Ladies' Fellowship at Maravilla Beach Resort (Together as One in Love)

in Ladies of Hive11 months ago (edited)

Summertime. The most awaited time of the year for teachers because of our long vacation this season. But this year, it was different. We were still having class until mid of July. Sadly, the Covid-19 Pandemic altered the school calendar, and we are on the new normal which seemed to be not normal for me. It is hard for the students to go to school under the hot temperature of the sun. Sometimes the heat index would hit 40 degrees Celsius. I am more concerned about my daughter that has type 1 Diabetic because her blood sugar goes down easily. And the hot weather made her cough stay for almost a month.

Anyway, summer days still remind me of beautiful memories worth remembering. All I did to feel the summer season this year was look back on the memories I had last year. It was before the full face-to-face classes started. And if you may, stay with me on this blog as I will reminisce about one of those happy summer memories I had. Our Church Ladies Fellowship last summer.

We planned this and had a meeting a month before the event. We agreed to have our first Married Ladies' Fellowship to strengthen our relationship as a church family and experience an exclusive outing to unwind from the busyness of life as mothers. We decided to have our venue on a beach, specifically at Maravilla Beach Resort. Each one will bring food to be shared by all of us.

When the day came for the event, we all got so excited. I prepared 1 kilo Humba, 2 boxes of Choco moist, and a few snacks for the kids. I had no clue what others were bringing, and I was a little worried if all the food would be enough for all of us. Well, let us just see and maybe we could look for additional food available there if it was so, I had in my mind. I was just an overthinker 😅.

When we got there, we were so astonished by the beauty of the nature. It was my second time to come here on this nice beach, but its captivating view still amazes me. White fine sand and a wide shore were the first that caught our attention. But before we went to the entrance gate of Maravilla Beach Resort, we first look for the toilets because it was a long ride going there from our place. It took almost 2 hours to travel because our church vehicle was too old and not as fast due to its condition.

When all of us were done, we proceed to the beach resort and looked for a cottage to stay. We rented a cottage that costs 500Php and settled our things there. All the ladies were inside the cottage while the husbands were outside watching over and taking care of the kids who immediately went to the sea to swim and play.

We started with an opening prayer led by me followed by the singing of worship songs. After was the sharing of life's experiences where we can feel that God is working in our life. I told them that this would be the time we can share more about the problems that we only mothers could deeply understand.

After hours of sharing, crying, and laughing with each's different life stories, it's time to have a break and take our lunch. We put together all the food that each of us brought and it was a lot of food 😍.

I was wrong when I felt worried about the food a while ago hehe. We joyfully ate together as one family together with our husband and kids.

Lunch break was over and we ladies proceeded to our sharing. I was the last one to speak and impart my testimony. I chose to share the worst time of my life, which was when my eldest daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. This was the first time I was able to share with them how I felt during that midnight hour of my life. I was crying while telling them the goodness of God in our life that He spared our daughter's life.

We ended our sharing of testimony with a closing prayer and used the remaining time fellowshipping outside on the seashore. Taking pictures and capturing happy moments together. Some went back to the food and ate again for we felt hungry after hours of teary moments. No one of us opted to dip in the sea, I guess that's one of the signs of being an adult 😂. But the hugs and smiles we had for each other that day brought more joy to our hearts having our goal for this fellowship, together in love.

This is something that every woman should have and glad the husband's were so supportive. In our church, we used to call it small group where we can open up about our life and everyone is there to pray for us.

Yes, true sis. We need this kind of bonding with other ladies once in every month at least.

Wow monthly Ang gathering ninyo?

This is soooo nice! I miss fellowships! You can clearly see that God is already working in your family because the husbands are so supportive and caring and selfless in taking care of the kids. If they're not humble, they wouldn't do that for you and for your family. The ladies who were with you are awesome ladies as well! It's fun to share stories and successes and hardships with everyone - the bond will be close and all those things you're lifting them up to the Creator. Amazing and fruitful activity in the beach!

Thank you Miss @wittyzell truly God is working in our midst every time we come together to share God's word and goodness. Thankful to the husbands for their unwavering support of the ministry. I desire to have this fellowship in our Church at least twice a year since we are so busy.
