Greetings, friends of the #LadiesofHive community. With this week's edition, where we are invited to reflect on the questions posed by our dear @priyanarc, I would like to share my thoughts with you:

If your family celebrated any holidays when you were a child, do you still have any decorations or ritual objects that were used during your childhood? If so, what is it and what does it mean to you?

The arrival of December means that we are on the eve of Christmas, with it come memories of yesterday, we remember our childhood with our parents, and now we do the same with our children.

The decoration of the Christmas tree and the coloured lights announce that the season of traditions has arrived once again. Christmas is the humility and simplicity that we carry within us, but we have turned it into parties, spending and even stress.

We see lights, people coming and going, and it is up to each of us to make it a humble celebration, as reflected in the birth of Jesus. Perhaps that is why so many feelings come to the surface, because it is a time to be with our families and friends, a time to make peace with those who have offended us or made us feel bad.

On a personal note, I will tell you that since I was a child, my mother taught us that a nativity scene was an essential part of our Christmas decorations at home. Even though we have changed the figures over the years, what is important and special is what each figure taught us and represents, which is why I would like to write to you about them:

The Star is the faith and light that guides our path to God.
The Baby Jesus is God's love for the world.
The Angel is help and protection.
The Virgin Mary is fidelity and love for God.
Saint Joseph is obedience and strength.
The Three Wise Men are gratitude and wisdom.
The Donkey and the Ox are the warmth of home.
The Shepherds and Sheep are work, simplicity, and help.

I grew up in the Catholic faith and I believe that Advent is not only a time to prepare for Christmas, but also a time to remember and reflect on Jesus' entry into history. It is not just a beautiful memory, but the mystery of the Incarnation, which broke down the distance between heaven and earth, because Christ continues to be born in our hearts.

Christ comes into our lives today, in the Word, in prayer. Advent is not just about Christmas, it is not just about preparing the manger, it is not just about celebrating that Christ came once, it is about letting Christ be born in our wounds, our decisions and our relationships with others.

So this is a time for reflection, for being at peace, for believing once again that not all days are the same, that although some are bad, there are also very good ones.

Therefore, let us be aware that saying ‘Christmas’ is synonymous with spiritual contemplation, the birth of Christ as a rapprochement with Jesus, an encounter with our inner child God, a warmth of home where the human and humble heart is the best host of all.

At this time of year, we can once again celebrate the birth of the baby Jesus, turn our hearts into a manger and allow him to be born in them, let him dwell there forever, leave our anxieties and sorrows in his hands, and allow ourselves to be guided by his hand of infinite patience.

Let us continue to take advantage of these moments of reflection, with the main purpose of making this world, our world, a pleasant place full of love and solidarity towards our neighbours, and may the remaining holidays continue to be filled with love and peace for all.

May Jesus be born in your hearts and fill you with peace, love and joy this Christmas and throughout the coming year.

Si tu familia celebraba alguna festividad cuando eras niño, ¿conservas algún adorno, decoración o objeto ritual que usaran en tu infancia? De ser así, ¿cuál es y qué significado tiene para ti?

Con la llegada de Diciembre significa que estamos en vísperas de Navidad, con ella viene a mi mente los recuerdos del ayer, recordamos nuestra niñez, con nuestros padres, ahora hacemos lo mismo con nuestros hijos.

La decoración del árbol navideño, las luces de colores nos anuncian que ha llegado de nuevo la época de tradiciones. La Navidad es la humildad y sencillez que llevamos dentro de nosotros, pero la hemos convertido, en fiestas, gastos y hasta estrés.

Vemos luces, gente que va y viene, y depende de cada uno de nosotros que sea una fiesta humilde, como lo refleja el nacimiento de Jesús; quizás por eso también nos afloran muchos sentimientos, pues es tiempo de encontrarnos con nuestras familias, con nuestros amigos, tiempo de hacer las paces con quién nos ofendió, o nos hizo sentir muy mal.

En lo personal les diré que desde niña mi madre nos enseñó que en la decoración en nuestro hogar no podía faltar en la Navidad un Pesebre, aun cuando hemos ido cambiando las figuras, lo importante y en especial es lo que nos enseñaba y representa cada figura, por lo que me permito escribirles sobre ellas:

La Estrella es la fe y la luz que guía nuestro camino hacia Dios.
El Niño Jesús es el amor de Dios para el mundo.
El Ángel es la ayuda y la protección.
Virgen María es la Fidelidad y amor a Dios.
San Josées la obediencia y fortaleza
Reyes magos es la gratitud y sabiduría
Burro y Buey es la calidez del hogar
Pastores y ovejas son el trabajo, la sencillez y la ayuda.

Crecí en la religión católica y creo que el tiempo de adviento no sólo significa prepararse para la Navidad, sino que nos recuerda y actualiza la entrada de Jesús en la historia, no es sólo un recuerdo bonito, sino el misterio de la encarnación, rompió la distancia entre el cielo y la tierra, porque Cristo sigue naciendo en nuestros corazones.

Cristo viene hoy a nuestra vida, en la Palabra, en la oración, no es sólo el tiempo de Adviento no es sólo Navidad, no es solo preparar el pesebre, no es sólo celebrar que Cristo vino una sola vez, es dejar que Cristo nazca en nuestras heridas, decisiones y relaciones con los demás. Así pues es el tiempo de reflexión, de estar en paz, de volver a creer que no todos los días son iguales, que aunque algunos son malos, también los hay muy buenos.

Por lo tanto, hagamos conciencia que decir: “Navidad” es sinónimo de recogimiento espiritual, Nacimiento de Cristo como un acercamiento con Jesús, un encuentro con nuestro niño Dios interior, un calor de hogar donde el corazón humano y humilde, sea el mejor anfitrión de todos.

En esta época podemos celebrar una vez más el nacimiento del niño Jesús, convertir nuestro corazón en un pesebre y permitirle nacer en él, dejarle morar allí por siempre, dejar en sus manos las angustias, las tristezas, dejándonos guiar por su mano de paciencia infinita.

Sigamos aprovechando estos momentos de reflexión, con el propósito principal de hacer de este mundo, nuestro mundo un lugar agradable lleno de amor y solidaridad para con nuestro prójimo y que el restante de días festivos, siga su curso lleno de amor y paz para todas,
Que Jesús nazca en vuestros corazones e inunde de Paz, Amor y Alegría esta Navidad y todo el próximo año que se aproxima.
