Rabona review (Season #6)

in Hive Gaming3 years ago

Hello,

This is my first post in Hive Gaming community. I am not much of a gamer (anymore), but I still find some time to take part in games from time to time. There is a lot of quality content in Hive Gaming community, so I like reading it and put some curation vote as well to support effort given.

Well today I will write shortly about Rabona and my experience with it.
From my very young age I always played Football managers. That is the game where I definitely spent the most time at. I like this game style and huge connection with real life and my passion for sport. I also played some online football managers, but lately I don’t have much time anymore as I have now my own family and a lot of things to do connected with it so I am not playing any game no more.
Well that changed a bit about one month ago, where I saw announcement for new football manager game online which will be run connected with Hive (which takes a lot of my time as well). I read intro post and decide that I will give it a try, why not.
I think starting the game at that time cost me 5$ which I paid through my Hive savings and fun could begin.

In my first season, which was officially Season 2, I finished on third place which was a great start and gave me motivation to continue playing. The game also doesn’t consume a lot of my time as it is simple, at least the way I am playing it – for fun.
Next season I dropped a place or two, but in Season 4 I was runner up in my league, so I was just a bit short of promotion. I expected a lot from Season 5, but slow start on the places around 10, gave me no chance to catch up the leader and I finished fifth. Recently finished season was finally my season if I can say like that. I started with some nice wins for three or even four goals and was leading from round one to the final round, so now I am League 2 and hope I will stay there.
I am sharing my league table from last season below. I am proud on my defense and offense as I was the best on both sides among all in the league. Still it wasn’t an easy win. I had to fight hard with runner up. At the end two wins against them (both by one goal) turned the league in my favor.

Why I succeeded this season? It might be connected with some strengths I brought in my team before this season. I sign some free agents with high salary, but also with good overall skills. On every playing position I bring a player (except GK). I also gave a lot of attention to individual skills and tried not to waste too much on skills which are not that important in my understanding (GK for field players, dribbling for DEF, DEF for strikers, CLV for all, HB for most,…). I also read an article published by Rabona expert @jelly13 which helped me know a little bit more about the game. Especially I put more weight into Teamplayer stat.
Most goals last season were scored by my center forward with great shot attribute and speedy midfielder both brought at the beginning of previous season.
I have to admit that I had a lot of luck with injuries as well. I think only one player was injured and that was for longer period, but I had it covered. Also suspension was just one for four games, which is great related to previous seasons.
Below you can take a look at my squad currently. I let go some of the players and didn’t bring any new one as my financial status is not the best right now, but more is following…

We were all surprised by gift which awaited us on our Rabona bank accounts in value of 500.000 RBN. What I did with that money? Extend my stadium to level 7. That was expensive and took almost whole reward cash. Anyway I know how important stadium capacity is and I felt that is great possibility for an upgrade as I was aiming for the promotion and I can imagine that will bring more visitors as well. I also invested in some of the new features (Training center mostly). I also sold my second goalkeeper as I hope I will need only one. I am risking, but in case of injury I will quickly sign one. Below you can see my financial summary. I know it is poor, but hopefully new advertisement contract will bring better days to the office as I just sign 400.000 RBN / year contract this season.

Well that was recap of my Rabona life with focus mostly on previous season. Currently we are two games into new season and I can see that level here is much higher. Currently I am in the red zone with two losses, but only with one goal so I can hope for a little luck and to survive this year and strengthen my team a bit next year if the finances will allow that.
I will try to keep up with each season review from now on.
I will be happy also if you will share any advice in the comment section below.
