An Alpha/Beta common level monster from the Life Splinter at level 4:

  • Estimated cost: $65
  • Melee attack: 2
  • Speed: 5
  • Health: 3
  • Sneak ability: Target the last Monster on the enemy team instead of the first Monster

The Feral Spirit was covered previously in a battle featured over a year ago. In the post, I highlighted that the Feral Spirit was a card I frequently used when battling with the Life Splinter, which hasn’t changed. A combination of high speed, decent damage and Sneak ability provides a lot of utility to the backline in battle. The downside to the Feral Spirit is its low health and can be taken out quite easily by other Sneak monsters due to its squishiness.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

Playing this battle on my alt account, I decided to use some of the low mana cost Chaos Legion starter cards in combination with Feral Spirit, and this strategy worked a treat. Utilizing a combo of Sneak and Opportunity ability monsters dealing a total of 8 melee damage in an Up Close & Personal ruleset worked so well. The Feral Spirit also showed how high speed is a difference-maker with landing hits with no misses, while some of the low-level Chaos Legion cards had a couple of misses due to lower speed. The victory was clinched and showed the importance of having a well-rounded collection!

Do you like the Feral Spirit? Why or why not?

My tune hasn't changed about Feral Spirit - I love cards with high speed, which can attack from any position in the backline. The price has considerably increased since the original battle challenge. Would I spend $65 on a level 4 Feral Spirit today? No, because I'd rather spend $69 and pick up the Gold Foil level 4 version!

Good one my friend. Taunt is always better than Inspire, at least as my choice.
