The road to the waterfall

We are at the end of my Red River Gorge series. This is trail 4 of 4 that @flowerbaby and I explored while visiting Daniel Boone National Forest in Kentucky.

You can view the other three trails here:

Today we are going to focus on Rock Bridge Trail. Unlike the other three trails which where out and back, this one is a loop trail. The total distance is about 1.5 miles and features approximately 300 feet of up and down elevation.

To get to the trailhead, we had to drive 3 miles out a curvy 1½ lane road. I’ve mentioned these roads in my previous Red River Gorge posts, but this one was the longest of them all. It seemed like it took an eternity to arrive since we had to drive slow. Just look at how filthy my Audi was once we finally made it to our final destination.

There were two starting points for this trail. We opted to began at the entrance that was in closest proximity to our parking space. Once we actually got out on this trail we were greeted by a loud group of people who were yelling at their overweight friends for taking another break. There were many steps to climb to at both finishing points for the hike. They must have started at the other entrance, because they were near empty on energy right where we started. You best believe that this didn’t scare @flowerbaby and I off, if anything it excited us and made us happy to still be in good health.

There was a pretty awesome waterfall at the midpoint of this hike. Along with that also came a large area which could easily be seen as a great swimming hole. We did not go swimming since the water was freezing cold, it was only around 70°F outside, and we didn’t bring our swimwear.

Out of the four trails we went on, this was for sure the biggest hike out of them all. The views were not quite as grand, but still there were some beautiful things to see. I was glad to actually work up a sweat and feel like I was getting some heavy physical activity in. I had no idea that we would be running into a waterfall, that was my favorite part. I love water so much, it’s so peaceful and refreshing.

There were many people who brought their dogs along. We even saw a few dogs that went out for a swim. I noticed one smaller bulldog was shivering since their owner wasn’t smart enough to bring a towel for him. He still looked really happy, I was jealous that I didn’t get to go swimming myself.

Really? I am not aware of that. I do know what Canva is though.

Ahhh, my gosh! I'm sorry.
It isn't you!

Really meaningful and engaging post. Lots of pictures of beautiful nature. I love this post. Thank you so much.

This post means a lot to me, all of what I post does. It’s great to see others appreciating the things that I love.

Nice photos, seems like you both enjoyed your hike !

That's for certain. We always seem to have an awesome time, no matter what we are doing together.

beautiful pictures bro, your car is trying to tell you something after the trip "wash me" hahaha, glad you were able to travel bro and you had a super great time on your adventure :D

My car was washed less than 24 hours after I got back home. I park in a public garage and I find it embarrassing to have my car looking nasty. I try to keep it shining always.

your car is amazing, brother it's like everything, you have to give love to your things and you will see that they will work well, just as you do in every publication, you do it with love and that is what has led you to success.

Haha nice trip and good photos.
Looks like you have fun there!

Yes for sure, we are both glad we made the drive to this place.

hello @daltono,
It is a beautiful forest, it fascinates me to be in nature, in the city where I live there are no places where I can do the same but I still like to see articles about nature.

publicity note:
I'm promoting That curation trail on HIVE and it would help me a lot if you forward it, You can also check it yourself: you might find it interesting to join, I'd love to hear your comment

I'm lucky to have both nature and downtown close by to me. Only thing is my local airport is terrible.
