Tuesday Walk To A Mall

in Ladies of Hive3 years ago

On Tuesday, I was going out with my friend to visit a nearby shopping mall. From my recent experiment, I burned quite a bit of calories while exploring the mall. It did not feel like a chore at all. In fact, it was fun and quite amusing to see so many things around the mall. I mentioned earlier that the mall is not my favorite place to go but since now, I can see how it helped me with my fitness, I don’t see why not.

It was a cloudy day when I began the journey with my friend. We left at around 3 PM and reached the place just ten minutes after. This mall is known for its branded and international stores. It is also one of the biggest malls in town and a premium one. Before people could get into the mall, the security is even inspecting the back of your car if you go with a car. They take the security very seriously in this mall. This mall is also attached to a JW Marriot hotel which is why I think they really tightened the security in this mall. Visitors are also not allowed to bring any metals and the metal detectors would instantly beep if you bring even a nail cutter. After getting down from our uber ride, my friend and I have to scan our vaccination card.

These days, you can not go to the mall without having to show your vaccine passport. It is crucial if you want to visit shopping malls and now, extended to touristic places. However, at that time, my friend’s application was showing a problem. Apparently, there was a connection issue at her end which caused the app failing to scan the barcode that is displayed before the entrance. I offered some help to her and eventually she could get into the place.

The first place that we visited was a store called Nature Republic where my friend wanted to purchase a facial mask. Inside the store, there was this two korean paper figure where I saw some girls were taking pictures with it. I have no idea why they would do that but according to my friend who is a k-popper such a sight is normal to them. They obviously will do and buy anything with their favorite kpop band on it.

Then after that, we walked and walked. We explored the lower ground, level 1 up to level 2. I did not have any plans. I just wanted to walk around and burn some calories. Though I actually had some ideas what to do because I wanted to play at the arcade venue and a place called fit and fun where they have dolls machines and also a massive trampoline. Unfortunately, both places are closed.

After walking for about an hour, both of us were starving. It was already about my dinner time which I always have earlier than it is supposed to be. There were many places to choose from but we ended up exploring the level 4 of this mall. There is a food court overlooking the city and gives a nice view of the city. It was like eating with a view. There were also many foods to choose from this place ranging from Indonesian to international food such as Korean food. We ended up eating at a place called Korean King where they served some traditional Korean meals and also the most delicious dosirak I’ve ever tasted. My friend ordered kimbap, which is the Korean sushi version. It also looks appetizing.

After eating, we decided to explore the mall some more while burning more calories. We walked through the level ground where we found an abandoned lot. It seemed like the store was closed and my friend wanted to take pictures in the murals. So, I took her picture and we stayed there for about 5 minutes before we went to the lowest ground.

In the lowest ground, we found some Christmas trees and Christmas decorated things. I mean, it’s not that Christmas is nearby but yeah, it seems like people love to shop for them earlier.

I also saw some decorations and christmas balls that I wanted to get. It was so festive and fun seeing all of that inside the place. Then, we are moving to another place where they sell household items. It felt like entering a heaven filled with aesthetic items. If I were rich, I would have bought a lot of stuff from there and decorated my living space as aesthetically as possible. I also saw some coffee makers, coffee grinders, and other coffee tools that I would like to have. Overall that walk was fun but exhausting.

Before we left the place, we visited a bakery to get my breakfast ingredient, a wholemeal wheat. Then, my friend got a gelato and I got a baby squid which is apparently a famous taiwanese snack. I have to say that Taiwanese have many interesting and also savory snacks.

We got so tired after all the walks and we decided to order a grab/uber back home. It was already raining heavily and we forgot to bring an umbrella. So, I had to come home drenched in rain. It was not fun but the whole thing was. If only I had the energy to go outside everyday like that, I would.

Then after that, I remember that I forgot to get my coffee. So, I had to order it separately and I waited until a driver wanted to pick up my order and then delivered it to me. You can read my coffee review here Brazilian Santos I was ordering a brazilian santos which was really yummy and you are missing out if you have not tried it.

Finally, I know that there is usually the Wednesday walk but my walk happened on Tuesday, so Tuesday walk it is. Where did you walk recently? Did it make you feel better? Did you also burn a lot of calories?

It's great that you to spend fun time with your friend, and got to chat a lo!
And burn calories in the prices 😜

hahahaha that's true. I was just washing my eyes with all the things I wanted to have but couldn't :D

hehehe 😝😜😵

That's a very big mall! I can imagine how tiring it'd be walking around, very understandable how a trip to the mall makes you burn calories.

haha yes! though these malls are a bit smaller than the one in my province. Apparently, it's going to take about two days just to explore some malls in my province.
