My participation in the HiveGamingCommunity Drawing Contest: Drawing Super Mario Bros.

Hi hiveros how are you, I hope very well, a special greeting to the whole community of #HiveGaming, I'm here today thanks to the recommendation of a couple of people who told me about this wonderful initiative in which we must choose a character from a video game that we like or that we liked and illustrate it in our own style, of the few video games I have come to enjoy undoubtedly Super Mario Bross is the one I liked the most and the one I have enjoyed the most over the years, I played it on nintendo 64, nintendo DS and even today I play it from my pc with an emulator, I chose to draw Mario because I think it is the game that most represents me and here in this post I want to share my entry, I hope you like it a lot, also here below I leave the post of the contest:

Step 1 Sketch

First of all I made many many lines to go contracting my drawing, for this I looked for a reference image to guide me a little and do well in the small details that I could miss, which was good hehehehehehe because after doing it I realized that I was missing the detail of the letter M in the cap and the buttons of the panties hehehehehehe, so I draw it after I realized.

Step 2 The colours

With the colors I was a little late, I wanted to use good colors for my drawing so that it would look colorful and cheerful, I applied color to each of the layers starting with the skin, then the hair, the panties and so I continued with everything else.

Step 3 Special details

After having all the colors perfectly applied and having corrected the imperfections of badly painted edges and things like that, then I continued with the application of details to the drawing, I did this with the intention of making Mario look a little more voluminous and alive, I did this by mixing colors and using special brushes which have diffuse and irregular edges, I gave details to the whole character, I also gave details to the mushroom and the star in Mario's hands and for this I used watercolor brushes which gave them a different touch of painting.

Step 4 The shadows

I decided to add one last detail to this work, and it occurred to me to paint a tunnel in front like the tunnels in the Mario game, and to paint it I also used the watercolor brush, finally I painted some shadows to make the character look a little more detailed, I also wanted to add lights to give even more life to my drawing, for this I created two new layers, one of multiplication for the shadows and other of brightness for the lights.

USED TOOLS

For this drawing I used the program krita for pc, the mouse of my desktop computer, and obviously my LG desktop computer

Thanks to everyone who came here and took the time to see my drawing, this contest took me by surprise, especially because it ends in a few hours and I found out just yesterday, but I tried to do the best I could and giving the highest level of detail to everything, I love this kind of contests because they encourage and challenge me to challenge my imagination, I hope you loved my entry, I made it with love for this challenge, both for the challenge and for all the people who see it and feel identified with this wonderful character of childhood video games, I send you a big hug community and see you later.
