Sometimes you can make a game quite simple in concept but that turns out to be quite fun and entertaining as well as presenting a somewhat different way in the gameplay to what we are used to in other similar games. Road Rash 3 is an old motorcycle racing game with almost 30 years old since it was released in 1995 for the Sega Genesis or Mega Drive. This game is not the typical racing game where we just drive to get first place.
In this title we have a very funny mechanic within the game and it is about being able to hit and attack the other racers in the middle of the race. At first we can give blows with our fists to the sides and thus unbalance and even knock down their motorcycle to the opponents but we also have a variety of weapons that we can get by taking them out of the hands of the other bikers who have them, we have a good variety of weapons which range from sticks, chains, levers and oil to throw on the road. Even the rider is able to have several weapons at the same time and can switch between them to hit others.

The theme or objective of the game is quite simple in concept, we have different circuits or races around the world in countries like Brazil, Germany, Kenya, United Kingdom and Italy where our goal is to be on the podium preferably first among a total of 14 motorcyclists besides us and where we will always come last to make things more fun. When we finish first in the races we will receive $1000, $750 for finishing second and $500 for finishing in third place. After completing all the circuits we will go up a level where we will be able to race in other different countries like Australia or race in the same countries but with more difficulty, this difficulty will mean higher speed of the motorcycles of the other racers and more complicated circuits and with more obstacles.

As we collect money product of the races we can invest it in the store both to get improvements and upgrades for our current motorcycle and to buy better motorcycles that will have more health and speed, as we progress through the game this becomes mandatory if we want to keep winning all the races. The game has a good variety of motorcycles reaching a total of 15 different cataloged in 3 groups of 5 being Rat, Sport and Super respectively. During the race the control will be as simple as possible, a button to accelerate which once the race starts we will never let go as in any good racing game, a button to perform the blows either by hand or with the weapon and knock down opponents, and direction controls to move the motorcycle to the left or right.
During the circuits we will have different obstacles on the road as other vehicles circulating in any of the two lanes, vehicles or objects parked in the middle of the road and even some animals or people crossing the road and we must avoid, if we hit them the character will be thrown forward and after a few laps on the ground will rise again and walk to his motorcycle to continue the race, similarly to receive these blows the motorcycle will lose stamina or health and we must be careful not to destroy it completely or we will suffer a fairly serious penalty for it. We can also find police motorcycles on the road and we have the option to hit them but this will cause them to chase us with a police helicopter to try to stop us and if we get it we will have a penalty quite similar to destroy the motorcycle.

The penalties for destroying the motorcycle or being arrested by the police will be to pay the full amount of the motorcycle or pay a fine if arrested, if we do not have enough money at that time to pay the debt will have to perform a fairly important race where we are asked to knock down and stop a specific runner in the next race, if we manage to stop everything will be resolved and continue with the game without any problems but if we are not able to meet this goal we will be punished with a Game Over and we will have to start the game again. It is incredible how a game so simple in concept but with a slight novelty could turn out to be so fun and entertaining. A great classic of the 90's and a great reminder of the incredible and fantastic Sega Genesis in its time.

Algunas veces se puede hacer un juego bastante sencillo en concepto pero que resulta ser bastante divertido y entretenido al igual que presentar una forma algo diferente en la jugabilidad a la que estamos acostumbrados en otros juegos similares. Road Rash 3 es un juego de carreras en motocicletas bastante antiguo con casi 30 años de antigüedad pues el mismo fue lanzado en 1995 para la Sega Génesis o Mega Drive. Este juego no es el típico juego de carreras en donde solo conducimos para llegar en primer lugar.
En este título contamos con una mecánica bastante divertida dentro del juego y la misma se trata en poder golpear y atacar a los demás corredores en mitad de la carrera. En un principio podemos dar golpes con los puños hacia los costados y de esta manera desequilibrar y hasta derribar de su motocicleta a los adversarios pero también contamos con una gran variedad de armas que podremos ir consiguiendo al quitárselas de las manos a los demás motociclistas que las posean, contamos con una buena variedad de armas las cuales van desde Palos, Cadenas, Palancas y aceite para arrojar en el camino. Incluso el corredor es capaz de tener varias armas a la vez y poder alternar entre las mismas para golpear a los demás.

La temática u objetivo del juego es bastante simple en concepto, contamos con diferentes circuitos o carreras alrededor del mundo en países como Brasil, Alemania, Kenia, Reino Unido e Italia en donde nuestro objetivo es quedar en el podio preferiblemente de primeros entre un total de 14 motociclistas además de nosotros y en donde siempre saldremos de últimos para hacer las cosas más divertidas. Al lograr quedar de primeros en las carreras recibiremos $1000, $750 al quedar de segundos y $500 por quedar en el tercer lugar. Luego de completar todos los circuitos subiremos de nivel en donde podremos correré en otros diferentes países como Australia o correr en los mismos anteriores pero todo con mayor dificultad, esta dificultad significara mayor velocidad de las motocicletas de los demás correderos y circuitos más complicados y con más obstáculos.

Según vamos reuniendo dinero producto de las carreras lo podremos invertir en la tienda tanto para conseguir mejoras y actualizaciones para nuestra motocicleta actual como poder comprar mejores motocicletas que tendrán más salud y velocidad, según vamos avanzando en el juego esto se hace obligatorio si queremos seguir ganando todas las carreras. El juego cuenta con una buena variedad de Motocicletas llegando a un total de 15 diferentes catalogadas en 3 grupos de 5 siendo Rat, Sport y Súper respectivamente. Durante la carrera el control será de lo más simple posible, un botón para acelerar al cual una vez empiece la carrera nunca soltaremos como en todo buen juego de carreras, un botón para realizar los golpes sea con la mano o con el arma y derribar a los adversarios, y los controles de dirección para mover la motocicleta a la izquierda o a la derecha.
Durante los circuitos tendremos diferentes obstáculos en la vía como otros vehículos circulando por algún de los dos carriles, vehículos u objetos estacionados a mitad de carretera y hasta algunos animales o personas que cruzan la carretera y que debemos evitar, si llegamos a chocar con los mismo el personaje saldrá despedido hacia adelante y luego de dar algunas vueltas en el suelo volverá a levantarse y caminará hasta su motocicleta para continuar con la carrera, de igual forma al recibir estos golpes la motocicleta perderá Resistencia o Salud y tendremos que tener cuidado con no destruirla completamente o sufriremos una penalización bastante grave por ello. También podremos encontrar a motocicletas policiales en la vía y tenemos la opción de golpear a las mismas pero esto causara que nos persigan con un helicóptero de la policía para tratar de deteneros y de conseguirlo tendremos una penalización bastante similar a destruir la motocicleta.

Las penalizaciones por destruir la motocicleta o ser arrestado por la policía será la de pagar el monto total de la motocicleta o de pagar una multa en caso de ser arrestados, si no contamos con el dinero suficiente en ese momento para pagar la deuda tendremos que realizar una carrera bastante importante en donde se nos pide derribar y detener a un corredor en específico en la próxima carrera, si lo conseguimos detener todo quedara resuelto y continuaremos con el juego sin ningún inconveniente pero si no somos capaces de cumplir este objetivo se nos castigara con una Game Over y nos tocara volver a empezar el juego otra vez. Es increíble como un juego tan simple en concepto pero con una ligera novedad podía resultar siendo tan divertido y entretenido. Un gran clásico de la época de los 90´y un gran recuerdo de los increíble y fantástica que fue la Sega Génesis en su tiempo.
