Lithuanian translation from 20% to 100%

in Ecency ā€¢ 2 years ago (edited)

Hello lovely Hive peoplešŸ˜Š!!! Hope everyone is having a great day!šŸ˜ For my first post I would like to share my experience translating for the Ecency.

I got so excited that there is just 20% of translation done I forgot to snap a picture of it and started to work on it right away. But Iā€™ll show my progress, since everything is saved and its never gone (one of the reasons I loved this software).

To get started you just need to go to link in Ecency community and sign in:

Ecency website and desktop:
https://translate-desktop.ecency.com/

Ecency mobile app:
https://translate-mobile.ecency.com/

I registered with gmail account. Then request to join project (it took around 10 min. to confirm). And we are good to go! šŸ˜ You will get some rules as well - nothing complicated.

My apologies for basics, but just a reminder to everyone and note to newbies (like myself): take your time and research material you are translating. Read all text you going to work with and I strongly recommend to have a good look at already translated words, there is a chance that same words will repeat all over again. You accidentally can choose different word for same meaning (synonym) and it wonā€™t look pretty in a big picture. All this research to avoid a lot of deleting and correcting later.

If you are sure that someone else translation is not correct, send to change it. I had to make three changes. Here is my summary of three days:

If you want to have a good reputation as a translator and use this software in the future, then donā€™t rush. Take your time, do your research and your records will look professional. Think twice, wright once, they say. Donā€™t forget to proofread, because I found a lot of misspells in my translation and had to delete and change everythingā€¦

Overall, I really enjoyed working with crowdin.com software and would recommend to try it if you havenā€™t yet. I did all my translation with mobile phone! Itā€™s so easy to use and it saves every correction, suggestion. Basically everything. Your work is never gone and you can undo your deleted words.

Thank you for reading, hope my post was helpful. šŸ˜

Here at Hive we would love to get to know new users well. So the best way to start is to do an introduction post. You can choose whatever information you would like to share about yourself, be creative! Add pictures and also you might want to share how you discovered hive. If someone introduced you to hive, tag them in your introduction post to thank them. This will help other Hivers get to know you and be comfortable supporting your works here.

We have a lot of Communities you can subscribe to which are all categorized based on interest or topics. Share your blogs there to have a wider range of audience or you can check out the Communities Incubation Program.

Since content on the Hive platform is monetized, using other peopleā€™s ideas or images could be considered as an offense and which is also viewed in a serious light on the blockchain. Here is a useful collection of resources about how plagiarism and abuse is viewed and handled on Hive.
