Sowing The Seeds of Plant Love

in Amazing Nature3 years ago

I'm belting out The Hollies' The Air That I Breathe while I water my plants. If you had asked me before the pandemic if I would be partial to plants, I would have brushed it off with a "nah". Got to remember to water them, bring them out into the sunshine every now and then, - "nobody got time for that!".

Since the lockdowns, I am slowly but surely replacing all the fake-no-need-to-water-plants with the real thing. I love the energy and feel it gives the living room. I would love more, but as much as The Hubs loves gardening(we have a Balcony Garden to prove it), he is not convinced I should get carried away and turn the living room into this👇

I'm working on it though haha. Maybe that's too much but a little bit more than what I have now.

These are Peace Lilies. As the name suggest, the plant creates the energy of peace. It's supposed to increase productivity (which makes it great for the office) and lower sickness. I'd say with that kind of energy, every home should have at least one.

The infamous Money Plant sits nice and pretty on my work table. As far back as I can remember, my family always had these Money Plants in a bowl on the dining table. So it could make us rich of course. Then I read this:-

But some sect also says that this plant has to be robbed from someone’s place to bring that great financial luck to the self.

Hmmmm, now I am going to be on the lookout to rob someone of their money plant ;p

We got this Prayer Plant because we just fell in love with the colours and the patterns on it. It looks unreal but the leaves apparently open and close according to its exposure to light. I haven't caught it in action, but I will be more observant after this.

The Calathea Zebra, obviously named for its stripes. Another one we got because it looked so pretty.

Have been reading up on these, and they all have different care instructions. So wish me luck, so they will survive and thrive... Maybe I shouldn't sing aloud just incase ;D

All tips on how to care for my green babies are most welcome.
Thank you for reading
Till next time, Carpe Diem!

Lol! Your singing aloud might just make them blossom more!

I looove your plants, particularly the Peace Lilies and the way you decorate your home with them. They look very green and beautiful. I'm sure a lot of work goes into taking care of these plants. Well done! 🍀

I also just found out that certain plants have certain windows (north, south, west) to thrive
I won't sing but I will recite poetry haha

If one good thing has come out of this dump, it seems like many of us have become more aware and appreciative of nature and our surroundings

You take the cake though
Actually, you were one of my examples to The Hubs but he isn't ready to turn his living room into a cozy little indoor garden haha

I love the leaf pattern on the prayer plant. ❤️

It's so pretty
And the under is maroon in colour too ;D

Amazing! It looks like it's been painted on. 😍
