On Saturday morning, we had a nice walk in neighbouring Gorizia, a town located in the east of Italy on the border with Slovenia, where we unexpectedly came across a very nice event. Although it was not yet Christmas Eve, Santa had already arrived in Gorizia. And he didn't come alone, many of them came, a real invasion of Santas. A crowd of red hats with white beards and white hair, paraded on motorbikes through the city streets on Santa's parade. According to the organisers, more than a hundred and fifty of them gathered. They were a feast for the eyes.
Later, at home, I read that the event had a charity note, as the gifts collected by the residents and merchants of Gorizia were donated to children, people in need, the elderly and people in hospital. To maximise the response, the city authorities have even made parking free in the city's car parks on this day.
Congratulations to the municipality and the organisers.
