They didn't mind going on their own without the parents or even any adults. But I still ran after them haha.

The park got even more interesting at night as the colourful lights got switched on.

Wednesdays always call for #Wednesdaywalk, initiative by @tattoodjay so we can see walks from all over the world, even in places that we have never set foot on.

I want to share about a festival I went to some weeks ago called the KL Park Festival at a park that we sometimes do visit. This time we went, the whole park took on a new look that is simply mesmerising for us to slowly explore.

KL Park Festival

This Festival took place from 4 March to 12 March for 2 weeks and it involved many different vendors and institutions. It has many things to offer, including gardens, food trucks, art sculptures and even entertainment. I think it was a very successful event organised.

I heard about the festival from @iamjadeline, otherwise I wouldn't know there was an event going on though I did plan to bring the children to this park at Titiwangsa. It is situated not far from us and we decided to go at about 6pm that day when the weather could be a bit cooler and not scorching hot.

Entrance is FREE and we were each given a sticker to stick on our shirts at the entrance.

What are there in this Festival?

There were 9 showcase components:

  • Balcony KL Showdown
  • Malaysian Arts and Flora Gardens
  • Environmental Arts Competition
  • Mystical Titiwangsa
  • Gardens of Haven
  • E-market place
  • Students Hub
  • 'Lepak' Corner (Hangout Corner)
  • Outdoor Adventures

There were many interesting areas to pop by but I believe that we did not cover all. We managed to see the colourful tunnels of ribbons and another with tubes. Then we went into an interesting and well decorated garden. We also saw some people doing abseiling and flying fox on a zipline.

Apart from that, there were also environmental sculptures we saw on the lake and some people kayaking.

There were also food trucks and seats to cater for the public.

On top of that, I saw some booths with captivating terrariums too that could cost up to thousands of ringgit.

Of course there are a lot of gardening booths selling plants and nurseries selling all sorts of gardening methods including hydroponics and all. The flowers here were in so much variety that it was indeed a feast to the eyes.

Did we enjoy it?

Of course we did! The 4 boys (2 from mine and another 2 from @iamjadeline) kept walking together far ahead of us adults who were busy taking photos and slowly taking our sweet time to admire every nook and cranny of this festival. They went boldly without us and so long the 4 of them stuck together with the eldest one among them, we need not worry. They went exploring at their own pace.

Then my brother-in-law bought pizza and my mum-in-law bought something very nice called "puri" which is an Indian delicacy looked like small round shells with fillings that we could choose. We then found a picnic table and took a rest for the children to fill up their tummies.

After that, we went on walking to see the different lights thst were switched on as the skies turned dark. The park took on a different vibe at night when all things looked alive in the dark. I was a bit tired by then so lesser photos and was also disturbed by a nagging pain on my left shoulder.

My son saw some of the visitors who were holding fancy balloons so the last part of the park visit was me hunting for balloons for the boys. Found a female clown churning out balloons of all sorts of animals so skillfully. These balloons delighted my sons for days!

I really like this kind of concept for a park as it was like a carnival to me. It was surely a great effort done by the organisers and imagine how much work to put in to pull through a festival like this. Thank God that many have come to appreciate the fruit of their labour too. We did not cover the whole park, certainly as the children were feeling tired at one point but it was surely a satisfying walk. I think I clocked in more than 8000 steps from this festival.
