Survival games are amazing, they are probably the games that entertain me the most compared to other genres. For some reason, being out in the open is very exciting and the need to be safe becomes an incomparable feeling. Survival games provide that dose of fear and excitement that many games lack. Obviously I'm not saying that games that aren't in the survival genre are crap, I just prefer survival games to anything else.
A few months ago, I think exactly 3 months ago, I was bored and was interested in playing something co-op with a buddy. We didn't have anything in mind and with the internet connection I have, I needed some decent game that didn't exceed 1gb in weight, so I could avoid spending all night downloading it and play it right away.
I did a search and was able to find a game that I had no idea of its existence, but it weighed less than 1gb and had very good reviews. So I downloaded it without blinking an eye. My friend only had to click on it and in a second he had already downloaded it (things of people who live in another country).
The truth is that it was quite easy to connect in multiplayer mode, I expected more problems, even latency, but everything flowed perfectly.
Everything starts in the desert sea. We found ourselves on a raft or at least on the remains of a raft, passed out. I do not know the reason or how we got there, but that is what gives the game a touch of mystery.

Our raft ends up landing on an island as lonely as the sea itself. Something that surprised me at first is that I didn't see my partner anywhere. I thought we were in different games, but no. Each player appears in different parts of the map. Each player appears in different parts of the map. In each game there can be 4 players at the same time, so there must be 4 different zones of appearance.
After a couple of minutes, we were excitedly shouting "Here buddy, I'm here!", running around in circles like crazy with our avatar as we finally found each other. Our mission was to understand the game and learn the core mechanics of the game.
At first glance the game looks wonderful. I must admit that the graphics the game has are simple, but they are very nice. It seems to be a mix of 2d art with a fairly light 3d, without being too flashy, or at least that's what it looks like to me. The point is, it's a game that looks amazing with an art section of 10. You might think I'm exaggerating, but no, the game really grabbed my attention at the first minute. The sea animations take all the credit, it's exquisite, simple but exquisite. The animations every time it gets dark, dusk and dawn are no slouch either.

The customization in this game is something curious. We do not customize the appearance of our character before starting the game, but after we are playing. This section is also quite simple, although there are many types of hairstyles and mustaches, besides being able to choose any color we want to wear.

Beyond everything, it is a game very similar to Minecraft, only 2d and it is not a square world. We will be able to build tools, which will give us experience and increase the possibilities of creation. Although the game is just under 1gb in size, the game has a lot of content, creation branches that seem to have no limits (obviously it does), dungeons of all kinds and levels, has a fairly extensive map and much more.

In this game I still have a lot to learn and explore. Also, if you feel alone and don't have a companion to play with, there is the possibility of having many monkeys, which help you in your adventure, basically you train them and they help you in the collection of materials, they follow you, they act as bait and well, they make the individual game experience not so lonely.

Sometimes I think that I have played almost every game out there, except for the new generation ones, but no, I am very wrong. There are games out there today that are complete gems and they are hidden away, best of all, almost any PC can run them. Without further ado, I'll leave this post until here. See you my boomers!

Los juegos survival son increíbles, probablemente sean los juegos que más me entretienen a comparación de otros géneros. Por alguna razón, el estar en la intemperie es muy emocionante y la necesidad de estar seguro se convierte en un sentimiento incomparable. Los juegos survival proveen esa dosis de miedo y emoción que muchos juegos carecen. Obviamente no estoy diciendo que los juegos que no sean del género survival sean una basura, simplemente prefiero a los survival que cualquier otro.
Hace unos meses, creo que exactamente 3 meses atrás, me encontraba aburrido y me interesaba jugar algo cooperativo con un compañero. No teníamos nada en mente y con la conexión de internet que poseo, necesitaba algún juego decente que no sobrepasase los 1gb de peso, para así evitar pasar toda la noche descargándolo y poder jugar de inmediato.
Hice una búsqueda y pude encontrar un juego del que no tenía ni idea de su existencia, pero pesaba menos de 1gb y tenía muy buenas críticas. Así que lo descargué sin pestañear. Mi amigo solo tuvo que dar un click y en un segundo ya lo había descargado(cosas de personas que viven en otro país).
La verdad es que fue bastante sencillo conectarnos en el modo multijugador, esperaba más problemas, incluso latencia, pero todo fluyó perfectamente.
Todo inicia el desértico mar. Nos encontramos en una balsa o al menos en los restos de una balsa, desmayados. No sé la razón ni el cómo llegamos hasta allí, pero eso es lo que le da el toque de misterio al juego.

Nuestra balsa termina arribando en una isla solitaria como el mismo mar. Algo que me sorprendió a primeras es que no veía a mi compañero por ninguna parte. Creí que estábamos en partidas distintas, pero no. Cada jugador aparece en distintas partes del mapa. En cada partida pueden haber 4 jugadores simultáneamente, por lo que deben de existir 4 zonas de aparición distintas.
Después de un par de minutos, estábamos emocionados gritando "¡Aquí amigo, estoy aquí!", dando vueltas en círculos como locos con nuestro avatar al encontrarnos por fin. Nuestra misión era comprender el juego y aprender las mecánicas principales de este.
A simple vista el juego luce maravilloso. Debo de admitir que los gráficos que el juego tiene son simples, pero son muy bonitos. Parece ser una mezcla de arte 2d con un 3d bastante ligero, sin ser demasiado llamativo, o al menos es lo que a mi me parece. El punto es que es un juego que luce increíble con un apartado artístico de 10. Tal vez pienses que exagero, pero no, el juego realmente captó mi atención al primer minuto. Las animaciones del mar se llevan todo el crédito, es exquisito, simple pero exquisito. Las animaciones cada vez que atardece, anochece y amanece tampoco se quedan atrás.

Quiero aclarar que las capturas de pantalla que he añadido son de un gameplay actual. Hace unos meses al descubrir este juego, no pensaba en dedicarle un post, así que no podrán apreciar el avatar de mi compañero ni los avances de nuestra aventura.

La personalización en este juego es algo curiosa. No personalizamos el aspecto de nuestro personaje antes de empezar el juego, sino después de que estamos jugando. Este apartado también es bastante sencillo, aunque existen bastantes tipos de peinados y bigotes, además de poder elegir cualquier color que queramos lucir.

Más allá de todo, es un juego muy parecido a Minecraft, solo que 2d y nos es un mundo cuadrado. Podremos construir herramientas, lo que nos dará experiencia y aumentarán las posibilidades de creación. A pesar de que el juego apenas tiene un tamaño menor al de 1gb, el juego posee mucho contenido, ramas de creación que parecen no tener límites(obviamente lo tiene), mazmorras de todo tipo y niveles, dispone de un mapa bastante extenso y mucho más.

En este juego me falta mucho por aprender y explorar. Además, si te sientes solo y no dispones de algún compañero para jugar, existe la posibilidad de tener muchos monos, los cuales te ayudan en tu aventura, básicamente los adiestras y te ayudan en la recolección de materiales, te siguen, hacen de carnada y bueno, hacen que la experiencia de juego individual no sea tan solitaria.

A veces pienso que he jugado casi todos los juegos por haber, exceptuando los de la nueva generación, pero no, estoy muy equivocado. Actualmente existen juegos que son una completa joya y están escondidos, lo mejor de todo es que casi cualquier PC puede correrlos. Sin más, dejaré este post hasta aquí. Nos vemos mis boomers!

This looks great. I’ve seen it several times but skipped it just as many times. Probably because I’ve played so many survival games in the past that I’ve had it. I’ve been curious about the Escapists from the same developers as well. That looks cool.
