Splinterlands Weekly Challenge Battle! DJINN INFERNI

in Splinterlandslast year

Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a battle using a specific card and on this week's post it is the Djinn Inferni card. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.

Featured Monster: Djinn Inferni

Djinn Inferni is a fire splinter card that costs 7 mana. It starts with Giant Killer and learns Stun at level 5. It doesn't have much health and has average speed, but it has a decent amount of magic damage. I have a gold foil version of this card and I use it every now and then. Whenever I use fire, I tend to lack magic monsters and this is the magic monster I use the most when dealing with my fire deck.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

rule set.png

The ruleset this time is aimless and lost legendaries. This means that all monsters gain the scattershot and no legendary cards can be used. There is also 52 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire, earth or dragon splinter.

The summoner I choose to use this time is Yodin Zaku. In a match like this, I think having +1 health, +1 ranged attack and blast is a great addition. In a way, I liked how Chaos Dragon had scattershot and blast. I am limited in the level of the cards I can play though.

My plan is just to have a lineup using a few tanky monsters up in front. Most of my lineup is ranged monsters and I also have a magic monster just in case my opponent has a monster with the shield ability. I also have Sandworm because it deals a lot of damage.

Round 1

At the first glance of my opponent's lineup, I think I have the stronger lineup and I think my opponent made a mistake by using a taunt monster. With the aimless ruleset, all monsters have scattershot so none of them will target the taunt monster specifically. Speed-wise, I don't think there should be any issues unless my opponent focuses on my Djinn Inferni during the first round with both of his fast monsters.

Round 2

round 2.png

The first round nearly wiped out my opponent completely due to all the blast damage I was doing and it was amazing to see all of it play out. I don't see anyway for me to lose this match and I also have a magic monster left so I should finish off my opponent next round at the latest.

Since my Djinn Inferni targeted the melee monster first, it did double damage on it because of Giant Killer. So I was able to finish off my opponent before he had a chance to move.

Conclusion

The battle this time around went exactly as I expected. The lineup I went for had just kept dealing damage and the blast ability works really well with the scattershot ability. It wrecked my opponent and I was able to clear out 4 monsters in one round due to it.

As I said before, Yodin was a beast in this match and it greatly increased my damage. It increased the damage that I did per round greatly and most of my attacks landed in the middle of my opponent's lineup. So this meant that I damaged three cards in one attack. As for my opponent, I think the taunt monster was a mistake because scattershot ignored taunt. Other than that, I think my opponent had a fairly strong lineup but there wasn't much he could do against all the blast damage.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

It's a pity how you just wiped out your opponent the way you did. I think it was a mistake as well for your opponent to use the Taunt ability card and even if it wasn't a Scattershot ruleset I see you winning that battle because the blast will take out the card next to the Taunt card.

Yea but it wouldn't have been so one-sided without that scattershot ruleset.
