Getting back into Assassin's Creed: Odyssey

Wasn't a fan of Origins

After I beat Valhalla, I bought the AC: Origins game and started playing it. The game was alright, but there were some things about it that I couldn't get past.

One of the main things was the combat. During combat, things would slow down after every few strikes for no reason, like they were trying to replay parts of the movie 300. It was pretty annoying because it made the controller inputs seem to lag and my character wouldn't do what I had wanted him to do. Blocking and parrying didn't seem to work as great as the two latest Assassin's Creed games.

Another thing I couldn't get into was the whole quest system. In Valhalla, the quests seemed to flow pretty easily and you could go about the world doing the main story line and along the way, it was very easy to find and complete side quests. In Origins though, the game doesn't do a good job at keeping things moving along. I spent a lot of time riding to random quests and trying to find quest givers on my map so that my character could get stronger. This ruined the whole immersion and story for me.

So yesterday I bought Odyssey and starting playing it over again. I got about 40 hours into the game last time, and I had a blast. For this play through, I chose the male version of the character, so hopefully that gives a bit of a different play style.

So far I am having fun playing it. The combat and story are a lot better than in Origins. Plus I got to climb up on Zeus's wiener. I almost fell off it as I was trying to get this screenshot, but luckily his foreskin made a good hand hold for my character.

The game has so many little side things to do and I am looking forward to playing through the game again and actually get closer to finishing it. There are some things I like about this game over Valhalla, like the epic naval battles. I spent so long just cruising the waters and battling ships.

I am a couple hours in and getting ready to leave the starting zone. I have a few interviews I am going to be filming later this evening, so I have some things to do to get ready for them, but hopefully I have some time to play Odyssey for a bit before that.

Sort:

Odyssey is a better game, no question of that. I am back on Valhalla though, the main questline (there's nothing else) is decent.

Is that you hanging from someone's cock and hoping to live?

I really liked Valhalla. It was a lot of fun and I am looking forward to the extra content to be released as well.

It was Zeus's pecker I was dangling from. Good thing he had so much foreskin to hold onto so I didn't fall.
