Welcome to Another Review

Today I'm reviewing “Middle-earth: Shadow of War Definitive Edition” for the PS4. Shadow of war is an action role-playing game developed by Monolith Productions. Players assume the role of the range Italian and a spirit of Elf Lord "Celebrimbor" who shares the same body. The game starts with the two characters forging a new ring of power to help build an army to overthrow Sauron. The Nemesis system for Shadow of Mordor returns with more complex options as well as dominating orcs you can gain followers and from several other races including rooks and hogs so the prologue sees Celebrimbor being held captive by Shelob the giant evil spider who miraculously transforms into a hot brunette. The game is basically one big power struggle between Shelob Celebrimbor Italian and Sauron with the rings of power corrupting all around them in the pursuit of this domination. Anyone familiar with the shadow of Mordor will feel right at home, for the most part, the game is very similar in terms of the controls and the general premise you go to a region find an or captain kill them or dominate them or recruit them to do your bidding but the big change in Shadow of war is the addition of siege warfare the game has multiple regions with fortresses.

Your job is to overthrow the dark forces by diminishing their ranks recruiting new warriors and upgrading your siege forces with the eventual goal being a siege battle where you attempt to overthrow the fortress the controls are excellent and the volume of moves and special attacks at your disposal is quite frankly mind-boggling as well as basic 360-degree attacks and parries you've got special mind control powers and you've got superhuman parkour abilities wraith mode allows you to isolate captain's location if you want to assassinate them with your special abilities. These special abilities are managed via the complex and in-depth skill tree. As you kill enemies you gain experience money and collectibles that can all be used to power up augment or a Prue your statistics or captain's drop special weapons and armor which can be equipped and modified in some cases as with the previous title the orc captains can be dominated or even recruited to your army or you can just kill them outright or if you're feeling particularly evil you can humiliate them which downgrades them a few levels. The Nemesis system returns in brief. it means each Hawk has a memory and if you encounter one on multiple occasions they will remember you and they will let you know it as well if you die at the hands of that all that hawk will get promoted and in some cases, they will get new abilities or special skills that will make them harder to kill next time you see them.

It's an excellent system and it makes each encounter with an orc captain feel realistic because everyone will have their own personal nemesis and they'll have this kind of historical grudges with lots of different walks in the map and it's the orcs that really steal the show again the voice acting and the way they've developed the characters they're just brilliant like there's some of them are scary creepy some of them are just campus Christmas and some of them are just hilarious and all of these orcs they love they do love a bit of trash talk every time you bump into them they're just gonna give you some abuse so with this special edition you get the blade of Galadriel DLC desolation of Mordor and you get several new orc tribes.

The blade of Galadriel takes place after the main game you play as an elf character and it's kind of a bit like a continuation at the main story it's you know taking fortresses and defending fortresses it's kind of cool but it's very similar desolation of Mordor you play Baron or whose humans so the game is different because when he dies it's our value lose all your help posts you keep your experience but you do lose some of your progression and he's human so he doesn't have all these superpowers so he has these cool gadgets that are made by this dwarf friend of his. Personally that I really enjoyed that DLC desolation of Mordor, the new orc tribes they are implemented into the main game once you've unlocked them they're all really cool really well-designed so like all of the DLC you get really does add to the game there's also another weapon that you get as well for the main Qwest but if you want to know more about the story DLCs stay tuned to the end. Overall shadow of war it's a huge game with lots of depth and it's got massive amounts of gameplay to get your teeth into the orcs are fantastic.

The story is pretty good the Nemesis system makes the game constantly interesting and it's just a really really good game great combat great story great sieges there's always something to keep you kind of locked in graphically the game is solid throughout the attention to detail on the character models is amazing and the weapons and the armor looks sensational the different regions mix up the visual experience and the menus are generally pretty easy to follow although the perk tree is a little bit cumbersome the audio is absolutely supremely good the voice acting is perfect for the characters music is awesome and it's really just like being in a lord that Rings movie okay what's good and what's bad what's good the combat is smooth and the controls allow for some amazingly fluid battles the Nemesis system had so much depth of gameplay the orc design is even better than the first game the ability to build your own army adds endless possibilities.

The story DLCs are short-lived by entertaining and this Edition comes with some really cool new org tribes what's bad the combat can get a little bit repetitive taking down regions fortresses feels the same regardless of the area and the game can be a little bit overly long and the final phase of the game does seem to go on forever so what's the verdict shadow of war is an amazing combat game with real depth the Nemesis system works so well and the orcs bring the whole experience to life every time you play you feel like it's a different experience and there will always be another orc trash-talking or to be your nemesis I mean I loved shadow of Mordor the first game I thought that was an exceptional piece of work and it brought in some really interesting game mechanics that we hadn't seen like the Nemesis system this game brings all of those things forward. It adds more elements and it's just for a combat game. for a Lord of the Rings game, for a game that's got so much variety with warfare, it's an amazing piece of work and I really enjoyed it.
