Plants can flower in odd seasons, if they are eating well

Its hot summer here - eight days back, temperature went to 42°C and as a result schools were closed for five days. It did cool down a bit (because of a low pressure situation), before boiling up again today. Summer is not a very great month for the plants, especially its intense on the roof top. On top of that, the society has been telling us since long time that they will do blanket ban on roof top farming soon. That has been the reason, I have decided not to put a lot of plants in summer. However, I did not stop continuing my journey of preparing the magic fertilizer Jeevamrutha as posted earlier in this post.. The failure rate is more than success, but even the failed yield works to some extent. You can see the effect yourself, have you ever seen a better green color than this ? Look at these mint leaves - I know you cannot taste, but the color will tell you how fresh and alive they are. Now look at these flowers - they are supposed to come only in Winter.

I water these plants twice in a day now, and whenever someone meets me there, asks what am I feeding to these plants !! Its all experiment, and I am really surprised to see these flowers coming up now, which makes me believe that, its possible to grow them all year, if we have the right food for them. And now look at the Chrysanthemums, ever seen them flower in summer, in such high temperature ?

Looking at them, I cannot let them die, only because ideally they should not be flowering now. Instead, I am just feeding them what I am experimenting.

Succeeded two times only, and failed eight times - but I am not giving up. I need a count of 10/10 to make sure, we have mastered the technique, and in this process I am learning. As told in my previous post, the man whom I have been motivating every week end ( going to his house is my regular schedule in the week end), has lost interest ( even though he does not tell upfront, I can feel). He feels, its waste of time and energy. I have tried to show all these photos, and asked to start putting some plants himself and apply it and see the result, but he does not seem to be convinced. I even bought him a new bucket, coco pit, and other stuffs spending few hundred rupees, but I don't feel he has the same level of interest as I. So I am exploring some other ways to get some fresh cow dung and urine - the main ingredients. So far from our research, we have concluded, those cows who eat grass (their natural food) are the best fit, and since his cows are only relying on dry feeds, its not helping us the way it should have been. Also if they are on some kind of antibiotics , or medicine, then the cow dung may not have enough bacteria. Learning never ends.

Before winding up this update, I would like to show you few more lovely greens. Here comes the curry leaves plant. The small one, that was planted is catching up.

The aloe vera are showing some signs to get new kids. I am not feeding them this high calorie food, because I know, I cannot control them if I do so. So leaving them to have restricted growth as I am not eating them now.

The basil (Tulsi) grew like fast forward and now full of seeds.

And here is the overall view now - not many, but still I cannot let them die, unless I am absolutely forced. In fact I planted some new all season marigold buds yesterday from the dying plants, if at all they forget to tell me remove everything. Hope is something that never dies. More about them when they grow, in my next journal.
