Hive-Roller.com is looking to contract a front end developer to support mobile

Hail all, hope all is well. After much debating and struggling long hours with front end code it has been decided to begin looking for a front end developer to help with certain aspects of the Hive-Roller.com site that I've been building over the past few years. This opportunity will manifest itself in the form of an "as needed" contract in which work will be posted and a period for potential developer prospects to apply for the work before someone is chosen to complete it. From there upon work completion the contracted developer may either choose to receive a lump sum payout in HIVE for their work or receive a percentage of the sites investment commission profit for an amount of time after the completion of the contact.

All contracts will have their payout on completion of work agreed upon before hand with it being posted to the HIVE blockchain in order to be a poinyt of immutable reference in the case of a disagreement about pay being made later down the line. As it sits I'm currently looking for an experienced front end coder.

Currently the site looks like the picture below on a desktop:

The mobile version currently renders an unusable page like this:

As you can see the site currently needs a bit of work in regards to scaling with mobile screen sizes, however unfortunately I'm at my wits end trying to juggle fixing the front end stuff while trying to continue developing the server side stuff at the same time. Hence this post looking to hire someone who has the skillset to get the site updated to a version that is mobile friendly, and thus able to be used by more people.

If this sort of challenge interest you, and you'd like to earn some HIVE or become a commissions partner for a few months please read the information below and see if you're a good fit for this task.

Minimum requirements to apply:

  • Must be proficient in HTML, CSS and Javascript / Jquery
  • Those with portfolios or sites they can prove they've worked on created / preferred
  • No formal education required, with preference given to self taught individuals
  • Must be able to provide cross platform and browser testing of their work
  • Willing to take existing HTML and stylesheets and optimize them for mobile and desktop resolutions
  • Must be willing to work quickly and deliver ready to test code in allotted time-frames

If the points above resonate closely to your skill-set and you've got some spare time to take on this contract I'd love to hear from you below. Please share your portfolio or resume alongside any proofs you have of working on various projects, as well as write a bit about yourself, what programming languages you generally use and how long you've been coding. Everyone who applies will be looked at and over the next few days I'll be publicly announcing who gets the contract to finish the mobile version of the site.

Below is the contract I'm wishing to hire a front end developer to complete:

Task:

Contractor will be given existing front end client code and will be required to apply changes which allow it to properly display on display resolutions of all sizes. The inbuilt trollbox located on the left hand of the site will need to be moved to the left side bottom tab in the event the site detects a mobile display resolution. Currently the site has some "hacky" Jquery code on the index.html page that tries to perform modifications to the various site elements that need changing and scaling however I would prefer if the mobile rendering be done purely in CSS or in cross browser friendly javascript if need be.

Time Frame:

The time in which this task should take a skilled front end developer is that of less than 1 week working a few hours a day at the most. For a professional front end person this task may only take a few concentrated hours, minus testing on various resolutions. While brief testing is expected to ensure display on a variety of displays is properly done, the final testing will be done by the community on the live site.

Payment:

A few different methods of payment are going to be offered upon completion of this task. The first is an outright payment of 400 HIVE once the task is done. The second is opting out of the payment upon completion of the task and instead opting to be paid 2% of the Hive-Roller.com commission fees (22.22% of what the site makes) for a period of 3 months, paid out weekly. When applying for this contract please remember to state which form of payment you prefer. Bonuses may be given for accelerated delivery of the end product assuming it is high quality and meets the criteria mentioned above.

Lump sum payment of 400 HIVE or 3 month commission partnership will be paid once I've been able to verify that mobile display and chat integration into a tab has been completed.

Thank you for reading, voting and applying!
