SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! GRUMPY DWARF

in Splinterlands3 years ago

Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a battle using a specific card and on this week's post it is the Grumpy Drawf card. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.

Featured Monster: Grumpy Drawf

Grumpy Drawf is a neutral splinter card. It has the reach ability at level 1 and gains the enrage ability at level 5. As a Beta common card, every user has access to this card. I don't think the stats are that good so I don't really use this card much. Also I don't think the enrage ability will do much for this card since it doesn't have much health either. Unfortunately I don't have much mana available.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

8-29 rule set.png

The rule set this time is unprotected so every card will not gain any armor. It's an interesting rule set but it only makes my drawf less tanky. I think I will compensate for it using some cards without armor. We are allowed to use every rule set besides death which is good for me because I dislike using the death rule set.

The summoner I choose to use this time is Daria Dragonscale. I really like this summoner since having more damage isn't a bad thing. Of course this limits my set ups to mostly melee monsters. So unless a magic or ranged monster has an ability or stats that are too good to ignore, I will mainly build around some of my lower cost melee monsters for anything other than my tank.

Round 1

8-29 round 1.png

I was planning on making a full melee set up but I didn't have any 2 mana melee monsters that can attack from the backline. So I went with a mage there so at least there is some damage. I am not very confident in my setup but I do think my Unicorn Mustang will be able to do a decent amount of work.

Round 2

8-29 round 2.png

It's not looking good for me because my mage died before getting a chance to attack and it died in one hit. I was able to remove his last monster and increase the health on my cards so my goblin thief was able to survive because of it.

Round 3

8-29 round 3.png

Well I lost another 2 cards on my side but I was finally able to take out my opponent's tank. I think it's very dangerous and I know that I will be relying on Unicorn Mustang because my drawf won't live another round.

Round 4

8-29 round 4.png

I am glad I did not miss with my Unicorn Mustang. As my Unicorn Mustang is faster than my opponent's monsters, I am sure I will win so long as I do not miss any attacks.

8-29 conclusion.png

It seems I was lucky enough to not miss so I was able to win the match. If I missed at any point during the fight, I have no doubt that I would of lost.

Conclusion

Well this match didn't exactly go as I expected. My Unicorn Mustang was the the doing most of the work and the reason why I won the match. The only thing I might of done differently was to change out that mage into an creeping ooze and brownie. By doing so, the speed of my opponent's team would of dropped and my cards would also do to attack earlier.

In that sense, my choice of Daria was a great choice. Without it, I would not have enough damage to kill off my opponent's monsters. My Unicorn Mustang and his void magic skill did help quite a bit. I think my opponent did come with a good lineup but I am not so sure about mixing magic monsters together with his melee boosting summoner. I felt that he could of won by swapping them with actual melee monsters attacking me.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would of done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
