Great set of ideas and really enjoying your videos man!

There are many lessons to be learned from Steam and their market issues & DoTa2 journey.

About sponsorships, if they become a reality at some point for ranked battles, they should only pay the extra rewards for players using Splinterlands interface(s) to play, where the sponsorship information is displayed. That should automatically eliminate the majority of bots from the equation since they interact directly with the blockchain.

I agree. I think bots could be coded to go through the interface though, right? Do we need additional restrictions? Should accounts be flagged based on other activity throughout the season?

Regardless of the methods it takes, sponsors don't want to pay to advertise for bots. Let the bots have the standard earnings, but no sponsor bonuses. Hand those out to only humans!

I think bots could be coded to go through the interface though, right?

Yes, they can. But it's a question of whether it's worthwhile for bot owners/devs to do that because normally a bot that doesn't need to interact with the interface is easier to code and adapt to changes.

I totally understood the reasoning why these extra rewards shouldn't be available to bots. Sponsors aren't advertising to them.

About flagging the account, that would be... difficult. Say someone normally plays the account but at some point goes on vacation with no access to the internet and has the option to allow a bot to play on his Splinterlands account or delegate and chooses to run the bot. Should the account be flagged? I think not, just not receive the extra rewards if the bot is playing at the time.

5 second animated/video interstitials before the ranked battle and a question about the interstitial to start the fight would be a good way to make things tougher for bots and improve engagement.

Also, corporate sponsor promo cards. Limited edition rewards cards to promote a particular business or brand for a short period of time. Not everyone is going to be able to get these cards as they have a short print life, but that's the point when it comes to their value. Also, these cards would be forever a part of the game and will always be a way to get an ad impression through to the player or market participant. We all want that limited edition Ronald McDonald Life Leech summoner.

these are some great ideas!

Hi BD,

Is there any option to skip card loading screen animation to be turned off? It just wastes time.

There is an option in settings for this for PC. Not on the app though, where I would say it is most annoying.
