After seeing @blocktrades' message in regards to analysing api.hive.blog
and hive.blog
traffic, I wondered how api.deathwing.me
was faring in the last couple of months. I think it is not a groundless assumption to say that api.deathwing.me
is potentially the second most used node on Hive.
While we did do some research and digging into momentary activity before, I haven't had the chance to analyse the usage over a period of time.
So, after taking the data from the node, this was the result:
Unfortunately, I do not have fancy graphs as BT does. Nevertheless, You can observe a steady increase in usage both in terms of total bandwidth and rate it's increasing (which means more connections) data consumption nearly tripled (almost) in the last 6 months. One important thing to note is that this data, taken from the node, is solely from the Hive API node. There is nothing else running on the machine. :)
Active connections to the node have already passed the ~1.2k mark during peak hours, and usually around ~800 during non-peak hours before.
Unfortunately, my jussi logging was not adaptable to the traffic analyzer easily, I did some changes and it should hopefully work now, though I'll be waiting for it to build data for a couple of days at the very least.
That's it for now.
Thats very impressive! Thank you for the visibility
