I hate rats but love this game

I finally got the chance to play this awesome game that was released back in 2019. A Plague Tale Innocence was recently upgraded for next-gen consoles. It was included as one of the free PS Plus games for PS5 users like myself. This meant I finally was going to get to experience this interesting title. Not only was I finally able to play it, but I was treated with special enhancements such as DualSense controller support, better visuals, and speedy load times.

Plague Tale is set in France during the mid-1300s. This is a time when the plague was beginning to wreak havoc across Europe. The game takes this brutal time period and adds its own spin on it, focusing on the darkness of the rats.

Gameplay-wise, this is a linear stealth experience. There is some slight exploration within each chapter, but no open world here. I have played through nearly half of the chapters now and I can say that this game rocks!

In this video, you can watch me start my playthrough and finish the first chapter. I'll show off the basics and you can hear my honest reaction during my first time finally experiencing A Plague Tale Innocence on PS5.

Thanks for checking out my video 😎🤝

Let me know what you think of this game by the looks of it. Have you already played it? Do you think you'll come back to it again to experience the next-gen upgrades? Leave a comment and let's have a conversation.

This looks great. I'm generally not that much into stealth games but hearing y'all talk about it makes me want to play it. I'm picking it up for free in a couple of days on Epic.

The stealth keeps getting better in this one. I just recorded chapter X last night and it was pretty much all stealth focused. It was so intense and had me screaming in fear when I messed up and was brutally slaughtered.

Getting this for free was a huge bonus, but now that I’ve played it and know what it’s like... I would have happily paid $20 to play this 2 years after it initially released.

This game is brutal. Watching the plague of rats move is definitely scary xD. I loved that it's a pure stealth and puzzle game, I thought it would have a lot more action but honestly it didn't need to. You should also try Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. I don't know if maybe you already did, but it's another great linear game.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice.

This was such an awesome recommendation. I can't believe I had never heard of this game before. It totally looks right up my alley. I just watched this video:

Made me want to play it right away.

I'm glad you liked it, I was sure of that xD. I'll be on the lookout to see some video of you playing the game to see how it goes!

Brutal indeed. Every time I get caught while sneaking, they also murder the kids. It's pretty insane and I love it. This time in history is eerily similar to today in a few totalitarian ways.

I haven't played Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, but I am looking up a review for it now to see what it’s about. Thanks for the recommendation and comment.

I love the interaction of players and the story. The game looks very attractive. I do not own a PS5 but I will search for a PC version.

It’s a very well done game. Professional on all levels, the story gets you hooked.

Good news for you, this game is about to be free on PC next week. Here are the details: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thegamer.com/a-plague-tale-innocence-free-epic-games-store/amp/

Thank you for the link.
I will follow the details and play the game.

puff the setting of the game is imposing, I like it.

It goes from gorgeous France to deathly dark France in a matter of one Chapter. Quite the setting indeed.
