planet is going to face population problem.

Who is responsible for this?

The main problem of population is people i.e. people are the main source of all problems. This is the answer to a familiar question we all know.

But there is another problem. That is our mentality. In other words, the population problem is not just a problem for the whole world. In my opinion, it is because of our mentality that the whole world and our planet is going to face huge problems.

Einstein vs Tesla: The Time Has Come For the Truth To Be Shown

Many times i have said, "Everything i learned in college science class i later learned was wrong, EVERYTHING!"

And, i am going to try to give a taste of that here.

Which do you believe in:

Most people would start off with, "I choose both" or "why do i have to make a choice"?

However, there is no choice. It is a choice between A and Not-A.

Is it really that linear? That black and white?

YES !!!!

Is it really healthier to live in the countryside? || Beautiful rural life || The authenticity of the interior tribes ! !

The leaves fell to the ground, then the wind came and took them away from the branches where the wind went. Other leaves also sway in the wind, feeling cool in the body. Spending the afternoon by cycling is very fun, in addition to training the leg muscles it also improves blood circulation to our limbs. Today I spent around the countryside right next to the beach. Even though I ride alone without a lover, I still feel happy.

When the sun sets in the afternoon, many people do sports, perform various roles, from jogging, lifting the barbell, exercising, pedaling a bicycle and so on. Like what I did today, circling the shoreline when the sun begins to set in the northwest, cycling is also a sport, even though it's an activity to spend the afternoon, but it has benefits for our bodies.

Learning Solar Energy #2 | Attempting to Understand Solar Panel Efficiency

On our previous post regarding solar energy we learned that panels have an efficiency that goes somewhere between 10% and 20% depending on the build. These numbers don't seem very encouraging when compared to natural gas power plants that go over 50%. But what does the efficiency actually mean and how relevant is it?

The first solar cells, made back the 1800s, had an efficiency of less than 1%, which made them unviable. In 1955 a cell of 10% efficiency was released into the market by Hoffman Electrics, at the price of $25 USD. Keep in mind it was just ONE CELL, and not a panel. This meant that you would have needed around $4 million USD to build yourself a panel worthy of today's standards.

Being able to obtain a solar panel with 15% efficiency at less than $1000 USD shows that solar energy has come a long way, and there are probably tons of developments on the way.

Spring garden update - Sweet potato slips

About a month ago I started soaking some of my sweet potatoes I grew from last year. I chose some spuds that were already forming eyes so they were ready to start growing. Within a few days they shot off roots and now I have new growth.

Now these vines are a almost a foot tall. Much larger than the previous slips I grew. This year I am trying to grow them much larger to see if they do better in the garden.

Using the Grand Solar Minimum to facilitate the reset cycle & eliminate unwanted history (part 2)

Having examined in part 1 the Great Reset of the 2020s and the idea that Earth undergoes cycles of extreme weather, seizmic & volcanic activity which are capitalised upon by the elite to re-shape the world in which we live, I would like now to give you some examples of how the Grand Solar Minimums of the past have been used for exactly this purpose.

Maunder Minimum (peaking in 1675)

King Charles II was on the throne of England during the early part of the Maunder Minimum and he used this long period of bad weather to reset our understanding of money and to gain ownership of his people & their possessions.

How Social Media Tends To Amplify Negative Values In The Society Where I Come From.

https://images.hive.blog/0x0/https://images.hive.blog/DQmNhCbRtgbeMzV1KBR8aqruZrpUATP3Jqb2ibYidsd9LBa/images%20(19).jpeg

Social media in my society has amplified a lot of negative value which includes the need for hasty money, the pressure to get married before 30, exposure to ventures with unrealistic ROIs, marrying for satisfaction and not for love. These things are what you experience everyday going through facebook or going through twitter.

The one that's obvious is of course the trend of getting married before 30, many people have made this become a sort of societal norm. Most girls hence kill any ambition to dream big thus, aiming to be dependent on whoever choses the become their husbands.

Tilling Garden, Acid Etching - Thursday

I am in the mode of perpetual soreness now that Spring is here. Yesterday I dodged the squalls that came blowing in from the northwest and got some tilling done. First I had to move stuff out of the way to make room. The irrigation lines and plastic all got shoved aside and I moved a bunch of rocks that I could see.

It was windy but I still managed to get the ashes spread out before I started tilling. This section has gotten little ash over the years so it needed it now. The rest of the garden has gotten much more ash spread but it also grows a lot more than this section.

Frugal Gardening Like a MADMAN

Doing it on the cheap!

After purchasing a modest load of topsoil and compost, I fight the rain in an attempt to get some of our raised beds top-dressed. While I'm working on it, I decide to propagate some cherry bushes and stay true to my frugal gardener roots. Enjoy the show!

ecoVillages Update #41. 5Kw Solar Power System Arrives!

I'm very very happy that after MUCH deliberation and fund sourcing ... we now have a gorgeous 5Kw solar power system almost installed. These two Li ion batteries will last for 25+ years or more if we use them smartly. That means no power bills whatsoever... 5kw is a lot of power if you use the right appliances ..

This is real security
think about it ...

ECOTRAIN SUPPORTS

Facilitating off-grid sustainable living, local trade & commerce!

ecoVillages is a new paradigm in self sufficient building and living, based on empowered groups that live off-grid with little to no bills or debt using earthship biotecture. What lies at the core of ecoVillages is that it is a model that embraces decentralisation in every way. We make sure every aspect of life is as close to home as possible, and under an individual’s control!

Our primary goal is to facilitate others to build and live in the most sustainable way using earthship biotecture, to provide a lifetime of self sufficiency with almost no ongoing bills and maintenance. Our model begins in rural areas with a lot of land available at low cost. Our model is decentralised and so homes will be spread out with each person or collective owning their land outright, but are a part of a strong and supportive community.

This is really a good step to help all members in this community. I would also love to donate but that will be later. I am still targeting on reaching a particular goal for my account as I still consider myself as a newbie. I hope others would want to support this community too because it will only favor everyone here.
