As parents or guardians of children it is expected that we teach them in the right path so as not to falter in lifelong experiences, in essence, we are expected to teach them various call values that would build their characters and help them to be responsible in the society.
Aside from core values, we should also empower them with social development as well as intellectual growth, Life skills and resilience which includes Hard work and perseverance are necessary skills a child should learn from their parents either by experiencing it or learning by the examples laid down for them.
As we all know, children tend to learn by seeing your actions as their parents or their guardians. When we do not expect a child to understand some setting actions, we see them actively explaining what they saw or practicing such actions. Sometimes some children will mistakenly see their parents having sex, although they do not understand the action but it has somehow registered in their minds that something was going on and if care is not taken it would affect the child either positively or negatively.
Firstly, one important lessons I will teach my children is core values and character building these includes a child being responsible, has empathy and is kind, honesty and gratitude. Personally, i feel that aside from the general cultural traditions of a child learning to respect and greet their parents or elders, they should also be taught the core values at an early age because it would go a long way to ensure that as they grow they would practice character building and it will help them in the future.
These days you see children behaving so irresponsible and dishonest that you wonder if their parents are not around to correct the actions of these children. But when you look closely at the parents character, you find out that the apple did not fall far from the tree. The careless nature and attitude of the parents is probably going to lead those kids into damnation in the future.
Hopefully, I meet a partner that we would join hands together to ensure that our kids are kind, honest, hardworking, resilient, grateful for the little things and are intellectually sound. This would not only be a trophy of good upbringing for the parents but for the society and the world at large.

Well said. But honestly these days kids learn most things from the environment. After teaching our children good value let's also pray that bad influence don't get to them.

Children do mostly mirror their parents or guardians, so much of their behaviours are learnt. That it is why it is so important to be aware of our own behaviour around them. They look to us to learn, so we really do need to practice what we preach. Thank you @henrietta27 for responding to this weeks question.
