The Crew 2: Episode 2 of "American Legends" season landed [Let's Play Games #87]

Heya, racers! It's been a while... wasn't it?

Almost 3 weeks passed since my last post from The Crew 2, but just 5 days since a new episode was added to the American Legends that I keep saying that it's the best season released so far. And even though you might think it's a little bit late to join the party, keep in mind that there are 50 days left until the episode will be gone so there's plenty of time you can enjoy gaming while adding some more vanity items and cars to your collections.

Anyway, the game already earned its fans with weekly Live Summits released and hundreds of races of all kinds, so I'm happy to see that Ubisoft is still bringing joy with its updates to the game because it became one of the most played games by me with over 345 hours on record and I can easily say that yes, there are plenty of things to do in this game.

While the experience playing the other seasons released in this game made me get used to a little break of a few days or weeks between the seasons and episodes, I'm happy to see that starting with this season players don't need to wait anymore because the things are moving pretty fast and as soon as one episode ends, a big update comes with either a new episode or season added to the game but also more Live Summits that you can experience weekly.

And yes, if you are wondering if the picture from above is from the game, it is. It's a screenshot of the cinematic that will run on your screen as soon as you open up the game which introduces you to the current season but also gives you a sneak peak to the cars you can collect if you complete all 50 levels of the season or if you purchase the premium version of the Motorflix. It's basically like getting an operation in CS:GO, or a season pass to a game but where this time will unlock you all the rewards you can collect at each level because if you don't buy it, you will only be allowed to claim some of the rewards.

If you are the kind of gamer who gets excited quickly when you find out that there are more things you can do in your favourite game, do keep in mind that along with the tens of rewards you can claim, there are also the not missing 2 stories that will be added to the game every Wednesday when a new Live Summit is released too, where not only that you will have fun tracking a story for a while, but you will also walk away with more money in your pocket and more vehicles and vanity items in your collection.

Though, the whole event is based on the 60s and 80s vehicles so don't expect to get an i8 or Bugatti as a reward at the end of a story.

The i8 though, you can still get for FREE if you reach a specific level in the Motorflix where this vehicle represents the reward and which is not requiring the premium pass, but if you are a seeker of more exclusive and rare items that you won't see being used by every player the game has, do consider purchasing the premium Motorpass bundle which will come with 12 more rewards that are not included in the basic version.

Anyway, I'm that kind of person who hides her excitement really hard so as soon as the update was made to the game I completed both the Live Summit and 2 stories added on the same day, adding a Pontiac GTO to my collection as a reward for the first story.

The sad part is that I still don't have enough bucks to get the Premium Motorpass of the game and put my hands on more rewards, BUT the good part is that I only need a few more levels completed in the tier and then I'll have enough CC to purchase this. I still don't know if I should get the current one or just wait for the next episode/season, but I guess there is plenty of time to think about it, lol.

A faster way of earning levels in the tier is by completing the weekly challenges where each challenge will take you 2 levels further in the Motorflix, but there are also the daily ones which will reward you with one level in your journey.

However, while some of the weekly challenges are pretty technical requiring to get a number of wins with a specific car, or win races without using nitro, there is also one (guaranteed) that only asks you to complete one of the weekly stories added to the game. So you can "kill two birds with one stone" if you complete the stories that will both come with bigger rewards than usual but also take you 2 steps closer to the end of the tier.

Though, if you are curious about what makes me keep playing this game over and over again, is the part of talking about a game that you can enjoy playing it solo or multiplayer just as much.

I think we can all agree that there are these games where even if they are multiplayer you still need to have a close friend to make a team with or you will end up losing the match, or the games that even though they have the co-op version, it's better to keep playing solo... so The Crew 2 is finally that type of game where you can spend hours of playing both on your own or with a friend.

From completing stories or races, to exploring the lands of the US that are very detailed in the game, or even taking pictures of your car or the wild animals, there are plenty of things to enjoy every day... for many days in a row. I'll leave down below a trailer to the current season if you are curious about how it all looks like:

Did you play this game?

What are your thoughts on the current season and how the developers of the game manage all the updates and daily, weekly and monthly events?

Damn 345 hours played it's a bunch of time! I love that you can invest so much time playing, my record was 250 in Red Death Redemption.

Ubisoft definitely knows how to make games, they are experts in developing content and keeping you hooked for a long time to the game, although it can be expensive to buy 5 or 6 DLCs. I like your reward the Pontiac GTO is great but I like the Camaro z28 it's my dream car, do you know if this car is in the game?

Oh, so you think 345 hrs is much? What do you think of my 5,000+ hrs in CSGO then? Haha 🤣

As for the games developed by ubisoft - absolutely. They definitely know how to create games that keep players interested in the games released. But just like you said, there are plenty of DLCs that sort of force you to purchase them in order to enjoy the game. Which is not that nice anymore.

Yes, there is Camaro z28 in the game, along with a few other Camaro cars. I love them too! Nice pick! 🙂

Are you serious 5k h? Hahahah

IDK Rick, I wanted my Lambo haha.

Hahaha. Plenty of Lambos to pick from though!
