Ballads and Brews is a limited-time event in Genshin Impact's version 3.1. It's an event that consists of many mini-events that can award you with a free weapon, Primogems, Mora, and many other things. By gathering Festive Fever at the Weinlesefest celebration, you unlock the exclusive 4 star polearm weapon and it's refinements.

This video is from the official genshin impact youtube channel. It's the end cutscene we get in the game after completing all the event's main quests. It's a super cute cutscene!

The storyline in this event follows a character named Razor, who is a playable 4 star electro character in Genshin. Razor was raised by the wolf pack of the Wolf of the North, Andrius, after being abandoned by his parents as a baby. He has gradually begun to reintegrate with people after an accidental meeting with Varka, the current Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius and the Knight of Boreas.

These are some of the screenshots from the quest.

Starting the event's storyline, a box was left by Razor's parents which was found by reading out the letter sent by Varka. It was put on us to break the news to Razor, as it may be difficult for him to adjust to this information. Us and Paimon discover Razor hunting in Wolvendom. When we break the news to Razor, he has mixed feelings about learning the truth about his parents. We reassure him, though, that Razor will always have our support no matter what. Razor then makes the decision to find out more.

For Razor, Lisa opens the wooden box. A woolen hand puppet, a Ruin Guard piece, and—most significantly—a bottle of Thousand-Wind Wine are all included in the package. According to Lisa, the first and most uncommon form of wine that Mondstadters learned to brew is Thousand-Wind Wine. This implied that the wine in the bottle was made by Razor's parents because of how different the methods used to make it and the flavours it generates. They wait two days for the Weinlesefest because they want to learn more about the wine bottle. So then eventually Razor can learn more about his parents. This story is fitting for the festival as Mondstadt is known for its wine culture.

This is how the event storyline starts as we try to discover more about Razor's parents who abandoned him. Alongside these quests we're able to partake in mini events to gain rewards. This first one on the image above is related to the animals in Mondstadt. Basically, in the first part you have to attack the boars. In the second part you have to capture the animals in the net by sneaking up to them. Here are the basic rules of this specific event: (click the images to enlarge them to make it easier to read.)

This second one is about killing enemies in Mondstadt in multiple areas. We can obtain different buffs to kill them faster. The wind currents were a great addition to get to the next fighting area quicker! This one is pretty self explanatory, you just have to clear all the enemies in each specified location.

The third one, which is my favourite mini event in this actually, is where you run shops and try raise as much money possible. The Goal is to get over 1 million mora. You do this through levelling different aspects in your store, (e.g. product quality or business efficiency) through investing in these you're able to gain more money in your stores. Here are the basic rules: (click to enlarge images so it's easier to read.)

The last event is pretty simple. You just have to find a certain number of chests in specific areas. They give you hints in each one to help you locate the chests. From these chests you're able to unlock shop accessories used to decorate your shop (from the above event.) And get even more primogems!

Throughout this event you gain festive fever which earns you rewards (this new 4 star weapon.) As well as refinements for it to make it more stronger. This weapon isn't super overpowered or anything, however it's good especially if you're free to play (and you use the new 5 star Cyno.) However a downside is that this weapon doesn't provide crit rate / crit dmg so you would need to get that from artifacts. The weapon can also be good on Xiangling, As it should be used on a character who heavily relies on elemental reactions to gain the most use of the passive. (bear in mind there are other better weapons to use instead - The Catch is a better craftable free-to-play option. But this weapon is better than nothing, or if you lack polearms in your account.)

While the main craze in Genshin Impact at the moment is the new Sumeru region, it's nice how they still add monstadt region events where we still interact with old characters. Monstadt is the region where we started our entire adventure and it's always nostalgic to go back! It gives the most 'homey' feel compared to all the other regions.

Overall this event was pretty fun and rewarding as you get lots of primogems. The mini shop event was my favourite one because it was something unique and different that we've never had on Genshin. I hope they create an event something like that again in the future!

In the end of these quests, we unfortunately didn't get to find out much about Razor's parents. Although Razor doesn't know his parents, he called his friends his "lupical" which means family. These event quests shows that family can run deeper than just through blood. Which I think is a beautiful message.

❝ I still don't understand my mother and father but... I still have you, and everyone else... In my wine, there is a lot of... Friendship... Friends... are also lupical. Whether I'm human, or I'm wolf... It doesn't matter. From now on, all of us are together. ❞ ~ Razor

I have seen a lot of articles about this game, it must be a nice game. If I may ask, how was your experience playing the game?

It's actually my all-time favourite game! The graphics are beautiful and it's crazy that such a high quality game like this is free to play. my favourite part of the game is the open world exploration and building my characters to make them super strong. Genshin can get some bad rep sometimes because it's a gacha game, however you don't have to spend any money at all if you don't want to. It's still possible to play and enjoy the game and everything without taking the credit card out. Definitely worth a try if you're interested! (:

Thank you for the heartfelt response. I'll check it out when I have time.

Sounds like a fun event with interesting story lines and things to do in the mini events. Thanks for sharing with us! :)

Anytime! Thank you

I found this event very interesting in its history, whenever it tells us more about the past of a character it's very funny.
Running your own store was something curious and although this new spear I don't know well to which character to place it has a great design :D

Yes, I forgot to mention the nice design of that weapon in this blog post haha. I'm tempted to raise and play with this weapon just for the aesthetics. Thanks for viewing!
