Your list of transformations is pretty huge. I haven't even really given it a second of thought, but I'm sure it's been mighty impactful if I meditate on it a bit. I've basically never taken a penny out this whole time (a lot is still lingering on Binance for quick trades if I catch the occasional pumps but I rarely pay much attention) so it hasn't had any real world impact.

There are a lot of things that I did for the first time because of Hive, and a lot of transformations I went through, in a large part thanks to Hive

That's freaking cool. It's a long time to stick it out in one place, but would we ever wish for somewhere else? Nope. I've not even reached my first birthday so can only imagine what a milestone 6 years must be.
I love that you looked back and listed how it's helped you. A while back I also thought about that and realised that in a very short space of time, it's been monumental for my forward progress and personal growth as well.
Thanks, the personal growth is really why I stay. There are so many times I thought about leaving but too many things to keep me around, friends, payout and a lot lot lot of growth. For all the complaints I’ve had on and off (depending on the Hive Politics of the day) I can never justify leaving, plus we always seem to always self correct our problems in the long run
That's great, I mean no place is going to be 100% perfect all the time and there are always going to be differences of opinion, but I don't think that it should warrant leaving especially when the majority of the people on the blockchain want the same thing.
Soooo different, in 2017 there were the most amount of people blogging which was really fun (so many people to meet) but there were a lot more scammer spammer types and I think the relationships didn’t run as deep. Now it’s become something we all believe in to varying degrees. There were no tokens other than hive, no front ends back then, and we had 40 100% votes when I arrived (our VP was lower due to that). Whales dominated everything back then. Still kind of the case but the whales that remain mostly distribute their influence to a much much larger degree or take a back seat and seem to want a wider distribution of rewards.
Yes, in about a month I will hopefully achieve dolphin status (I'm about 5300HP now)... and I realise that less than 2000 accounts have reached dolphin or above. I realise my vote is still relatively small... and so it is actually a very small number of accounts that can distribute the nice fat vote we hope for when we post...
I do wonder how that will change... if the number of people posting compared to the number that can distribute nice votes... is going to make it more and more difficult to get a fat reward for posting. Hopefully by then all us people that are already here can get curation rewards and have nice nest eggs to get APR or trade with...
Hmm, interesting, I hope I can say this and a lot more when I celebrate my 6th anniversary here on Hive. I am just on my way to one year but it's been a tremendous journey, every moment of it is amazing!
Stick it out! I’m sure you won’t regret it, especially if you see it as a chance to grow and improve yourself and if you value the relationships you make here. If it’s all about the money, then it tends to feel a lot more like work. Ironically, the less I worry about payout(while keeping a proactive attitude) the better I’ve done. Hive will forever be my place to experiment with and flesh out ideas and connect, I think that’s really what it’s been best for. The rest has just been a bonus. Staying mostly out of the politics has made it much more pleasant for me.

Hahaha well, that's quite the whole steemit history from an altruistic POV. I think there was a lot of circle jerking like you said, but we sure made some amazing friend that are no longer active. I think the only way to really benefit from the Blockchain is to stay through. We haven't totally seen the prospects of here until in years to come. I'm glad it's your sixth.
