Needleworkmonday: Wind Chime

in NeedleWorkMonday3 years ago

Hello everybody,

Oh, my...I really thought I can't post again today. Last week hubby was admitted to the hospital because of high fever, high blood sugar and high blood pressure. It was an emergency case so, I had not brought along any of my work-in-progress at the hospital. Really no time to crochet. I just focus caregiving hubby. I was sad because I have no project to share to the community.

Then, this morning, the J&T rider delivered my shoppee order, the two wind chimes. We already have one wind chime but am not satisfied with the sound. I enjoy sound of wind chimes during windy weather. That's why I ordered 3 more wind chime to make it four. While I was holding the wind chimes a brilliant idea cropped up. I must yarn bomb this awesome thing! I right away got my hook and yarn. Dyaaraaaaan!

This is how I formed the oblong shape to cover the wood. Make 2 pcs.

With 4mm hook and acrylic yarn I chain(ch) 6 as the foundation base plus additional 3 ch as 1st extended double crochet(edc) plus another 1 ch, 1 edc into 5th ch from hook, [ch 1, 1 edc in next stitch(st)] repeat 3x. On the begging ch make [ch 1, 1 edc] 5 x, ch 1, 1 edc in each 4 st, [ch1, 1 edc into beginning 6th ch] repeat 3 x, sl st to join, cut about an inch then weave ends.

My first attempt was to join the 2 oblong shape by sewing but I undo it I did'nt like the effect, so, I crochet them with slip stitch and ch 1 in between inserting the wood as I go. Slip stitch, cut and weave ends.

Done!

This is a super quick project. I choose another color combination to complete the four oblong shape. The colorway preference is light color paired with dark color yarn and join them with attractive color.

Walah! Happy much with the result of my original instant idea an additional decor to Jurich Crochet Studio.

So sorry to hear about your husband. I really hope he is doing better now.

Your yarn bomb of this wind chime is so awesome! I love the bright colored yarns you used.

We appreciate you showing us the steps of your work. Nicely done :)

Thank you Admin. But I am happy hubby was hospitalized ahehehe. It was an awakening for him to control food intake daily. We always argue, I controlled his diet, but, hmm he insisted to eat more especially fried foods, hmm..fatty.

Para po syang dreAm catcher. Ang kagandahan lang ay colorful sya.

Yeah, love love ko dream catchers. Thanks for dropping by.

I hope ok na imu hubby Ate. I love the.chimes and of course ang added crochet.

Thanks, ok ok na siya, ganahan ko sa effect colorful pag ibitay na ang mga chimes

That's cool sis! Thanks for the pattern. Now I know how to make the leaves for the patches!

Thanks for dropping by Sis.Yeah puede siyang leaf...

Hindi na ako nakapag focus sa needlework. Busy mode. Garden mode ako hihihi... May awa ang Dios, magiging maayos din ang lahat...

Garden mode is the best, food supply yan. May YouTube channel ka? @kenny ?

Meron po, pero hindi ako active like before? Nasiraan ako ng loob...

Hi, I hope your husband recovers soon. How nice and valuable that in the midst of your husband's health situation you were able to share something so beautiful and original, and even very colorful. I liked the idea.Regards.

Thanks much for dropping by @jicrochet he is now 90% in a normal state, change his diet and ahehehe we are like the pharmacy with many stocks of medicine.

How nice that your husband is now in an almost normal state.

Oh! High blood sugar in the body is very dangerous as it weakens the body's defences. When your husband is relieved, the best thing to do is to exercise, drink plenty of water, eat vegetables and protein. Cut down on sweets, flour and rice.

That object that makes noise when there is wind sounds interesting, as it provides calm and tranquillity. And with the colours you put on it, it looks even more striking. Good vibes!

Thanks for dropping by. Yeah, his health not good really because before he eat anything he fancy. Yes, I do love wind chime.

Oh noooo what a shock for you and your husband. I hope he is feeling better and you could get help for him. ANd I feel with you, it is always nicer to have something to distract you while waiting (although I think I am easily frightened and often could not concentrate on anything while waiting for loved ones in the hospital)
You mandala for the wind chines are great! Such a cool idea, they look so much better with this mandalas, much cheerier and artful.

Thanks much @neumannsalva hubby is fine now, new normal also at home time spend on taking the medicines prescribed by doctors. The med stocks are like we have a pharmacy, lol...
