45 years old....
I've been working on behind my computer for the past 25 years or so. And I love being an entrepreneur! It's something I know I'll never stop doing for the rest of my life. There's good, there's bad and there's new adventures each and every day.
However, a few months ago...My wife and I started talking. And I told her, I wanted to try something new with my life. One of the best parts about working for yourself is that you can...Try new things!
And being behind the computer screen for 25 years...I wanted to look at something from behind something different.
A wheel!
This past week, I began my 2 month training course on how to be a trucker!!!
I love to drive. I love the open road. And I wanted to look at something that I could work at, while still maintaining my online businesses. This was a no brainer for me!
I'm preparing for my Class 1 exam, which is the same as the CDL in America. And after that....I'm going to give trucking a good shot :)
There's plenty of opportunity in this field, and again....As I'm 45 years old, I have the huge desire to...Try new things with my life lol
This is as new as it gets for me.....

Being an entrepreneur gives you all the benefits of trying something new for yourself, for your career, or when having a desire of achieving something. You will have all the time in the world. Upon reading your post, I guess you got another goal on your table ready to be achieved in a few more weeks or months. Wishing you a good luck and I know you'll be great in all ways possible.

I've heard that truckers have quite a tough life on the road! Long hours during which you have to be wide awake on the road. Naturally, I'll wish you the best of luck in this new choice of yours, and I do hope you enjoy it. 😊

Yup, depends on the routes you get and the company you end up working for. I'm giving it a year or two and if I hate it, I'll always have my online businesses :)

I've been wondering the whole time about the training. Now I'm in shock! It's a pleasant surprise! It proves my theory that you can try EVERYTHING you want at any age.

I also enjoy driving and being on the open road but could never try that shit in Nigeria. You're going to have a lot of thinking time to clear your head and you could end up cooking up a brilliant idea while out there.
Congrats! Can't wait to hear more about life on the road, and since we have a severe shortage of truckers here in the US and Canada (I don't know why?), they need more people like you to step up to the plate and take a ride. Stay safe Jon! :)

What a good realization to try something new after 25 years. Perhaps I also came up with this idea in a different way and I have a lot of what ifs. But that what if turned into a reality and enjoyed it so well. I see that you are really motivated to learn with full of enthusiasm my friend. You were organized as I am seeing a time management plan. Good luck on your endeavor and have a great time.
That's awesome. I never would have guessed that was going to be the new job. Best of luck to you! I always thought it would be cool to be one of the drivers who goes in front of or follows behind those wide load trucks. I thought you would probably get to see the whole country that way. I think the pace would be too slow though. I like driving fast!

And they can't outsource it overseas.
One of my stepdaughter's friends is training to be a forklift mechanic.
Another trade that can't be outsourced.

I have always been impressed by the truck drivers. I struggle do drive a car and couldn't imagine to move around such a huge beast :-). It's nice you start something new. I also feel a bit like it these days...
You don't look 45. Try your best next time :).
Oh and don't forget to be physically active while getting into driving trucks cuz these things can have quite a load one your health.
Congratulations my friend, here in Venezuela I took a defensive driving course, in that course I drove trucks with trailers. The course lasted approximately 3 months. It was a fantastic experience. Best regards.
