Hazeworld - Finished Farm + Build Video!

in Hive Gaming2 years ago

Well, gang, I did it! I finished the farm and put what I think is a pretty rad outside on the whole thing.

If you want to skip the screenshots and prefer to watch me ramble for 50m while I build this from start to finish, you can find that video here:

Otherwise, the actual post continues below! (And I provide a second link at the bottom for the video if you're interested).

I think you're already familiar with the entranceway that I first designed and used as my build palate, but for easy reference, this is the first piece I built and it informed the rest of the design:

The first job was just to build up walls to what I was considering my half-way point, and after that, I had to tackle the eye-wrenching flatness of it all. So, I looked at all the various junk I had in trunks and came up with a plan.

Trap doors, chains, and grindstones!

Looking good so far I think! I decided to forego matching any particular

Here I've added the roof to the sugarcane farm, and it looks alright but we'll do more with this in a bit as I'm not totally satisfied with it yet.

With the roof on the sugarcane farm started, but not looking super great yet, it was time to play around with some edging. I tried a bunch of block combinations but landed on this one in the end as I felt it popped the most with the rest of the design.

Bleh and boring.

Supah Fine!

With that done, the next item on the list to complete was the bamboo section's roof. I wanted this one to have a much different feel than the sloped sugarcane part, and ended up going with a sort of nordic style? I think?

Whatever the real-world style, it looked snappy in my world I thought. Both at night, and in the daytime.

So, with those two out of the way it was time to follow through with another thing I mused about: adding some height to the center before giving it a roof as well! Which meant I needed another design. It took a bit to come up with something I didn't hate, and I'm not entirely sure I will keep this as-is... but for now, this is good enough and fits the vibe I was hoping for.

Unfortunately, the flat look of it wasn't really filling me with joy, so I had to reach for my inner Marie Kondo and throw out some shit that I didn't love... to replace it with something I might love!

Just look at how that pops now! I really like it, though I think I may have to go back and add a bottom frame to it as well, seeing it again in my screenshots here as I type this.

But, either way, that's for another time. For now, what this addition did was provide me inspiration for it's own roof.

Frame goes up!

Filled in! Spruce and dark oak really work well together in this roof design I think!

Might have to come back to this in the future and make a balcony back here or something. I was lacking inspiration and so just capped it off and said 'good enough' but, I know it'll eventually become annoying and force me to fix it.

It's sometimes hard to really make out the depth to the dark oak sections at night, but that's not a deal-breaker for me.

Particularly because in the light of day, it looks fuckin fine.

All in all, I am really satisfied with this build. Probably one of my best so far since starting this world, and while I know there's a lot for me to learn as a builder... I'm very proud of where I'm starting from.

If you want to check out the video of this construction, you can find it here:

As always... Until next time, Happy Gaming!

It's pretty cool your build bro, the fact that you created a video to show the process in real time makes it more entertaining.

Mu liked your post and the builds it has in your Minecraft world, keep it up.

Thanks so much! I'm super glad to hear you enjoyed it!

That's a really awesome house/castle. The village is coming along nicely!

Thanks buddy! I think it's definitely getting there... Next up might be to automate the collection of dripstone... as I think a future build is going to require a little bit. (A lot? Maybe a lot.)

Dear @oblivioncubed, we need your help!

The Hivebuzz proposal already got important support from the community. However, it lost its funding a few days ago and only needs a few more HP to get funded again.

May we ask you to support it so our team can continue its work this year?
You can do it on Peakd, ecency,
