Hello Gardeners
How are you today ? I hope and pray that all of us will always be given health and happiness in living this life. I am also very happy, finally given the time and opportunity to be able to participate and contribute to the HiveGarden Community. As usual, I will share gardening activities in my hydroponic garden. What are my activities this week? keep watching my post this time.

This Week's Hydroponic Garden Conditions
This week, I do various activities in my hydroponic garden. First, I harvest the lettuce I grow in my hydroponic garden. In my weekly hydroponic journal last week, I talked about the condition of the lettuce that was big enough and ready to be harvested.

The lettuce that I harvested this time is very beautiful and very fresh. I got about 15 kilograms of lettuce this growing season. Coincidentally, during this period the price of salads was also very good.

After the process of harvesting this lettuce, the condition of my hydroponic garden looks empty. After that, I started the process of sowing the lettuce seeds. Last week, I told you about a new brand of lettuce seeds. I also seeded about 400 lettuce seeds.

The lettuce seeds that I sowed grew very well. I think, buying new lettuce seeds is not in vain. Although lettuce seeds are expensive, they grow up to 95%. I feel very happy, especially according to the reviews from other hydroponic farmers. The lettuce seeds that I plant can weigh around 100 grams for 1 pot.

Apart from lettuce, I also harvest kangkong in my hydroponic garden. I did not get optimal yields during this planting period. I thought, the growth of kangkong was not optimal because I didn't do the right treatment.

I also started the process of planting kangkong again. I bought new kangkong seeds and did the seeding. Before sowing the kangkong seeds, I soaked the kangkong seeds which will be used to see the condition of the seeds. If the kangkong seeds are of low quality, then the seeds will float. Good quality kangkong seeds will sink in water.

Bad Quality Kangkong Seeds

After soaking for one night, it turned out that a lot of the kangkong seeds that I bought were of poor quality. Nearly 30% of the seeds that I soaked in water turned out to be floating and could not be planted. Next, I transferred the remaining good quality kangkong seeds to my seedling medium. We will see the growing conditions of this kangkong seed in the next week.

Condition of Pakcoy in My Hydroponic Garden
So, currently there are only two vegetables or plants that I grow in my hydroponic garden. First, in my hydroponic garden I still have pakcoy. I planted about 400 pots of pakcoy during this planting period. When I took the picture, the pakcoy I planted was about 17 days old after sowing.

Seeing the growing conditions of this pakcoy, this vegetable actually grows well and optimally. We didn't find any symptoms of vegetables that were experiencing a shortage, these pakcoy seeds were well cared for and grew according to our expectations.

However, the rat problem still haunts my hydroponic garden. It's been almost two months, I've been fighting rats. I have tried all kinds of rat poison, both chemical and vegetable. I also take care of two cats as natural predators for rats but the rat attacks continue to damage the pakcoya that I plant.

One of my colleagues gave me an idea about pest control for rats. My friend works in a motorcycle repair shop, and also has a problem with rats. At the motorcycle repair shop, they installed some wire brushes in areas rats frequented and it was found to be effective. I'm also going to try that and will buy the wire first.

Mint Leaves Condition in My Hydroponic Garden
Finally, I invite my friends to see the condition of the mint leaves that I plant in my hydroponic garden. I planted about 220 pots of mint in various models of PVC hydroponic installations.

At the front of my hydroponic garden, you will see two models of PVC hydroponic installations, the conditions for the mint leaves planted in this area also look very good and optimal. I also do regular harvesting and get almost about 250 grams of mint leaves in the hydroponic installation.

Apart from that, I also have a hydroponic installation that I installed on the wall of my house. The conditions for mint leaves grow well and optimally. Mint is a plant that doesn't need too much sun, and it fits perfectly around the walls of my hydroponic installation.

Okay, that's all the story in my hydroponic garden this time. See you next week.

Hello

Nice layout for the garden. I like that you use different systems and specialized in high yield crops.

I have been using aqua/hydroponics for about 12 years. Even developed my own vertical grow system.

Will be following your progress!

hello @crazycowboy thank you for stopping by and I'm so glad you stopped by my blog.

12 years old ? I think that's very cool, I'm sure you are very experienced with this hydroponic system. In Indonesia, the concept of hydroponics was only popular about 6-7 years ago. Even today, there are still many people who think and are surprised to see that plants can be grown in water.

Whoa that lettuce is gorgeous!! Your garden is producing so well. I loved seeing those mint leaves at the end too. We just planted spearmint so I’m curious to see how that goes.

I hope you find a solution for your rat problem. You’ll have to tell us if the wiring works.

Nice post and beautiful plants! 😊

thank you for stopping by @crosheille
You grow spearmint too? I think it's a good choice, mint leaves are very easy to care for and growing also has many benefits. You will definitely like it too.

You’re welcome. 😉

Yes. We are growing it for the first time this year and are looking forward to flavoring our teas and water it. I’m excited about the benefits of it as well.
