Who Shall Teach You? (LOH #97)

in Ladies of Hive2 years ago (edited)

Okay, so before I start, I have to put it out there, that I think we are our own best teachers. The more initiative we take to teach ourselves, the more we learn and the wiser we become. It is Wisdom we need now, it's all well and good to be an intellect, but being wise, being more insightful, is what will help us to really thrive.

Everyone else can guide us and/or show us, but the real learning comes when we find our own way. We can take in the information, that has been presented to us, then make the time to fully process it and figure out, how we can best utilise it, in our own lives.

At the end of the day, we all learn differently, so the way we look at teaching should be different too.

Instead of looking to others to teach us, maybe we should be remembering how we can teach ourselves. Trusting our own gut instinct, when we wish to make decisions. So that we end up, taking the right direction in life.

I can certainly learn from others. There are many people that I admire and whom I trust to educate me further, on the things in life that really interest and inspire me. I have quite a few books from some of them, books that have made me a lot more aware about the world around me and my relationship within it.

Learning is so important, we are born with an innate desire to learn. We are like, little sponges, soaking up everything that surrounds us. Hungry to understand and create a life for ourselves.

Something we should never lose, but unfortunately we have. Losing our way, as we are placed within a system that wishes to keep us in line and train us to be good employees. So that we can be of service, to those in power.

But how about, being of service to the earth. Because when we choose that, then we are being of service to ourselves. Where is the education, about giving back inside of always taking!

Our very existence, depends on the earth being healthy and yet very few of us seem to really understand that. Perhaps, because our connection, has become dormant. Buried beneath a materialistic world, that has sprung up around so many of us.

I really think, we need to be very careful about who we let teach us and guide us. Because right now, we need to be able to think for ourselves and not just repeat what others have said to us.

This is my response to the latest Ladies Of Hive Community Contest. Which asked the following question.......

What’s something you could teach me about?

When I read it, I knew I really wanted to answer it, but it took me a long time to decide how I would, because as I already stated, I am not really a big fan, of calling myself a teacher.

Then I read the latest post by @galenkp, which really resonated with me and inspired me to write this response. So it's not really about me teaching anything, but rather planting a seed and allowing you to make your own choices in life, ones that I hope come from your gut.

Only we ourselves know our own weaknesses, our own humility, our own contriteness, our own willingness, then we are ready to learn.

Great perspective as always @trucklife-family 💚

So true, Thanks so much @kerrislravenhill xxxx

This on its own is inspiring. Just by reading, I have learnt a lot. Thanks @trucklife-family for sharing your thoughts on learnings with us.

Thank you @marynn, I am happy that you enjoyed it xxx

You are welcome 😊

I agree with following the gut instinct, I have seen that ignoring it always comes back to haunt me. There is something special about letting intuition guide you.

Yes, it's where we hold a lot of our power xxxx

We are our own teachers at the end of the day as no one would teach us better than ourselves.

This is really educative, well done!

That is some really wise words, and I agree with you. We should remember how to teach ourselves.
You made me think in another angle, great thinking.
And to go with our own gut on who we learn from and not.
Thank you for waking my mind 😉👍
Have a wonderful week and good luck ♥️

Thanks so much @saffisara , wishing you a wonderful week too xxxx

Some of my friends in school were really brilliant in art and music put couldn't do algebra for love nor money. It is these guys that are exceling in todays world because creativity is in demand with the dawn of the internet age and "jobs for life" are starting to wane. It's good to see but more should still be done in educational systems for the less academic and more creative person.

Yes, intellect is valued more than creativity unfortunately. It is one of the reasons I choose to homeschool my girls. Thanks for your input @blanchy xxxx

I wanted to say that intuition is probably the best teacher, if you could call that a teacher. Soak up as much information as you can and then follow your gut feeling as much as possible xx

And that all comes back to us, as our intuition, is our true connection to self. Thanks Vincent, sending you a hug xxxx

Perhaps, because our connection, has become dormant.

That's just it. It's become so dormant that our species has fooled itself into thinking that buildings, cities, and the indoors are a real and separate reality away from nature. What a dangerous way of looking at the world... Sort of like saying that the Poles and the Equator don't affect each other?

Thanks so much for the support @wrestlingdesires, I am glad that you understand where I am coming from xxxx

Yeah, I don't see where people think the rest of the world is any less real.

Because one lives in say New York, would that make London or Los Angeles not real? All are major cities, but unless you travel for business you aren't likely to interact with all three regularly.

Regardless of who will teach us. It's the lessons that matter more 🙂.

Being open to learning is so important as well. Thank you @jane1289 xxxx

I do agree with you, and even though I'll be 43 years old soon, I still have a lot to learn, especially in terms of skills.

I want to learn how to sew so that I can actually make one dress for myself.

I also want to learn how to do manicures and pedicures because I've noticed that almost everywhere now, people are flaunting fake, colourful, gorgeous nails.

The list continues forever.
Your writing truly speaks to me, thus I appreciate it a lot. I wish you a wonderful day, and keep in mind that as long as you choose to, the path of learning will always be open to you.

Exactly yes, we get to choose our path.
I look forward to seeing some posts on sewing in the future, you can do it xxx

Thank you❤️
I may apply for the classes, which was close to where I live. But for meantime, I've been observing sewing machine prices. Some are reasonable, but they might only be able to sew simple things like cotton or linen.

I don't even know how to operate a basic sewing machine. I am totally ZERO experience. But I really love to learn it because of one youtube channel I watched.

She made her own dress and clothes by DIY-ing clothing that she purchased at a thrift store and creating and designing it into something new. I can't remember which channel it was.

It is a lot of fun to see. If you wish to view it, I'll look up the Link or the name of her channel.

I share with your writing, the most valuable thing we have is the planet we live on, and sometimes it is the one we give less importance to, in addition to the fact that currently in our country we are not being educated to be rational beings, without our own criteria, yes not to be manipulated like puppets. I liked reading you, I wish you luck in the contest, Blessings 🙏🏽🙌🏽👏🏽🤝🏽🤗🍲👩🏽‍🍳🌷🎴💮🌼🌸⚜💠🌹🌺💐🌻🥀🏵🍁🌱🌳🌿🍂🍃🍀🌟⭐✨☀💫🤩🎼☀🌛🌜💯😅😋😘🥰 .

Not teaching but allowing anyone make their own choices is really cool - inspiring.

To say the obvious this post is really inspirational. That for walking me through the subject matter from another perspective entirely.

It makes me really happy that you found this inspiring @kitchenandcraft xxx

I have learnt alot from what you put down here. I am the only person that can teach myself best.
