MyCalifornia Green Beans in a Pot UPDATE

in ecoTrain3 years ago (edited)

Hello Hivers!!!

I'm back to give you an update on my potted veggies, specifically the green beans!

Firstly, from the last time we checked here and by the looks of all four pots, they are doing well.

The potted Green Beans looks very happy where it is! The leaves are very green although there are specks of white, and I don't know what they are. Are these normal?

The plant continues to flower, then shed its petals revealing the fruit.

Look at the beans! It's unbelievable, LOL!

While they may be low in calories, green beans contain many important nutrients that provide several health benefits. The legumes are full of antioxidants, including vitamin C, flavonols, quercetin, and kaemferol. These antioxidants fight free radicals in the body, which helps to reduce cell damage and may help to lower your risk of certain health conditions.

Green beans are full of fiber, which is an important nutrient for many reasons. It may help to improve the health of your heart by lowering your LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) levels.

In a little while, I'll be able to harvest some of these Green Beans.

I will have fresh green beans, from my garden to the table!

But did you know that there are a variety of Green Beans?

Bush Beans are shorter beans that only grow to be about 2-feet in height.

The second type of bean is Pole Beans and these grow to be about 8-10-feet in height.

The third type of bean is a Runner Bean, the one that I have are Runner Green Beans!

And the last one is one that we may not be very familiar with. It is actually an Asian variety of green beans. They are most commonly found in Chinese markets. They are called Yardlong Beans or String Beans.

Does you market have these different varieties of Beans?

They look very nice... and that reminds me, I need to water my plants! 🤭

The green beans are truly looking nice!
Water your plants, we don't want them to be too thirsty!
Lol!!!😁
Thanks for your visit, and have a great day, @trincowski!😄

You will not believe it... I watered them and on the next day it rained cats and dogs! 🤣

Looking good! There is nothing better than fresh snapped green beans and little red potatoes with a touch of bacon for seasoning! Yummy! I am sure they are going to do well.
You might try google on the white spots and look for your specific kind of spot. It might be something you need to treat. I'm not sure, sis. Take care!🤗😘💕🌸

That will help sis! Be sure to tell me!
I did not realize there were three (four) that look the same!
Before this, I thought there was just one.
And that because I did not bother to find out!
I don't remember learning it from school either.
There are a million things I don't know about.

Hugs and Kisses sis 🥰🌺🤙!!!!

It's great to learn new things! Just imagine how boring life would be if we knew everything already! Take care and have a good night!

You have beans already @silversaver888 !😀
That's the one vegetable that we did not plant this year...
Fresh beans from your garden are the best my friend!!!😀

I get to taste my own produce, @silvertop 😀!
Now, how cool 👍 😎 is that!

Great job! The plants are looking very healthy! And fresh beans to go with your meals. Awesome! 😊

Have a great weekend!

I thought so too!
After the satisfaction of not buying tomatoes and eggplant for a bit because of the potted vegetables last year, I thought of doing it this season again!
It is very satisfying, @quote-haven!!!

Your certainly doing something right these green beans and runner beans are looking fantastic and yummy, great work 👍

It is very satisfying... seeing it grow and bear fruit!
Do you plant veggies? This is my second growing season in pots.

It would be very satisfying to be able to pick them out of your own yard so fresh. I grow some herbs and tomatoes some times love to grow more but just don't have the time.

I'd like to grow more, but I will be overwhelmed by other fruit... hehehe.
I limit it to four pots, just to have them!!!
And you are right, it does require some time to water them...
!ENGAGE 10

That is good thinking over committing can run into problems stick to what you can handle.

Have a great week @silversaver888 😊

You too, @kohsamui99 🥰🌺🤙!!!!

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

hello dear friend @ silversaver888 good day
How beautiful your horatlizas plants are, I appreciate very much that you have shared this update.

I take this opportunity to wish you a splendid weekend

You have a massive garden, @jlufer!
These vegetables in pots are about the number that is right for me and some to give way to the neighbors.
So far, they are healthy. The tomatoes are flowering!

Have a wonderful weekend, my friend!

i do love green beans, keep up the good work

I think that green beans are liked by everyone. I eat it with steak, easy to do.

Hello, pretty lady!! I am so jealous! Look at those beans go! I saw this when you posted it and I was going to comment right away because I thought those white spots could be aphids. Have you ever had aphids? Bring a leaf to your nursery, they can identify it for you. Other than that, they look amazing!

OMG... she is Mr. Green Jeans too. :)) I love all the beans, but, pole beans are one of my favorites. I use them in a few dishes and I love the texture of them. The Chinese beans I get at the Asian market and love those too! I have never tried to grow them.

I love how you took us farm to table! You surprise me more and more each day!!

I am so happy to see you posting in the #MarketFriday tag. It has been a constant challenge I am sure to come up with new material with so many businesses closed down and the fact that many people do not want to go into some of the crowded stores and Markets. In these times when COVID has made it challenging to put together a post, or even search out different locations, I can say with an optimistic attitude that #MarketFriday has survived the pandemic, thanks to all of you. Without your dedication to stretch what we call a market has been done successfully. Thank you! All of you! In doing so, we have discovered that we have added new dimension to the tag. As many have been staying closer to home, I have also discovered more and more about each of you and that has been pretty nice. I have to admit, with the platform broken into different communities and tags, we get to see the same people, more or less that join every week, so we get to know each other a little bit. The challenge points out our differences, but, then, it also shows many things our cultures share. When the day is done, it shows off how human we all are and how we basically all care about our families and others. We embrace each other as humans.

I love the experience of it all. I appreciate the love and support given to #MarketFriday! Thank you! Truly! Your participation adds a piece of your world, and I have to say, people are interested in is seeing it. This entire challenge has opened up the world to me and so many others. Thank you again for being a part of all this! I am so happy to see you here! I hope you have a fabulous day! Hive on!!

Upped and reposted

I knew you would come, it just a matter of time, hehehe.
So many people post using the tag, which is forever popular!
Sometimes I don't know if I should use the tag or not because
I don't want to add another article to your plate!
We all admire what you do for the blockchain!
Good idea!!! I will bring a leaf to a nursery, and I find out what the problem is.
Thanks again @dswigle!
You brighten my day!

Seeetie, you are not adding another article to my plate, you are supporting the tag and i love it!! ❤

Yes, running late because of Mothers Day, so I am blazing through them. Don't stop posting in it! I will be the first to admit that I do wrong little late sometimes oh, but I always get them done except for when Market Friday is on vacation. Which happens from time to time. Love to you and thank you so much for supporting me. By the way, I actually bought more silver but I will have to show you what it is in a post.

I am glad you feel that way!!!
HAPPY Mother's DAY!!

Silver? I look forward to seeing them @dswigle!!!

:)) Thank you!

I will tell you that when the posts come in I usually read them over and then upload them and repost them so that they don't get old or stale. Then I go back and read them and make comments on them oh, so that's probably backwards and takes longer but this way everybody gets their reposted right away

Hahaha... what a deal! How thorough!!!

People put a lot of time and effort in to them, I just want to give the same respect back. ❤️

Yes, definitely!
I have to improve in doing that!
Thanks fr the reminder, sweet @dswigle!

OMG! I am not talking about you, I am talking about me! I know people have to go out to shop or whatever, more effort involved than most tags.

So I want to give back some of what they give me.

But, not you!!! You give me so much, all the time!! XOXO

They are coming along nicely! 😎

Pretty soon, I get to eat them, hahaha!!!

Have a great day, @brian.rrr!

So it is that easy to grow beans! I am impressed and must give it a go, autumn and winter are always great growing vegetable months for my Sunshine Coastal area. Regards Angie🌺

Hi @angiemitchell!
Yes, give it a go!
I only plant 4 pots, and it is more than enough for me, hahaha!
Where is your Sunshine Coastal area, may I ask?

Congratulations @silversaver888, your post won 2nd prize in this weeks Show us Your California contest!!

Hehehe... thank you!!!
