Little garden with my grandchildren

in HiveGarden11 months ago

My relatives and their families are on summer vacation in Da Lat city, which is considered the coolest city at the moment when the local heat takes place in many places. They are aunts, uncles and aunts close to my family and the other day I took them to pick oranges on a friend's hill. Everyone was very happy, and today I invited the five grandchildren from that family group to visit my garden. My main goal is to get the kids out into the garden to play around and harvest some vegetables to prepare for lunch for about 16 people. At first they seemed excited because they thought there would be a lot of edible fruit in the garden, but I also didn't want to lie to them because it actually consisted of vegetables and spices. The fruits that can be eaten directly are few or unripe. But I still promise there will be a lot of fun out there, anyway, they still have the happy echo of the orange picking trip the day before so it's still very exciting.

Since the way to my garden is always cool under the pine trees, it doesn't make them uncomfortable for them to walk for a while because it is also quite sunny. Why don't I harvest vegetables early in the morning when it's still cool? Because these children are too sleepy, Dalat mornings are often cold and foggy, so immersing them in the soft mattress cannot pull them up first, but I promised to wait for them to harvest so I had to wait. These VIP guests only. I have a large plastic basket and several smaller baskets for each child. But only three children were interested in harvesting vegetables. The other two children were busy walking around the garden looking for fruit and laughing. I couldn't keep up with them and just let them go.

Seeing the children working like a farmer and playing like an innocent child makes me very happy because the natural garden is more bustling with sounds. The sound of birds, insects in the garden and the laughter of children are as pure and peaceful as a medicine.

I instruct them on some plants to harvest for lunch and pick them properly. But a naughty kid pulling a bunch of roots out in a basket like this really makes me laugh out loud with that mischief.

Some types for lunch include roman, kale, lolo lettuce, tomatoes, and chayote. Mature plants are running low and I leave them to harvest, I go check out some vegetables that are adding to the upcoming harvest, to follow right after the current crop. They grow quite well and many snails eat leaves. However, it is a good sign for healthy seedlings.

I also prepared some dry ingredients in advance for them to try making a salad at the garden, but only one kid was interested and joined in. All materials from the garden are used for elaborate decoration. This baby has an eye-catching mix of colors with some sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, dry bread, and cheese. I use black sesame sauce to mix them together, mild sour taste, scent suitable even for children. Let's see the results.

I also check out abalone mushroom growers to pick some mushrooms, some vegetarian dishes along with tofu for those who are vegetarian and want to eat protein-free food. Unfortunately there are only a few harvestable clusters left, but that should be enough. Maybe I will prepare to replace the new mushroom embryos as they gradually yield less than before.

In addition to my garden, there are some ornamental plants and succulents that are quite beautiful, they are brilliant in the sun and I also took advantage of taking some interesting pictures. We invite you to have a look.

Vâng tôi và chú của mình đã nỗ lực làm việc nhiều tháng để cải tạo và xây dựng khu vườn này. Thật vui vì chúng giờ đủ hấp dẫn bất cứ ai.
Cảm ơn @missjoycee

wao I am very crazy about the lettuce @crazy-bee

Yes, I also grow lettuce the most due to the high demand, diversifying it for both green and purple. A quick salad at the garden with people who love them.
Thank you @maytom
