Granny knits for Baby Arthur - cute jumpers

in NeedleWorkMonday3 years ago (edited)

This is the third post in my Granny knits for Baby Arthur series. This series showcases the knitting done by my sister, and I'm sharing it here to help build an education fund for her grandchild Baby Arthur, hence the series name. If you missed the introduction post, you can check it out here.

This is Baby Arthur when he was about two months old, He's four months old now and boy, has he grown a lot!!! I just saw him on a video call today, he doesn't look so baby now and is growing into a handsome happy young fella. He's making a lot of sounds, apparently trying to talk. It was such a joy watching him laughing, and then suddenly turn a bit upset almost like he wanted to say something but was frustrated he couldn't speak. It was so funny watching him.

As usual, I'll be sharing some of the clothes that Granny has knitted for Baby Arthur. Today's theme will be cute jumpers. Some other countries call them sweaters or pullovers, in UK we normally call them jumpers. The one that Baby Arthur is wearing is the same as this one, a blue and white jumper with five little boats.

Based on the Baby Arthur I saw today, I think he might have outgrown this jumper already. That's such a pity. Although Granny is an experienced knitter, I'm sure it still takes her quite a bit of time to knit a jumper, yet you can't get much wear out of it as babies grow up so quickly. Perhaps she'll have to wait till Baby Arther gets a sibling.

Granny said the shops don't do many boy's clothes, or certainly a lot less than girls. I hadn't noticed that before as I don't have kids, but I had a look at the children's clothes section in the supermarket the other day (that's the only shops still open under lockdown), and sure enough, there were a lot more pretty girl's clothes.

It's great that Granny can knit her own clothes for Baby Arthur, and knit whatever cute pattern she likes. This racing car one is very funny as I think the car looks more like a shoe than a racing car. Perhaps it's a shoe car? 👟 🚗 The other part I like is the blue and white checker path, exactly what you would see on a racing track. It's a great design!

I mentioned before I don't have any kids, so know nothing about cartoons. I think I've seen this car somewhere before and 95 must be there for a reason. In the end I had to google cartoon car 95. Disney fans and mums are probably thinking how silly I am that I don't know about Pixar Cars and Lightning McQueen 😚

But then, you got to give it to Granny, for knitting something that even a cartoon noob can recognise, even though I don't know what it is!

Lol, the first car does look like a shoe for real 😅
But the last came out very well, exactly like in the cartoon cars yeah I have watched the cartoon, I loved cartoon very much when I was younger and I still do, I never get bored of watching cartoons.
I wonder how granny got the exact image just like in the cartoon.
This is really lovely.

Thanks, I shall pass on the message to Granny. The weird thing about the red car is that it's doesn't actually look like a car but you can tell it's a car, really weird.

Baby Arthur is a very lucky baby. Those jumpers look great. Too bad in a couple of months baby Arthur can't use them anymore.

Babies grow up so fast, I have a video call with my siblings every week, and Baby Arthur always join in, I can practically see him changing every time I see him

Those are awesome sweaters. I like the sail boat one in the cover photo.
Shoe car! Nice. It does look like a shoe now that you pointed it out

Granny, ie my sister has knitted some really cute stuff for Baby Arthur, I'll be sharing some more later

Nice. I look forward to seeing it. My actual gradma sed to knit me sweaters but I don't think I really appreciated it when I was young. I would kill for one of those sweaters of hers now though.

I know what you mean, we tend to think jumpers from granny are way to cheesy when we're a kid

This is too cute!!! Love the patterns, your granny is amazing! Especially the tires on the second one - 👍

The granny is actually my sister and Arthur is her grandson, my great nephew 😀

OMD, I thought I read sister, but then you carried on with a granny 😁

Hi, they are too beautiful, the one with the car is super regal and the yellow one is dreamy. Also, I love them because they are super colorful. The baby is very very beautiful. Regards

Thank you for your lovely comment @jicrochet. I would love to share more photos of baby Arthur as he really is adorable, but his parents are very private so I had to cover his little eyes up.

You are very talented at making lovely pieces.

I'd love to take the credit for them, but they're knitted by my sister for her grandson, my knitting sucks!!!

Still very nice work.

These sweaters are fabulous! I have never tried large intarsia motifs--yours are so well done.

Credit goes to my sister, unfortunately, I can't knit anything as nice as these. But thanks for your lovely comment, I will pass it on to her!

Wow! The jumpers/sweaters are so cute! I like them very much (all of them).

Thank, I'm so glad I can share them with everyone

These look really cool, and Arthur is so cute!!! 😍

Thanks Gabby. I wish I can give him a hug, but sadly have only seen him in flesh twice, at a distance 😞

I'm really sorry, I know how missing the loved ones feels during this period but hopefully, everything will be back to normal and distance won't be a border anymore for us 😞

Awe these knits are so cute and will certainly keep baby Arthur warm and cosy, your sister is really talented!

Dear @livinguktaiwan
I must say that the manual skills of the person knitting, are very good. And they look great on that beautiful baby.

Greetings.
Yours, Piotr
