An effort to RETURN home

The plot of Child of Light takes us to the skin of Aurora; A young princess who, after dying of a strange disease, awakens in the magical world of Lemuria — A place that struggles between light and darkness.

Conscious of her situation, Aurora decides to do everything possible to return home and save her dying father from sadness, and must do so by defeating, with the help of her friend Igniculus (a flash of light) the evil dark queen — That feeds on the chaos and pain of the inhabitants of this wonderful ghostly kingdom.

The desire to recover loved ones, the inexorable effort to return home, the power of friendship, are some of the themes that this game addresses (with a simple but consistent plot). — Using dialogues that rhyme with each other to highlight the character's poetic character. job.

A classic TBS mode

Child of Light, like most side-scrolling platform games, is an adventure that takes place in a two-dimensional landscape. In the kingdom of Lemuria, Aurora has the ability to fly and the strength to fight, in a classic turn-based strategy (TBS) mode, against horrible and unattractive underworld monsters — that are nothing more than the materialization of her own fears. .

When encountering an opponent, the player has the possibility to decide whether to fight or flee. In case of fighting, you can control up to two allies in battle, each with special powers (physical or magical). — Each skill has an estimated time of speed and retraction...

In addition to the fights, with the right stick, the player will be able to control the character of Igniculus: the indefatigable traveling companion, useful to reach the most inaccessible corners of the stage and solve puzzles of simple execution — a resource that adds a slight sense of variety to the title.

In general, Child of Light is a video game that, hidden under a simple appearance, has an increasing and tight difficulty — full of emotional nuances.

A magical AUDIOVISUAL section

Inspired by the artistic style of Yoshitaka Amano (designer of Final Fantasy), Child of Light has the appearance of a fairy tale: with hand-drawn characters, colorful compositions and locations...

To create the world of Aurora, the UbiArt Framework engine (the same used throughout the Rayman franchise) was used; which once again turned out to be the right one to develop the most outstanding artistic sections of recent years — with a speed of 60 fps and compatibility with all platforms...

As for its soundtrack, the entire auditory portent was orchestrated by Cœur de pirate — giving the player beautiful melodies composed on a piano accompanied by a cello and a violin.

Sounds that serve as indications in a tragically melancholic poetic work...
