You probably already have seen that I finally went through with shaving my head bald last week. I was pretty excited to finally do it, but really had no idea what to expect from it. My main goal was to rid myself of the tiny bit of hair that I still have. I've seen many men with the bald head and beard combo and thought I'd look pretty good with it. Add in the tattoos and how could it go wrong?

I've been bald now for a week or so and I can say that I do indeed like how I look. There are however some other things that I have to deal with, both good and bad. I thought it would be cool to talk about what I love and hate about now having a bald head.

First, I must say that my hair seems to start growing back almost immediately. I'll shave my head at night and then wake up the next morning and my head already feels like sandpaper. It's such an odd feeling to rub my head and it feels so rough. It doesn't stay shiny and smooth long and it certainly isn't soft like a full head of hair.

We are on the tail edge of winter here where I live, so temperatures have still been dropping here and there. If I don't have a hood or beanie on, my head feels like a block of ice. Luckily I have been able to keep it covered for the most part, but I couldn't help but notice the lack of insulation on my head now.

Another weird thing is that when I take off a shirt or dry off my head with a towel, the material seems to want to stick to my head almost. It no longer glides effortlessly off my skin. I really don't like this and I feel the only way to combat it is to shave daily so I never give my hair time to start growing back.

Upkeep, that's another thing I want to talk about. I have both an electric skull shaver and a regular blade that I use with shaving cream. Both work well, but I honestly think I prefer the razor. The only bad part about that is the blades become dull much quicker than with my skull shaver and they also cost a hell of a lot more to replace. I'm really hoping that I can get more adjusted to my skull shaver so that I don't have to fork over a bunch of money on razors every month.

I'm glad that I tried the bald look, but I'm unsure how long I will stick with it. If I can get into a routine of shaving every other day, then I think I can keep it going. Everything new seems a bit more difficult at first than it actually is. Either way, I feel like I'm very lucky to look pretty good bald. Enjoy the photos that go along with this post!

It also gives you that UFC fighter from Dagestan look. :)

Those guys are always badass! I'll take that compliment.

I keep my disposable razor in a glass of water seems to keep it cleaner which in turn makes the razor last longer.

That’s a good idea. I always try to warm my blade up a bit with hot water before I use it.

It looks good on you! I've had a receding hairline for decades and my barber told me a few months ago that I should go shorter, way shorter. I appreciated his honesty but am just so hesitant to do it. I'd probably keep it super short instead of the bald shave. On the upside I'll be saving a lot of money on haircuts.

I once had a barber ask me if I was wanting the "Nic Cage" look after I described my haircut. That was his hilarious way of saying that my hairline was basically nonexistent. That was 5+ years ago and now it's much worse.

Lol. During one of my haircuts I asked the barber if he could suggest any styles that would downplay my thinning hair. He said, "I would just buzz it." I said, "I'm not sure if I'm ready for that." Then he said something to the effect of, "I would have done it a while ago." It's hard to find someone that honest.

Barbers are not the type to sugarcoat things. I appreciate the bluntness.

I may have to go down this path one day soon. It's kind of a scary thing for some guys to think about so this pros and cons list is helpful. So far I just cut mine really short but I totally get how cold it feels and it's surprising how much a head of hair actully keeps you warm!

Are you able to grow a beard? If so, I highly recommend doing so if you decide (or are forced) to go bald in the future.

Oh totally seems like it's a requirement if you have a bald head lol

U gotta slather some of that no grow hair stuff on there! :P

I’m sure that such a thing exists.

It seems as if operation cue ball was a success.

8 Balls better watch out, I will pocket any that I see! I'm not talking cocaine either 🎱

My hair has also receded from the front in the same way and some people are advising me to get a hair transplant. Right now I am thinking whether to do it or not because it can have side effects, some people have done it, they have come out with methods and some have suffered more. You look so much better without hair than with a beard.

I know of many who got a hair transplant and are very happy with the results. It’s either that or accept going bald eventually.

Valhala waits for you my friend.

Your bald style suits you, man. You look like a badass. But I think it's a big disadvantage in cold weather, so be careful and don't freeze. There's something very valuable for you in that head of yours 😂.

A hood and beanie are essential for cold weather.

you're a good-looking guy with an excellent bald head 😊😍👍👌 bald head and your tattoo are a great combination.
Girls love your smile and bald head also.

You are too kind 🤗

Well, the bald head fits you. You look like one of the wrestlers in WWE. Hahaha, you look cute with the hair

Thank you 🤗
If I were in the WWE, I would create a crazy character that's for sure.

You look awesome and handsome with your new look.

You have nothing to worry about, you will soon get used to the shaving and the newly creeped-up feeling.

I do hope you find a balance so you don't spend a lot on razors though.

All the best, sir. Rock your new look with pride. It does go well with your tattoo.

I really do hope I get in a good routine of continuing to shave. Thank you by the way.

I saw your post about this a few days ago. Your head looks great without hair. You look pretty smart except for the hair.

I’m already used to how it looks, but not how it feels 🤣

You Look very cool, I also get bald thrice when i went to Offer Umrah In Saudia Arabia. YOu need to ask someone perticualarly a barber about a cream or anything like this to apply to your head to make your head plain.

The cream is a good idea. I'll look into it.

Just keep a beanie in the car and everywhere you go..

I personally dont think there is anything wrong with that look.. It looks normal and masculine at the same time...

That's a great idea, the bead will never get cold that way.

Your eyes are too mesmerizing. And I also feel you look great with that sphere head 😛✨.

Thank you so much 🤗 feel free to draw me sometime 🧐 I love your style.

Would you believe that's what I thought when I saw your photos. Expect a portrait of you in the next few days.

Let me know if you need more reference pics.
