Bro I haven't done that in forever, I don't even know how it work.

Mic check: "Toc toc toc, you can hear me ok?"

Welcome to my monthly post, it took me all the motivation in the world to gather my thoughts, my pretty pictures, and muster my courage to start transfering pictures on dinausor laptop, Ha! which remind to let you know that I'll get a new laptop soon, it was apparently the processor, yeepee.
Anyway where was I? Oh yeah, muster my courage to finally write a post about my garden.

I spent the entire month of July taking pics for my IG (that means Inner Growth)
We still have eyes on Spain for September, in the meantime I am making sure the food is growing, the herb is herbing, and the flower flowering.

IMG_20220620_125343.jpg
Oh man, it's in my garden, but I forgot the story about this flower. @rubido brought that plant a few years back, before we even moved in, so I guess we should ask him what's up. I remember it's a crazy story, and you can also eat the fruit, smoke the flower, all that. How trippy is the pistil?

IMG_20220709_111127.jpg

So the courgette/marrow above, is from our neighbor, thank you very much, and the spinash looking thing below is called chard, I did a quiche with feta with it, I made a picture but the kitchen is dirty, and there's no way I am showing you my filth right now.

IMG_20220709_110221.jpg

I actually roasted the stems seperately, and boiled the leaves. Cool beans....Let's move on!

VID_20220711_205217_HSR_12029094810.gif

Oh yeah speaking of beans, I planted some bush beans, which now are looking good, with the dripping system going at first, now I water the trench once a day, we're experiencing the hottest temperature recorded in 40 years or something like that, you know how much I trust the radio these days, but nonetheless, I try to water as little as I can as there is already restrictions.

You're thinking, "did that mofo just did a slow motion on that mother flipping gif?"
Yes he did, son, yes he did.

IMG_20220714_102117.jpg

This was me showing you various vegetables, I am not going to show you everything, because it's a lot of veggies, but we got pumpkins for days, maybe too many butternuts, too many potatoes, pickles the size of cucumbers, too many radishes and everyone hate my radishes.
You want some radishes bro? They're very peppery.

IMG_20220731_011423.jpg
We got some Ed dangling

VID_20220713_214015.gif

We got them watermelons of course, I mean come on bro...Toc toc toc...Sounds ready to go...

IMG_20220803_002006.jpg
I found some Datura just doing its thing in the garden, for those that aren't familiar with it, it's a highly poisonous plant, that I had to pull out as it's not super safe for kids, the flower is so pretty though! Back in our days, my friends were boiling the plant and trip balls for an entire week.
I remember hosting "friends" for an afternoon tea party, and they brought a concoction made of datura boiled for hours. They knew what they were doing, some people actually use it as medecine, but you really need to know you dosage, and the plant in general. It's also called the devil's weed, moonflower, devil's trumpets, thornapples, and jimsonweeds.
The fruits that the plant produces, are like spiky balls (ouch), the seeds are also known to be psychoactive, such a pretty plant, but very dangerous, like most pretty things.

Let's move on!!!

IMG_20220803_001907.jpg

IMG_20220803_001840.jpg

This year, I've almost only grown cherry tomatoes, because they are the only ones that the kids are ok to eat. So it's cherry tomatoes on everything, with mozarella, feta, in a quiche, salad, I am trying to get the whole crew to stay healthy, but to be honest, with the heat, everyone is just losing so much weight!
Everyday, I pick some fresh ones, so sweet and just perfect on everything. Oh I even made a sort of a roasted aubergine and cherry tomatoes on toast recipe the other day, it was diiiviiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine.

Now let's take a break from the living, thriving garden to check on the chicken for a minute:

VID_20220717_175720 (1).gif

They still don't have names, it's better this way. I don't understand why, but the dogs just stop attempting to eat them, and they all seem to live in harmony. Maybe it's just too darn hot to even try to hunt 😅 They're getting cocky though, shiting on my front porch.

They seem to stay alive for now, good on them.

Oh I almost forgot, I know it's not always healthy to compare courgette sizes, but here is the one I am growing this year, compared the neighbor's. Once again, size don't matter, unless mine is bigger, and then it matters very much.
I'll show you all my courgettes next time, promised.

perspective trick used in the industry

IMG_20220720_105946.jpg

Oh yeah , my first pumpkin of the year, yeepee! You wanna see my plant? Ok maybe that's good to finish on a high note. There were supposed to plenty of other stuffs, but it's 2am now, and too much of a good thing, can be deadly, like that Datura plant.

Next time I'll show you my figs, my nuts, they'll will probably be all dried up by this weather...Giggity...

Ah, ending on potatoes - if you know, you know, right?

Sorrrrry I took so long to comment, did the voting and got carried away with my own garden.

Tahnks for posting, enjoyed this muchly, and the humour as always. Certainly lots growing on!

I have a funny story about datura, lucky it happened to my bestie and not me. Too hard to relate here and probably not right to do so, save to say, don't bloody consume the stuff kids.

What's your favourite vegetable, if you were to choose?

Ah, ending on potatoes - if you know, you know, right?

Hahaha it's about to be potato galore once again.

Please tell me more about your datura story on discord, they're always funny ones.

If I were to chose a vegetable, I would probably pick sweet potatoes, just because it feels lies an improved potato. Second best has to be cherry tomato, and then cucumber. Rest assured we always have those 2 in the fridge.

Sweet potato a little less because it's expensive here in France, whereas super cheap in SA. (I am sure every time you think South Australia 🤣)

And you ?

Sweet potatoes as an improved potato... Indeed!!

I really love eggplant. Roast and put on top of a laksa, or baba ghanoush, eggplant parmigiana, fried and tossed in a mix of honey, soy and chilli sauce... Drool.

Then it'd be .. hmmm.... Yellow beans in the summer, lightly steamed and tossed with fetta and red onions and vinegar ..

And I couldn't live without garlic, as it's so darn useful...

I could go on!

Yeah ok if I had to choose, it would be garlic. Just because it makes everything better.

I could eat cherry tomatoes and feta all day. That, some Datura tea and a side of Drum n Bass are a good 1-2-3 punch if I remember correctly but don't quote me, the sequence is blurry.

How about cherry tomato & feta tart?

Potatoes!!!

You know it!!!

Wow, so much abundance but I understand the heat must be a challenge.

I might actually post about my mom's garden, even though that feels like cheating haha.

You are very funny

I spent the entire month of July taking pics for my IG (that means Inner Growth)

Once again, size don't matter, unless mine is bigger, and then it matters very much.

Thanks for making me laugh 🙂

You shouldn't have said it was your mum's garden and roll with it! You could have invented a story, about how you inherited this garden from a stranger, that died right in front of your porch, handling you a shovel and with his dying breath he said: "You gotta dig now".

He was talking about his potatoes, but you took it literally and dug a grave for him instead.

The End

Hahaha, I'm way too honest. Wouldn't even cross my mind to make up something 🙂

That's what the best liars say 😂😎😉

"Garden Comic"

Loving the abundance you have growing there.
I love passion flowers and of course passion fruit, the flowers are so beautiful. you need to start preserving now xxxxxx

Oh yeah, I am going to bring you some marrows, and potatoes if you're interested. I have to repair my car's suspension because we're comin heavy 😁

I have to also harvest figs and sundry them!

Would you look who's back!!!! I was wondering where you were gone man, great to hear from you, I guess life is too busy on the farm this time of the year and you have to concentrate on that more, makes sense. I hope you and the family are keeping well and the place looks great in your photos above. I can smell those delicious vine tomatoes through the screen from that photo.... Mmmmmm...

Hey brother!!! Good to see you around!!! Look who's killing it on Hive, I only hear good things about you 😉

Yeah dude, and also I don't have a pc currently, so it's been tough to even post, I have an old one, but it makes the whole experience so slow and tideous I've been avoiding even touching it right now.

Thanks for the compliment my friend, I hope you and your beautiful family are enjoying the summer! Stay hydrated ^^

Look who's killing it on Hive, I only hear good things about you 😉

Thanks man, I'll have to buy some new hats, all these compliments and my noggin is sure to start expanding! 🤣🤣

also I don't have a pc currently, so it's been tough to even post

Ah shite man, that sucks... definitely easier to post from a PC or laptop, although I do a lot from my phone too and find it a great way to utilise dead time, when waiting to collect someone or something or while sitting in hospital waiting room for example

I got a another pc finally! I don't know if I am going to be as active as we are preparing to travel soon, but I'll surely come check out what's happening!

when waiting to collect someone or something or while sitting in hospital waiting room for example

That's the thing, I realize if I do that, then I don't have a moment for myself anymore! You know how it is as a father and husband.

That's the thing, I realize if I do that, then I don't have a moment for myself anymore! You know how it is as a father and husband.

Good point well made brother, I think once I make it to 10k HP, I might ease of a bit and try get some of my time back, as these days the days are blending into each other as work is seriously hectic too. One thing I've found though, is that I watch far less telly which is a good thing.

Oh and well wear on the new PC, happy days. That'll be handy for when ya do want to post.

You have a great blessing, my friend, I had not read you for some time and I see that your land is no longer so arid, but rather greener, you have had a lot of work, how wonderful to enjoy being able to eat natural fruits, planted with our own hands.
A hug for you and your beautiful family.
Good vibes.

Hello! Yes! We didn't have much water, but we still are trying to manage watering early and later at night! Nothing like eating our own veggies for sure!
Big hug to you too, a great surprise to see you here!

Wow. The garden is looking amazing, you are looking...err well, and nice farmers hands there my friend, not sure how you're going to play guitar now but no doubt you'll manage!

Always a great post fella, thank you.

Best wishes to you and your family mate, keep enjoying your summer :-)

Hey there!!!

The garden is looking amazing, you are looking...err well

Excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me sir? I went to the city yesterday, and people looked at me sideways, it does explain a lot 😅

Well, funny thing is I already have calices built up on my hands, because I like to do chin up pullups on corners, I'll show you one day because that sounds weird now that I am saying it. People use pull up bars, I use corners.
Anyway the fingers from my left hand already have a thick layer of skin from the continuous pressure on the string.

Best wishes to you too brothaaaa!

Chin ups on corners? Whatever will you kids think of next? I can't even pull myself up off the floor lol

I await the corner chin ups with earnest anticipation :-)

Now that is impressive and you can also sneak a peek at what's going on upstairs without making the stairs creak!

It's probably by far, the funniest thing I've heard today, and it's 6pm now, I can safely say that you won the joke of life. If it was not intended to be funny, then forget about what I just said. 😂

As its only 6pm there, watch that bastard @dandays pop along and steal the pride right out of my chest as I sleep!

Charles Ingalls, I had to look that up. Little House on the Prairie, Michael Landon.
So you think you're a movie star,😁 or just a dude living off of the land.

I'd have to pull my hair out if I had to deal with a computer that acted sketchy, Oh ya I don't have any hair at least on my head.

That Devil's weed looks dangerous, just straight up weed for me.

It's good to hear that Spain is still in your plans.

Cool Selfie, it looks like you're getting ready to do a triple back flip off of the parallel bars.

Garden on my friend

One more thing before I sign off, are those potatoes still from last year's harvest?

So you think you're a movie star,😁 or just a dude living off of the land.

Hahahah this made me laugh off so much. Can I be both?

I am actually learning how to live without a computer for now, I believe that everything happen for a reason.

Cool Selfie, it looks like you're getting ready to do a triple back flip off of the parallel bars.

Challenge accepted. (comes back with a broken back)

One more thing before I sign off, are those potatoes still from last year's harvest?

Nope from this year, young ones. I am supposed to harvest any days now. What's your harvesting schedulle like on your part of the world?

I think you are doing both plus a lot of other things, you wear many hats.

No broken back please, how the heck would you harvest the tons of potatoes you will undoubtfully find below the surface of the ground.

I would imagine that the majority of our crops still have a way to go. We have been harvesting lots of cucumbers, some tomatoes, garlic, yellow and green squash, and a few heads of cabbage. It should be interesting to dig up the potatoes. They seem to not have done as well as the past few years, but we will see.

No broken back please, how the heck would you harvest the tons of potatoes you will undoubtfully find below the surface of the ground.

So...I have a little secret. I am trying to convince the neighbor to use his tractor. I've been super nice with him, brought some tomatoes the other day.
I think they like wine, of course they do hahah. So a bottle of (good) wine for 30 minutes of tractor, it's a great deal.

They seem to not have done as well as the past few years, but we will see.

My plants died this year, but the potatoes are still there, dormants. Not enough water this year, it's been tough. Still we will have more than enough.

Hey, how have you been? I am not seeing you posting as of late. I love the watermelon and the tomatoes.

Hey man!

Yeah, it's been slow on the posting since my pc broke 😂

Thanks for the watermelon compliment, I am a little bit embarassed by their size, now I understand what girls feel.

You're welcome. You made me smile about what girls feel, hahaha! Anyway, I am glad that you are now back.

Nice update man. Humorus as always. I forgot that you were thinking about going to Spain, I thought the plan was to go back to Africa.

Cool flower photo with the bug in it. The colors are so vivid.

Datura - interesting. Makes me think of Carlos Casteneda's books.

Hello brother!
Long time!! Yea yeah we still planning on doing Africa, but we gonna do Spain first, starting the 1st next month.

Yeah I love the flower too, I forgot its name, it has a religious christian name if I am not mistaken.

I gotta check out Carlos Castenada books, it will take me a second just...To...Open a taaaaab...

(didn't do it)

The garden looks great @edprivat 😊 beautiful to see it all thriving.
Going to Spain, to visit or live?
Enjoy your Wednesday

Hello @littlebee4 how are you doing today?

Yes, the sun has done its job!

Going to Spain, to visit or live?

We going for 3 months, but I dunno...Who knows 😌

Enjoy your Thursday!!!

Hello @edprivat 👋🏻😊
Just getting over a flu/ bad cold… almost back up and running again.

3 months is a great time, are you traveling around? Or staying in a specific area.
Funny you are coming this way and we are planning a 2 week holiday in New England around that time. To explore some areas.
But first we move (unplanned) to another place end of the month beginning of September. So will have to pack up again 📦📦📦

Thank you so much, enjoy your Thursday too.

Jjja hombre, amas tu huerto!

—you insulted me? you did it?!!

Hahaha and then get into a fight 😁
