Yesterday, I published a post in which I evaluated and analyzed the various purchase cases of a Chaos Legion pack.
Based on my calculations and evaluations, I decided to buy 164 Chaos Legion packs from Hive Engine.

After publishing yesterday's post I received several questions regarding whether or not to buy a Chaos Legion pack, and today I decided to write this post to answer the questions I received and to show the calculations that convinced me to buy and open 164 Chaos Legion packs.

I have been a Splinterlands player for almost four years and the strategy I have often followed to buy Splinterlands card packs is as follows:

I only buy a pack of cards if the estimated value is greater than the purchase cost.

This is exactly why I bought 164 Chaos Legion packs from Hive Engine yesterday, and it is for the same reason that I decided to open all the packs I purchased.

Today December 5, 2022 a pack of Chaos Legion cards has:

• an estimated value of $1.73
• a purchase cost on Hive Engine of $1.49.

This means that if I buy a Chaos Legion pack on Hive Engine and open it using both Alchemical and Legendary potions I should obtain an expected (estimated)profit of +$0.24.

If I don't have alchemical or legendary potions I have to buy them first because opening a card pack of any edition without potions is always a bad choice because the estimated value decreases by more than the cost of the potions.

Based on Splintercards site calculations the estimated value of an open Chaos Legion pack without potions is $1,272.

This means that if I buy a pack from Hive Engine and open it without the potions I will have a negative expected (estimated) profit: -$0.218

If I do not have potions I have to buy 5 legendary potions (40 DEC X 5) and 5 alchemical potions (50 DEC X 5) whose cost is 0.3348$ (1000 DEC = 0.744$).

As you can see from the calculations in the following image even with the purchase of potions the expected profit is a negative value but it is significantly less than in the case of opening a Chaos Legion pack without potions.

I chose to buy 164 Chaos Legion packs because I accumulated more than 1,000 legendary potions and more than 1,000 alchemical potions by opening the chests and then without buying them.

To purchase 164 Chaos Legion packs I spent a total of 650.6023 SWAP.HIVE (31.4311 + 180.2740 + 218.9000 + 219.9972).

Today December 5, 2022 1 token HIVE has a value of $0.374.
To purchase 164 Chaos Legion packs I spent 243.3253$

What is the estimated profit of my investment?

If I multiply the total number of packs I purchased by the estimated value of a Chaos Legion pack (using both potions) and subtract from this value the total cost I incurred I get an expected (estimated) profit of +$40.39

But beware the estimated profit is not a certain value but is a " tendency" as I explained in the comments of my previous post to @ivanslait, @kyodai94 and @arc7icwolf.
The real profit value will be close to the estimated profit value only on large numbers and then only on the purchase and subsequent opening of at least 500-1000 packs.

For example on the purchase and opening of 1 pack of cards it will always be luck that will play an important role and you can most likely be very lucky or very unlucky with the contents of the opened pack.

In the image below you can see the 5 cards I found in the first of the 164 Chaos Legion packs I opened, cards that have a market value of $1.11.

In the table below you can see how the estimated profit value is far from the real profit because considering only the opening of the first pack I got a loss instead of a profit: -0.38$.

The 164 packs that I bought and opened are a good enough number of packs but they are still a number that is not high enough for me to expect the estimated profit value to be an equal or close to the real profit.

Today together with my 9-year-old daughter I opened all 164 Chaos Legion packs I purchased.

In the following pictures you can see some of the most valuable cards I found.

Thanks to the Analyze Packs tool of the [Peakmonsters] site I don't have to add up one by one the values of the packs I opened because Peakmonsters does this calculation.

The https://monstermarket.io/analyze-openings site also does this calculation.

In the 164 Chaos legion packs I opened, I found 820 cards whose market value is $246,942.

I was not lucky because the real profit is less than the estimated profit but I was also not unlucky because although small I got a profit of +3.61674$.

Therefore, I am still satisfied with the cards I found inside the packs because I was able to level up some Chaos Legion cards that I have long wanted to upgrade.

Now:

• I will sell the cards that are of little use in battle and/or that I have no intention of upgrading
• with the income I will purchase cards that I consider useful in battle.

If even in the coming days the price on Hive Engine of Chaos Legion packs will be at least $0.20 less than the estimated profit I will continue at regular intervals to buy and open more Chaos Legion packs.

To purchase the cards that are my targets for purchase or upgrade I will make purchase bids (Bids) from the Peakmonsters site and in this way I may also be able to increase the small profit I made today from opening the 164 Chaos Legion packs ;)

Chaos Legion Holiday Deals 2022: Casi di Acquisto - Calcoli e Valutazioni

Ieri ho pubblicato un post in cui ho valutato e ho analizzato i vari casi di acquisto di un pacco Chaos Legion.
In base ai miei calcoli e alle mie valutazioni, ho deciso di comprare 164 pacchi Chaos Legion da Hive Engine.

Dopo la pubblicazione del post di ieri ho ricevuto diverse domande relative alla scelta di acquistare o meno un pacco Chaos Legion e oggi ho deciso di scrivere questo post per rispondere alle domande che ho ricevuto e per mostrare i calcoli che mi hanno convinto a comprare e ad aprire 164 pacchi Chaos Legion.

Sono un giocatore di Splinterlands da quasi quattro anni e la strategia che ho spesso seguito per comprare i pacchi di carte di Splinterlands è la seguente:

Acquisto un pacco di carte solo se il valore stimato è maggiore del costo di acquisto.

E' esattamente questo il motivo per cui ieri ho comprato 164 pacchi Chaos Legion da Hive Engine ed è per lo stesso motivo che ho deciso di aprire tutti i pacchi che ho acquistato.

Oggi 5 dicembre 2022 un pacco di carte Chaos Legion ha:

• un valore stimato di 1.73$
• un costo di acquisto su Hive Engine di 1.49$.

Questo vuol dire che se acquisto un pacco Chaos Legion su Hive Engine e lo apro utilizzando entrambe le pozioni Alchemiche e Leggendarie dovrei ottenere un profitto atteso (stimato) di +0.24$.

Se non ho pozioni alchemiche o leggendarie devo prima acquistarle perchè aprire un pacco di carte di qualunque edizione senza pozioni è sempre una scelta sbagliata perchè il valore stimato diminuisce di un valore superiore al costo delle pozioni.

In base ai calcoli del sito Splintercards il valore stimato di un pacco Chaos Legion aperto senza pozioni è di 1.272$.

Questo vuol dire che se acquisto un pacco da Hive Engine e lo apro senza le pozioni avrò un profitto atteso (stimato) negativo: -0.218$

Se non ho le pozioni devo acquistare 5 pozioni leggendarie (40 DEC X 5) e 5 pozioni alchemiche (50 DEC X 5) il cui costo è di 0.3348$ (1000 DEC = 0.744$).

Come puoi vedere dai calcoli nell'immagine seguente anche con l'acquisto delle pozioni il profitto atteso è un valore negativo ma è decisamente minore rispetto la caso di apertura di un pacco Chaos Legion senza pozioni.

Io ho scelto di acquistare 164 pacchi Chaos Legion perchè ho accumulato più di 1000 pozioni leggendarie e più di 1000 pozioni alchemiche aprendo i forzieri e quindi senza acquistarle.

Per acquistare 164 pacchi Chaos Legion ho speso in totale 650.6023 SWAP.HIVE (31.4311 + 180.2740 + 218.9000 + 219.9972).

Oggi 5 dicembre 2022 1 token HIVE ha un valore di 0.374$.
Per acquistare 164 pacchi Chaos Legion ho speso 243.3253$

Qual'è il profitto stimato del mio investimento?

Se moltiplico il totale del pacchi che ho acquistato per il valore stimato di un pacco Chaos Legion (using both potions) e sottraggo a questo valore il costo totale che ho sostenuto ottengo un profitto atteso (stimato) di +40.39$

Ma attenzione il profitto stimato non è un valore certo ma è una "tendenza" come ho spiegato nei commenti del mio precedente post a @ivanslait, @kyodai94 e @arc7icwolf.
Il valore del profitto reale si avvicinerà al valore del profitto stimato solo su grandi numeri e quindi solo sull'acquisto e la successiva apertura di almento 500-1000 pacchi.

Ad esempio sull'acquisto e l'apertura di 1 pacco di carte sarà sempre la fortuna a giocare un ruolo importante e con molta probabilità potrai essere molto fortunato o molto sfortunato con il contenuto del pacco aperto.

Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere le 5 carte che ho trovato nel primo dei 164 pacchi Chaos Legion che ho aperto, carte che hanno un valore di mercato di 1.11$.

Nella tabella seguente puoi vedere come il valore del profitto stimato è lontano dal profitto reale perchè considerando solo l'apertura del primo pacco ho ottenuto una perdita invece di un profitto: -0.38$.

I 164 pacchi che ho acquistato e aperto sono un numero abbastanza alto di pacchi ma sono comunque un numero non sufficientemente alto affinchè io mi possa aspettare che il valore del profitto stimato sia un valore uguale o vicino al profitto reale.

Oggi insieme a mia figlia che ha 9 anni ho aperto tutti i 164 pacchi Chaos Legion che ho acquistato.

Nelle immagini seguenti puoi vedere alcune delle carte di maggior valore che ho trovato.

Grazie al tool Analyze Packs del sito di Peakmonsters non devo sommare uno per uno i valori dei pacchi che ho aperto perchè questo calcolo lo fa Peakmonsters.

Nei 164 pacchi Chaos legion che ho aperto ho trovato 820 carte il cui valore di mercato è 246.942$.

Non sono stato fortunato perchè il profitto reale è inferiore al profitto stimato ma non sono stato neanche sfortunato perchè anche se piccolo ho ottenuto un profitto di +3.61674$.

Sono quindi comunque soddisfatto con le carte che ho trovato all'interno dei pacchi perchè ho potuto aumentare il livello di alcune carte Chaos Legion che volevo da tempo potenziare.

Adesso:

• venderò le carte poco utili in battaglia e/o che non ho intenzione di potenziare
• con il ricavato acquisterò carte che considero utili in battaglia.

Se anche nei prossimi giorni il prezzo su Hive Engine dei pacchi Chaos Legion sarà inferiore di almeno 0.20$ al profitto stimato continuerò ad intervalli regolari di tempo a comprare e ad aprire altri pacchi Chaos Legion.

Per acquistare le carte che sono miei obiettivi di acquisto o upgrade farò offerte di acquisto (Bid) dal sito di Peakmonsters e in questo modo potrei anche riuscire ad aumentare il piccolo profitto che ho ottenuto oggi dall'apertuare dei 164 pacchi Chaos Legion ;)
