Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 60

in Amazing Nature3 years ago (edited)

Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!

Welcome to the 60th round of my special weekly photo challenge known as Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun :)

I know a lot of photo contests with nature as the main theme were/are/will be hosted by various people on the Hive blockchain but I wanted to come up with something more than just another photo contest where participants would submit their best natural photos. Therefore, I decided to go for quite an unusual concept that I am going to introduce in the following lines.

The aim of the Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun photo challenge is not to make you dig up your photo archives and submit the best pictures of nature that you have ever taken. Instead, I want you guys to go out and appreciate the beauty of our nature right now.

The internet (and the Hive blockchain as well) is flooded with picture perfect shots of landscapes, mountains, forests, beaches etc. taken years ago. But this is not what I want to see in this challenge. I want to see shots that may not be necessarily stunning but they must be fresh, proving that you have just physically spent some time outdoors in the fresh air. But remember that nature comes in many forms. It doesn´t have to be a pristine jungle or a deep remote forest. An urban park, a botanical garden, a little grove on the outskirts of your town - pretty much any place with some trees, plants, rocks, bodies of water or any other natural features would be just as fine ;)

Obviously, there is no way for me to verify whether the photo that you submit in the challenge is really fresh or if it was even taken by you so I am relying on your honesty guys. The prizes for the winners (as described below) are more symbolical than overly motivating so I don´t expect too much fraudulent behavior in this challenge anyway.

I want to keep the rules of this challenge as simple and benevolent as possible so let´s agree on just this:

Only one entry (photo) per person per round.

The photo must be yours and not older than one week.

Add a few words about the photo, at least where and when you took it.

You can start submitting your entries to this round in the comment section below from now until the next round.

Prior to publishing the next round post, I will pick 3 winners, give my full upvote on their entries and feature them in the next round of the challenge. As long as the response is not too overwhelming, I will also try to give some smaller upvotes on all of the other entries to reward all participants.

I might change the concept and/or the rules of the photo challenge later on, depending on how things go. I usually host the challenge on Thursday but when needed for some reason, I can host it on some other day so better check my blog regularly not to miss out on it ;)

To keep up with you guys, I submit my own fresh natural photo to every round´s post too :) Here is my contribution to start out this round:

The weather has been really crazy here in Krakow, Poland lately as we have sun, rain, wind and snow changing many times throughout the day in a totally random order so being outside means you are almost guaranteed to get a fair share of water in some form. But even that didn´t prevent us from taking a decent hike in the forests surrounding the Pilsudski Hill a few days ago. That´s also where I took this picture. As you can see, I was taking the shot right against the sun but I think the dark tree silhouettes gave the picture a pretty nice and interesting atmosphere.

In the last round, we had 7 participants. After some thorough consideration, I decided to pick these 3 winners:

Last Sunday's photo of Praděd mountain (Czechia), the highest (1491 m.a.s.l.) peak of Jeseníky, with iconic tower. The foreground is surrounded by mountain pine. Maybe it is one of the last photos with this tree there as they work hard to eliminate this introduced species in order to let the indigenous flora to prosper.

Playing around in my garden in Byron Bay, Australia today trying to get some macro shots for a qurator contest after taking quite a few shots and getting use to using my new Samsung S21 Pro smartphone which has a automatic macro setting with it's advanced technology this smartphone has the ability to switch itself over to macro mode, this happens when you get within 10 centimeters of an object, the camera acknowledges and automatically switches over to its close-up mode how cool is that and this is the result of one of the macro photo i captured today the mid-air flying Bee heading into the Yellow Bell flower.

Ahoj, tak zase po delší době přidávám kousek přírody. Foceno včera z Vaňkáče, celé Beskydy jako na dlani. A příští týden už snad budu mít úplně opačnou fotku!

Congratulations guys! It was my pleasure to give you 100% upvotes on your entries :)

I am looking forward to what you will come up with in this round.

Have fun and appreciate the beauty of nature!

It is taken today, Thursday around 11.00 AM. It is located in West Java, Indonesia.

Hey buddy, welcome to the challenge :) Thanks for this lovely entry. Can you just add the location please?

Thank for the edit but you could leave the original text in there, it was good :) I just needed to know the location, which was missing.

Do I need edit the text again?

No it´s alright :) But next time you can tell us more about the photo :)

Okay. Thank you for your suggestion. I shall try my best later. :)

Sorry for having missed the last editions, but - well - although the weather was good, my sleep was not. So, rather than cycling I stayed at home & did ... nothing. But yesterday afternoon I found enough energy to ride my bike for a few hours. No spectacular results (& I didn't find what I was actually looking for), but something nice here & there.

Breaking through.
The bud of a crown daisy (Glebionis coronaria) blossom, shortly before it opens.
Found somewhere in the hills south of Patras.

Good to have you here again :) That´s a nice close up and I am also glad that you got to spend some nice refreshing time outside. Cannot wait to take my bike for a ride too. Have a great weekend my friend!

Awesome !!! Congrats to all excellent collection @phortun, I can feel warmth overthere~ great snap. It's getting very hot here in Da Nang, Viet Nam :)

You know how excited I want to test my new lovely Xiaomi phone so I went on a trip with @thaolaven to Hue yesterday. I like this tranquil part with the lotus pond & surrounding trees of the place we visited. The picture was taken yesterday at The Pagoda " To Dinh Tu Hieu", Hue, Viet Nam.

Cool picture, I love the lush greenery :) Thanks for your entry. Looking forward to all those nice photos you will take with your new phone :)

Yesterday been Sunday I took a drive up the coastline towards Queensland with my wife been such a beautiful day we had decided to go in search for a nice seafood afternoon lunch into Coolangatta which is a coastal suburb in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia but sits right on the boarder line of Queensland and NSW most people want to argue that Coolangatta beach is part of NSW but in actual fact it isn't and I am not going to argue that I just wanted to enjoy my swim between the boarders and my seafood lunch no complaints from me it was a great day out.

Glad to have another beautiful piece of Australia in the challenge, thank you! :)

Lovely close up, thank you. Can you just add where you took it? You can use the text from your post, I just need it here in the comments too. Thanks.

Blue hour. The sun has already set, but the sky is still quite bright. The atmosphere and clouds are illuminated by the last rays, but this light is diffused. Already lit street lamps, but the Crow still can not sleep. Maybe she couldn't have dinner ... or maybe she just sees off the sun :)

We have Bauhinia in bloom now. There are pink and white. Very beautiful!
I took this photo in a park near my house a few days ago. I live in Israel in the city of Be'er Sheva.

Thanks for your entry but please read the rules. You should add where and when you took the picture.

We live in Israel in the south. Many beautiful trees are blooming in our country now. One of them has a very interesting name - Judas tree. We saw one of them during our walk. The real name of this tree is European scarlet (Cercis siliquastrum). Very beautiful flowers on this tree. There are so many of them that you cannot actually see the foliage. Unfortunately, this beauty is odorless. We saw this tree on a nearby street when we were out for a walk a few days ago.

Thanks for this nice close up but please read the rules. You should add where and when you took the picture.

OK. i added this 🙂

Ahoj, tak dnes trochu jinak :) Foceno během sobotní ranní procházky v Dolní oblasti Vítkovice. Kousek přírody v areálu naší technické památky. Takových platanů je tam spousta.

Zajímavá kombinace i kompozice :D Děkujíí :)

I've just wrote huge post related to this topic and I forgot about your contest unfortunately. Decided to read other works with the nature theme and I really adore how I can feel your emotions through this posts of yours. I like people that are so pure. No matter nature by itself is really simple, yet really amazing and complex, it's always nice seeing people appreciate the beauty and calmness of it. Thank you for that @phortun, stay yourself and be well 💚

Thanks for your nice feedback man, I appreciate it :) Just saw your post, very good job and many cool photos. Obviously, the weather has been crazy in many places these days... I hope to see a fresh natural picture from you in this round :) Good luck and have a great day.

Moc děkuju 😉

Rádo se stalo :)

😲 thanks for having me (eventually) 😃
The intro photo of yours, the forest, looks awesome, kind of greenish already and more importantly, looks clean (no trash, just grass and leaves) 👌

Pecka! Dík za info.

I was planning to go out in the park and have some nice photos but the winners pictures are too perfect, I cannot get a shot like that ever in my park of my metropolitan city sadly.
Anyways, hope you have a great day:)

Come on, give it a try! Cannot be that bad :) We would be happy to have your entry here :)

If you say so, I will surely see if's there's something cool I could capture:)

Thank you @phortun your nature photo just , WoW , it has given me the urge to go for a weekend hike 👍

Thanks man & congrats again, that was a stunning shot :) See you in the new round.

Thanks man have a great weekend and see you in the next round 👍

Hey hey, I am glad you decided to give it a shot :) Actually, there is no need to create a separate post, just upload your photo (only one) here in the comment section and add a few words about it, at least where and when you took it ;) Thanks.

Ohh! My bad. anyways, here's the picture

Felt good to visit the park by the evening and have little cactus, rocks an palms trees clicked. They were very aesthetically appealing.

Awesome, that´s a beautiful photo :) Now we just need to know where and when you took it :)

I took it yesterday's evening at Lodhi Garden, New Delhi :)

Great, now your entry is complete and ready to win :D :) Thank you.
