Looking for a developer for #posh

in HiveDevs4 years ago

Hey everyone! I'm looking for a developer for Hive and Twitter related inquiries. As I'm not a dev myself I'll be trying to write down what exactly it is I'd need as detailed as I can from my PoV and hopefully that'll be enough to find someone able to do it.

If you're a dev that happens to be reading this but won't be able to contribute but can help my coding language along to track down the right dev easier, feel free to comment about the task in your lingo. :D

The idea originates from this post about evolving #posh into a token which right now would just exist as a centralized point system. For funding I'll be either attempting to collect some donations from the community as this is a community-wide project that no one directly benefits from without engaging in it, or there will be posts with daily statistics about the distribution that will go to the developer over time until a certain quota is filled, or I'll be looking to make a DHF proposal that would include a daily HBD amount to buy #posh tokens and burn them along with some starting funds for the dev. Discussions about pay can be talked in private if necessary.

The Twitter side of things

The bot would need to fetch data from users that are sharing their links onto twitter with certain tags as requirements such as #hive & #posh.

It would count likes, retweets and comments.

Daily it would have a certain amount of tokens it would hand out to all tweets over 24 hours old. This amount of tokens should be adjustable on a weekly basis depending on the amount of unique users engaging in #posh. These tokens are as mentioned just points for now until we decide to either create a hive-engine token or await SMT's for an airdrop.

The Hive side of things

Connecting accounts with their Twitter handles and saving the info. Users will also be able to earn #posh tokens by sharing hive.blog or peakd.com links of other users thus knowing who's twitter belongs to who's hive account is important.

A blacklist would be needed for users that fake their Twitter engagement or turn out to have plagiarised or attempted identity theft on Hive.

Amount of comments on Hive and reblogs would also count for a share of #posh tokens, but here is where things could get a little complicated. We'd only count comments of users who have at one point receive ENGAGE tokens and hold at least 1 token in their Hive-engine wallet. This is to not count bots or spam comments towards it.

A post to be posted daily automatically with some statistics such as "top x daily #posh'ers" and "top x total #posh tokens earned". This one is still a bit unsure until we decide how to fund this.

From the first post I've changed it around a bit and think this is the simplest way we could get the distribution started and get the initiative going. Would be great if the dev in question interested to work on this would be open to evolving it over time as more ideas or improvements come to life while we of course compensate you for your time and skill.

Looks like Twitter has a fair amount of documentation on their API.

https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs

While it mainly looks like they support Json (JavaScript). They have other libraries from Python to C++.

https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/developer-utilities/twitter-libraries

So whoever you know that can handle the Hive side of things should be able do the Twitter side as well.

Thanks for the info! This might help me out a lot!

I think @bala41288 is the best one I know on hive who understands and works on Json. But he has dipped his hands in a couple of projects already. Don't know...Just tagging him in case.

Lol, guess I should have listened to learn Json when you told me @bala41288 😝

Thank you for the mention. It would be interesting but ya like you mentioned, I already have a few items in my plate right now. I will need at least a week to see if I can take some extra work.

By the way, it is never too late to start coding. Just get started in freecodecamp.org. I'm sure you can become a good developer in 3 months time with huge persistence.

Wow, 3 months...that sounds something I can definitely do. I have a couple of things planned till August end. I will start from September I think.

Lol, the more I talk about it with you, the more I want to learn it!

If we keep talking for a couple of months, I will definitely become an entry level coder I think.

Ya sure. It is not that difficult and you have so many great videos on youtube as well. If you sit for a day or two, I'm sure you can come up with a basic application. Only deep learning takes time. And also experience matters a little bit.

Ohh, nice...thanks for all the lessons.

You are welcome. 😀

Is freecodecamp.org advisable for me who never code before? I wanted to learn but don't know where to start.

Yes that is the best place to start. You can get started there. I'm sure with dedication you can even write your first application in just 3 months. Freecodecamp is the best place to start your coding journey. Go for it. It starts from step 1.

Update: Dev found :) Thanks for the interest and suggestions everyone!

I am just chuckling everytime I see this - despite the name's humble Proof of Share origins, POSH is such a PERFECT name for a token, and lends itself to some GREAT marketing.

I know right, wish I had been as clever when I named OCD. xD

This looks like an interesting project. I also noticed that Twitter has some decent APIs to get the information we need.

I don't have a free slot right now with me. If not I would be interested to take it up. I will check back after a week. If no one is available, I will see if I can take it up.

Tagging @reazuliqbal - Bro do you have a free slot to take this up?

I love this idea! But then I am a heavy Twitter user, so definitely would be good for me. Not a programmer though. If you tweet about this I'll retweet. I have some crypto devs who follow me.

Technically, it's probably easier to get this data out from hivesql but beem could work too. I think hivesql will be easier though.

The second part I think is pretty easy, fetching the data from Twitter though I have no idea who'd be the right dev for it. For the rest I know many who can but thought maybe I could happen to find one that can do both and it wouldn't get as complicated.

I understand twitter have some kind of api so it should be able to find someone who can do both.

Good luck in finding the right person!

@bala41288, would you like to take up this?

Thanks for the tag @codingdefined. I'm currently occupied for the next week. I'm working on two projects already. But this one looks pretty interesting. Twitter also has a good API. So, it should be easier to achieve.

I will see if someone else is pitching in or else I will contact @acidyo after a week once I get free.

How about you? You don't have a free slot?

I will get a free slot after a week only, maybe next week. I think if not for acid, I can create an open-source repository for the same requirement for anyone to use.

Just thought I'd let you know that we found a dev. Thanks for the interest either way. :)

Great to know, just wanted to know if it will be an open-sourced?

That's nice. 🙂

Not sure if this so right but yeah, I'd like to work alongside you if your timeline allows to go i to the project. Straight from bootcamp , currently fighting off the FCC curriculum. Do let me know how to contact your please.

You can contact me on Discord. bala41288#4486

Great. Thanks and all the best. 👍

@acidyo finally "POSH" is slowly taking place , I would love to grab small quantity. The "POSH" name only suggest that we are rich already 😉.

I'm currently a moderator of https://mobile.twitter.com/HivePolish
Account that shares content from Polish Hive Community and #polish.
I wish you succeed on your pursuit, but can you please elaborate on how to take part in #posh
I do share hive links with #posh is there anything required more?

Looking forward to see this initiative started!

Thanks @acidyo! 🙂

I just sent you a message on discord.

Excellent, I always publish my posts on twitter but I forget to put the comment in my post, this would solve this and besides it would motivate people to generate more promotion to the platform through Twitter, I hope to get that developer soon

Hi, it's interesting that I was looking for similar thing, I think in addition it should also credit people for sharing it on other social media accounts like reddit, Facebook, etc. Even if the author is willing to share their earning with those who will share his/her content. Maybe a browser plugin would do?

"Although there are many misconceptions about hiring remote software development teams, the reason to build a remote team virtually outdoes the shortcomings by short numbers. In this way we take a closer look at the backend developers collaborating with people from all over the world offers small business owners to help them initiate programs.

"

Kind of a weird timing on the post to comment and from a brandnew account with 25 rep, how'd you get here?
