Oltre a questo, riferendomi a questa iniziativa Faces of Hive: let's give the people what they want.

- 3% for the referrer (you)
- 1% for the creator (currently only @tipu)
- 1% for the provider (@hiveonboard)

Hello everybody,

In many of my previous posts I have pointed out that the growth of Hive is closely related to the growth of its community and the number of users who use the blockchain.

In this post Another great news: Splinterland moves on Hive [ITA/ENG] I've talked about how the move of Splinterlands, Dapps in Hive will surely bring many users in our blockchain as well as affecting considerably the transactions that will be made on it.

In addition to this, referring to this initiative Faces of Hive: let's give the people what they want. [ITA/EN] I also talked about how it's right to "lighten" the content of posts and get off the pedestal that Hive has placed itself on compared to other Social Media in the name of the concept of quality, which is perhaps more of a deterrent than an incentive to join and participate in the life of the community.

In short you can't ignore people, the so-called users, if you want to prosper and expand the horizons of the blockchain.
To this end, any initiative can be useful, but there is an instrument that has perhaps been underestimated so far and on which it seems that we are beginning to focus: the Referral System.

Whether you're talking about an online shopping site, a cryptocurrency exchange, a service provider or anything else you can think of where money (virtual or real) is at the heart of the business, * the rererral system is an integral if not fundamental part of the business.*

In practice, you promise an economic incentive to a user to report or invite other "potential" users to buy something or use a specific service.
It's a very widespread system because in the face of the renunciation of a small profit margin by a company to be hijacked to those who report, it allows to increase the base of users or users quickly and certainly with lower costs than those that the same company would have had to bear if it had planned an advertising campaign.

If you think about it, it's brilliant as well as being quick to implement and relatively inexpensive.

Those who work on the Internet will certainly have come into contact with this system of promotion and most likely will have approached a site just after reporting another user to turn into a reporter, creating a circle that we could call virtuous considering that it is a useful service for the dissemination of sites / services that then become part of our daily life.

The post that attracted a lot of my curiosity from @hiveonboard is this one: New Features available: Referral Support, Notification-Bot & API which talks about the implementation of a referral system to promote the onboarding of new users in Hive.

The post just reported follows this other Open Standard for a HIVE Account Referral System where more "technical" details about the above mentioned system are provided.

In the two posts we talk about the system that is already active and in my opinion this is a very interesting news because the economic incentive could be crucial to increase the desire to promote Hive on social media such as Twitter.

What does this economic incentive consist of?

For now the only possible system is to automatically set the referent as the beneficiary of a very small percentage of the rewards of the referred user.
Warning, because is a system that is based purely on trust as the referrer could change the settings of his posts and remove any beneficiary.

I'm talking about beneficiaries in the plural because the system should work this way (I quote from the post):

- 3% for the referrer (you).
- 1% for the creator (currently only @tipu)
- 1% for the provider (@hiveonboard)

So we are talking about a "paltry" 5% of rewards to give up by the new user but that could be a big incentive for those who report if these percentages were to add up for a large number of reported users.

I repeat, the system for now is based on trust but it is still a start... in the future we could implement more stable and defined rules but at least this can be considered an important starting point.

In the posts mentioned above we also emphasize the importance of somehow supporting the reported users, maybe through micro-proxies (even 50HP could be enough) to allow them to operate on the blockchain without major limitations because the resources available to a new user with ZERO Hive Power would allow him to write only a few comments a day and to interact in a very limited way with the blockchain; but also to support new users with advice and some votes in order to help them in the difficult path that Hive can represent at the beginning of his experience.

My final consideration is that the Referral System is another building block in the development of the blockchain and in an attempt to increase the user base, a fundamental requirement for the success of Hive.

The rules may change in the future to better adapt to market conditions and make the use of this system attractive, but the only attempt to implement it is in my opinion interesting and positive news.

I invite you to read carefully the two posts reported in which @hiveonboard talks about it in more detail and as always I invite you to comment my post to compare us on the topic!

Sort:

Ottimo articolo come sempre ;)

Ciao caro, grazie mille!
