Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 64

in Amazing Nature3 years ago

Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!

Welcome to the 64th round of my special weekly photo challenge known as Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun :)

I know a lot of photo contests with nature as the main theme were/are/will be hosted by various people on the Hive blockchain but I wanted to come up with something more than just another photo contest where participants would submit their best natural photos. Therefore, I decided to go for quite an unusual concept that I am going to introduce in the following lines.

The aim of the Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun photo challenge is not to make you dig up your photo archives and submit the best pictures of nature that you have ever taken. Instead, I want you guys to go out and appreciate the beauty of our nature right now.

The internet (and the Hive blockchain as well) is flooded with picture perfect shots of landscapes, mountains, forests, beaches etc. taken years ago. But this is not what I want to see in this challenge. I want to see shots that may not be necessarily stunning but they must be fresh, proving that you have just physically spent some time outdoors in the fresh air. But remember that nature comes in many forms. It doesn´t have to be a pristine jungle or a deep remote forest. An urban park, a botanical garden, a little grove on the outskirts of your town - pretty much any place with some trees, plants, rocks, bodies of water or any other natural features would be just as fine ;)

Obviously, there is no way for me to verify whether the photo that you submit in the challenge is really fresh or if it was even taken by you so I am relying on your honesty guys. The prizes for the winners (as described below) are more symbolical than overly motivating so I don´t expect too much fraudulent behavior in this challenge anyway.

I want to keep the rules of this challenge as simple and benevolent as possible so let´s agree on just this:

Only one entry (photo) per person per round.

The photo must be yours and not older than one week.

Add a few words about the photo, at least where and when you took it.

You can start submitting your entries to this round in the comment section below from now until the next round.

Prior to publishing the next round post, I will pick 3 winners, give my full upvote on their entries and feature them in the next round of the challenge. As long as the response is not too overwhelming, I will also try to give some smaller upvotes on all of the other entries to reward all participants.

I might change the concept and/or the rules of the photo challenge later on, depending on how things go. I usually host the challenge on Thursday but when needed for some reason, I can host it on some other day so better check my blog regularly not to miss out on it ;)

To keep up with you guys, I submit my own fresh natural photo to every round´s post too :) Here is my contribution to start out this round:

I was roaming around the forest surrounding the Bednarski Park here in Krakow, Poland a few days ago when I noticed this handsome fella enjoying one of the first truly warm and sunny days of the year. This species is known as the Roman Snail and it´s one of the largest and also most common snails in Europe. I am quite familiar with these guys as they really are abundant in nature here but what I didn´t know is the fact that some specimens of this species can live for up to 35 years. That´s some very impressive longevity for such a little creature.

In the last round, we had 11 participants. After some thorough consideration, I decided to pick these 3 winners:

Assalamualaikum. From Bangladesh. Panchagarh in My Home District. This is a picture from several days ago. Spectacular view of a nice place near my home district . This is one of my favorite pictures. Because this natural beauty here drives me crazy. The eye-catching beauty of the sky in the picture, and the reflection of the sky below is beautifully reflected. And in the midst of this wonderful beauty, if you notice very well, you can see that some people have tried to fish in the water with nets. In a word, the picture captures an amazingly beautiful scene combining human and natural beauty. Best wishes are open to all.

Západ slunce s výhledem na Lysou horu, foceno v úterý na Bílé a už jen malinko sněhu (ještě stále dost na lyžování). V příštím kole už budou jarní fotky, slibuju 😃

Sorry for for being absent last time, but I was too tired to post or edit much. This week was actually worse, because of Greek Easter (the next church is just 10m away & every morning & evening there were 3 hour sermons), but at least yesterday I got a good day's sleep. So, here is my latest masterpiece. Algae-overgrown rocks at the Greek coast south of Patras. One of the first really warm days here, with very hazy air, so the light was not great, but still nice. Taken on Friday, when I was again kept from sleep by some sermons, but gathered enough energy to cycle to the coast.

Congratulations guys! It was my pleasure to give you 100% upvotes on your entries :)

I am looking forward to what you will come up with in this round.

Have fun and appreciate the beauty of nature!

Hi @phortun, I'm here again 😁. This is a photo I took during my camping trip last week at K50 Waterfall, deep in the Kon Chu Rang nature reserve in Gia Lai province in the highlands of Vietnam.

Taken today during the walk along local lake in Dąbrowa Górnicza, it has super clean water with cancers being seen from time to time. Spring takes over slowly this year, therefore still not much green, bo this place is scenic anyway.

Scenic indeed! :) Lovely shot, thanks. Btw you probably mean crayfish, cancer is a star constellation :)

Thx, that's what I meant:)

Yesterday I decided to take a drive over to Lennox beach which is about 20 km from Byron Bay town. I took a walk along the walkways around the beach area enjoying the views and the peacefulness of Lennox Head town, this is another great beach beach for surfing and the town has a very friendly and welcoming community.

Picturesque place, so welcoming and tranquil :) Great entry, thanks.

It really was thank you @phortun 👍

Wow great picks @phortun and congrats to all winner ~excellent shots :))

The sunrise picture was taken yesterday at Pine Tree Hill in Hai Van Pass. Just another stunning sunrise I've captured here. It was worth the effort of waking up early to witness this beautiful moment of nature.

Worth the effort and the early wake up for sure :) Breathtaking scenery. Thank you!

Hi @phortun

This photo taken by me 5 days ago in Hai Van Pass, Hue city, Viet Nam.
From these houses, can see the beautiful beach and mountain everyday!

Hope you have a great day.

Wow, almost like a shot from a travel catalogue :) Beautiful, thanks.

Happy day for everyone! This is my participation of week # 64, with a rocky landscape, captured last week in the vicinity of Catica beach in Bahía de Cata located in Aragua, Venezuela, a place with a lot of natural beauty to capture.

Ok thanks but I need to know where you took the picture (city or region or at least a country) and when you took it so that know that its´t not older than 7 days because the point of this challenge is to share fresh natural photos :) It´s all written in the post man.

I added the description , thank you man

Awesome, thanks :)

Thanks again!
& sorry, but nothing from me this week. Thought I would go cycling in the weekend, but nope...
Will be back next time.

No worries mate, see you here in the next round ;)

jůů, moc děkuju @phortun, teď půjdu hledat nějaký hezký jarní objekt, konečně :D

Nevěřím, že tam nebude aspoň trocha sněhu! :D

Btw co ten hometown contest, zapojíš se taky? :)

Myslím, že už asi nebude, ale pro tebe ho někde najdu :D

Hometown contest se mi moc líbí, jen nemám tu správnou fotku, musím něco vymyslet ;)

Tak jo, budu se těšit :)

Good idea for a contest @phortun, but it seems your winners would always be great looking photos, or would you chose winners with poor photography skills but fresh new photos they took while spending time outdoors? I think that would be so hard 😂 What do you say?

I say give it a try and we will see what happens :)

Hehehe. Cool! In case you didn't already realize, I was asking that question because I'm not a good photographer (yet), I don't have the tools, don't have a phone with a killer camera or a camera itself. I know for sure my photography is going to be crap😂
But fuck it, it would be hidden here in a comment and not a post out in my blog 😃, so here I go:

I took this photo just this afternoon. This is an area in the city of Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, Nigeria, West Africa (where I happen to be at the moment temporarily).
This area is really part of the developed part of the city but it has remained undeveloped because it is like a wasteland, it is a land that can hardly be used due to the fact that it is usually flooded during the rainy season.

The rainy season fills this place up and the water reaches over 6 ft sometimes from June till October or so. Due to this fact the land can hardly be used for anything except farming some specific crops.

If you look down, though, you'd find some abandoned buildings. I wonder why they started it at first, maybe the builder didn't know how the place gets in the rainy season, he probably abandoned it after learning this. So right now those buildings are just left in abandonment. But there's a ray of sunshine: the youth in this area usually steal into these buildings to have sex. Great day of sunshine, right?

This contest of yours made me go out to take a picture and appreciate nature in this expanse of land, but thinking of the favour nature in this expanse of land has done for the youth of this community by chasing the builders away with flood causing them to leave abandoned buildings for the sexual usage of the youth of this community, I think there's no way I can be more appreciative to nature than the youth of this community.

Thank you very much for taking your time to take this interesting picture and putting this great write up together ;) Amazing entry!

Oh, wow, you're welcome and thank you so much too for the opportunity and the kind words.

😃
